“I see, so your polieve are like the guards and soldiers that patrol the main paths and villages here. They keep the people safe, but for most of us who travel a lot, it’s better to have something to protect yourself, just in case.”

Hotaru turned around. At first, he looks at the grilled fish that is served to him. It looks delicious. And it makes Hotaru can not wait to eat them. Then, Hotaru looked at Aikano and Riko. "Let's eat!," said Hotaru. Then, he started eating. "It's delicious!," said Hotaru after he had his first bite.

Hotaru nodded as he heard what Aikano was saying. Then, he swallow his food and speak. "I see..That must be hard on you," said Hotaru. Then, he had his food and drink served not long after that. Hotaru looked at the drinks that were served to him. It seems to be a complimentary for the dishes. So, he got it free. To his surprise, they look normal. Although he got the feeling that the drink is delicious despite the fact that it looks normal. Then, he gets back to his food. So, this is a set. And they have drinks already on their set..," said Hotaru. Then, he thinks of giving the iced tea that he has ordered to Aikano.

But, Hotaru smells something from the drink that is part of the set. "Sake?," said Hotaru. It makes him curious. He has never tried to partake in drinking before. His sisters won't allow it. Because he is ​still nineteen years old. Then, he spoke again. "Hey. I'm just asking. But.. At what age is someone allowed to partake in drinking in this world?," said Hotaru.

“I would be happy to help you learn a weapon, if you feel that you need one, but if not, Riko and I are happy to help you stay safe while you are here.”

While eating, Hotaru listened to what Aikano said. Then, he swallows his food. Hotaru becomes quiet for a while. And he was thinking which one is a good choice. Then, he chose to learn a weapon. He thinks that it will be more beneficial for him if he could learn one. Even though there is a weapon that he knows he can use since he lives in his original world, which is a bow. But, Hotaru thinks that he can keep quiet for now. It will not hurt to learn other weapons as well. Afterall, he is a Seishi. He will need all the abilities and power he can get to be able to function normally as a Seishi.

Then, Hotaru look at Aikano. "Well.. I will appreciate your help," said Hotaru. Then, he looked at Aikano. And he smiled at Aikano. Then, he is curious about what kind of weapon he will teach. And he decided that he would ask him that question. "I would like to learn weapon, i think," said Hotaru. Then, he become curious of what hat kind of weapon will you teach me?," said Hotaru.

“Rindou-chan and Eri-san are as different as night and day. They’re brother and sister, but he is an imperial samurai, and his Seishi ability lets him control fire. Rindou-chan, on the other hand, is abandit, and her Seishi power lets her control plants. But you don’t have to worry. Rindou-chan is a good person. She and her bandits only steal from the very rich and corrupt, and they use what they steal to help the poor and mistreated. They’re called the Noble Bandits. Despite how it may sound, you’ll always be safe with them.”

Hotaru listened to Aikano. And he looked at Aikano. "Really? That is good news," said Hotaru. He feels relieved. Then, he spoke again. "Okay. I will not worry," said Hotaru again. Then, he continued eating his food. It did not take a long time for Hotaru to finish eating his food. But, he did not touch his drink. He wants to wait for Aikano's answer regarding the age where people are allowed to partake in drinking.

“Unlike you and Riko, I am a Seishi of Suzaku. He rules the land of the south, my homeland of Konan. Riko and I travel back and forth between the two groups, that way we can both fulfill our duties, but we can still travel together. My Seishi ability is… It’s hypnosis. I can sing or play my flute, and I can cause people to go into a trance, or I can put them to sleep. It only lasts as long as the music does, though, so it can only be a little help in a battle…though it's really good for getting out of a dangerous situation quickly."

Hotaru nodded. But, he did not say anything. And he listens to what Aikano is saying. "What a useful power," said Hotaru. Then, he looked at Aikano not long after that. It is clear that he got curious. And he wants to know where Aikano gets his power. Perhaps he could go there as well. But, it is too late. Because I noticed that Aikano opened his mouth and spoke again.

“I’m sorry, I know this must all be a lot to learn at once, and I’m sure it sounds unbelievable.”

Hotaru looks at Aikano. Then, he said that it was nothing. "It's okay.," said Hotaru. He try to reassured Aikano. Then, he spoke again. "Well.. It does. But, this is another world. I am sure there are a lot of things that I have not know," said Hotaru again. He hopes that his words will reassure Aikano. And he hopes that it will have the desired effect. It will be better rather than having a not necessary thing to happen.

“I officially declare you the gastronomy guide from now on. This food is delicious, I hope you like it too Aoi-san.”

Hotaru turns around and looks at Riko. Then, he smiled at her. "I like it. They are delicious," said Hotaru. Then, he turned around and saw Haji. And he turned around again and saw Riko. "Is that dog your dog?," said Hotaru. "He is cute. What is his name?," said Hotaru again.

"Yes, all Seishi know that their Miko will come from another world and they will be different for the people you see here. That is how I knee you came from another world. Yes, you serve the same kingdom and God as me, Byakko who looks after Sailo.”

Hotaru listened to what Riko said. "So, that is the reason why you know I come from another world," said Hotaru. Then, he looked at Aikano and Riko. "Hey. Is having a Seishi come from another world is something that usually happens in this world?," said Hotaru. Then spoke again. "I am just asking. You guys are very calm even though you guys know that I come from another world even though I am not a Miko. It looks as if the two of you have met with a Seishi who has come from another world previously," said Hotaru.

Not long after that, Hotaru realized that it could raise another question. "But, please relax. I don't mean the two of you have to be tense around me or the people around you," said Hotaru again. He is trying to make Riko and Aikano relaxed. Then, Hotaru became curious about Sailo not long after that. And he looked at Aikano and Riko. He hopes they will give him information about Sailo. Afterall, it is the kingdom that he is going to serve. He has to know about it. "Hey. What does Sailo look like?," said Hotaru.

”As a Byakko Seishi you also have special abilities, I assume that just as the Miko discover that special ability that allowed them to tell their Seishi a part from normal people, you will discoed your own skills. But do not worry, what that happens we will be with you, and we will help you as much as possible to learn to summon and control your abilities. As with eery gift there comes consciences.”

Hotaru listened to what Riko said. "Really?," said Hotaru. "That is good news. Thank you!," said Hotaru. And he said to both Riko and Aikano. No one can imagine how happy he is. He did not have anyone in this world and here he is. Having someone who wants to teach him about his abilities and how to control it.

OOC: I’m so sorry it took me so long to post here guys. It’s been a really crazy couple of days, and I really appreciate your patience. I promise I’ll do a lot better from now on.

Aikano was glad to see everyone seemed to be enjoying their food. He asked for a bowl of food scraps for Haji, as most people got offended when he ordered a meal for his dog. It was silly, he thought, as he was paying for the meal no matter who ate it, but food scraps were always free. It was their call, he supposed, and he’d given up questioning it long ago. Once they were all settled and eating, he turned his attention back to the conversation.

"Sake? Hey. I'm just asking. But.. At what age is someone allowed to partake in drinking in this world?"

Aikano was surprised by this question. He looked at his own little cup of Sake, and then at Riko’s. “Most places give you one free drink. They want to try to get you to order more and spend more money. Sometimes it tastes pretty bad, but this place adds fruit juice to theirs, and it’s not bad.” She picked up his drink and sniffed it, “Strawberry, today, it seems. The juice means it’s also not quite as strong as normal.”

He realized with all of that, he hadn't answereed Hotaru’s question. “As for what age people can drink…well, no one will serve anyone who clearly looks like a kid, obviously. It’s not good for them. Other than that… If you look grown, mp pme really questions it. I’ve been getting free drinks like this since I took up traveling for a living. I still don’t get them in my home village, but that’s just because my mother doesn’t approve, and no one wants to get in trouble with her.” He laughed softly.

"Well… I will appreciate your help. I would like to learn weapon, i think. What kind of weapon will you teach me?”

Aikano considered for a moment, looking at the young man to see if he had any ideas on what would best suit Hotaru. “I’ve got a couple of swords and a spear on me, and Riko has a spear of her own. If you want to start training immediately, that’s what we’ve got to work with, but once we get to Sailo, Rindou-chan has just about any kind of weapong you can think of. She’s practically a walking armory. And if you find any weapons you like, we can make a trip back to my home and have my father make something to suit you. He made Riko’s spear because mine was a bit too heavy for her to use. He’s a blacksmith.”

Aikano smiled. “Technically, he’s my dog, but you can’t tell because he’s got Riko wrapped around his little paw. He likes her better because she’s so nice to him. Not that I’m mean, but she gives more belly rubs.” He chuckled as Haji rolled over for belly rubs just then. “His name is Haji.”

"Hey. Is having a Seishi come from another world is something that usually happens in this world? I am just asking. Aikano shook his head. I’ve never heard of it happening until recently. In my group, Suzaku, our Miko, Hotori was brought into our world, and her best friend, Shouri, ended up coming here to be one of her Seishi. Since you were brought here for Byakko, I’d bet money that Seriyuu and Genbu have a seishi from your world too, although I don’t know who they are, or if they’ve arrived in this world yet.”

Aikano decided to let Riko handle Hotaru’s question about Sailo. She was much better at describing places than he was, and she knew how to paint the perfect mental image. Instead, he thought about Hotaru’s powers. He had discovered his own by accident, and he wasn’t sure how to help someone figure out what they were. “I’ll send some messages to some people I know, and see if anyone has any suggestions on how we can help you figure out your powers. I’ll have them send reply to Sailo, and with any luck, they'll be waiting for us when we get there.”

It was strange how hungry Riko had been, she had eaten slightly faster than usual but it had to be said, the food was delicious, she knew Aikano brought them here for a good reason and the environment was also enjoyable. She blushed lightly hoping she did not look like a starving girl with how fast she ate. She wondered if Aikano could tell all the herbs and spices used to make his dish. She finished her water and then turned to smile at Aikano, “Maybe we could return here at some point with everyone, I’m sure Eri-san and Rindou-sama would like the food, drinks and atmosphere.” And she wondered if Mariko would be excited to come here at night time with the group in order to enjoy the live music, apparently a travelling bard was always welcome to perform in the evening. “It looks like there is lie music at night, what do you think?” She smiled at Aikano, she could imagine her Miko being eager to hear the music of these lands. It must be so different form the music from her world. She always enjoyed watching Mariko play her instrument and write songs, she looked so happy and she was so talented Riko felt lucky for being in the Byakko group everyone had interesting personalities and despite being so different they all complimented one another.

“I like it. They are delicious,”

Riko smiled gently at Aoi, “I’m glad.” She leaned back on her chair and sighed feeling satisfied with her meal. She took a moment to watch Aikano and Aoi as they conversed with each other before she looked around the room, out of habit, to keep a certain awareness of her surroundings. She was still working out her memories but she knew that this came naturally to her, she was used to scanning the area in case she recognised any of the persons who were constantly on her tail. She still did not understand what they wanted but it was never a bad idea to be careful and ensure her safety.

“Is that dog your dog? He is cute. What is his name?"

“Technically, he’s my dog, but you can’t tell because he’s got Riko wrapped around his little paw. He likes her better because she’s so nice to him. Not that I’m mean, but she gives more belly rubs… His name is Haji.”

Riko felt her cheeks turn a deep tone of pink at his words and she looked down bashfully while pouting, “But, how can I say no to a dog as kind and fluffy as Haji? His belly begs to be rubbed!” She laughed looking at Aikano as Haji turned demanding belly rubs, she gently reached out to obediently rub his belly, “He is a good friend, always looking after us.” She smiled at Aoi and then at Aikano. “I’m very grateful to the both of you.” She said referring to Aikano and Haji. Not only had they saved her life back when they first met but they granted her safety and the love of a family. It was thanks to them that she sat here with the three of them. And she would make the most of the time she was granted, of still being alive.

“But, please relax. I don't mean the two of you have to be tense around me or the people around you,”

Riko smiled at him, “Do not worry Aoi-san, you are our friend now and my fellow Seishi so we are perfectly happy to be sitting here with you.” She smiled at Aoi and realised that this must have been quite the confusing experience for him and yet he is taking everything in stride. She found it admirable and knew that he would become a strong member of the Byakko Seishi, they simply had to help him discover and control his powers. “Likewise, feel free to relax in our presence.”

“Hey. What does Sailo look like?,”

Riko smiled at Aoi and said, “It is a beautiful kingdom where the weather does not change and offers the beauty and fragrance of Spring all-year-round. There are many forests and the variety of flowers and animals is breathtaking. It is said to also be the home of the kodama yokai, or tree spirits, and yokai, also referred to as animal spirits. I have never seen them but I believe they must exist. Maybe one day we could go for a walk there and see if we find any.” She then added, “There are also beautiful streams, rivers and waterfalls.”

Really? That is good news. Thank you!”

Riko smiled and nodded, she would help him as much as possible and with Aikano teaching him to wield a weapon, Aoi would soon be able to defend himself if needed. ALl they needed to do now was find a way for Aoi’s powers to manifest.

“I’ll send some messages to some people I know, and see if anyone has any suggestions on how we can help you figure out your powers. I’ll have them send reply to Sailo, and with any luck, they'll be waiting for us when we get there.”

Riko smiled at Aikano, “That is a good idea, I will also contact Eri and Rindou, I have been going it some thought and I’m wondering if it is possible for dormant powers to manifest themselves if in a situation that requires them. For example when facing a foe, or being in a situation that could make the person summon them out of their preservation instinct. Maybe we could discuss this with the others?” She looked from Aikano to Aoi, that could always be a possibility but she would have to get more information to be sure.

Although he also wants to know what kind of music exists in the world inside the Universe of the Four Gods. Is it the same as the one in his world? That kind of question is the one that appear on his mind.

For once, he questioned whether the right way to drink sake is the same as the right way to drink beer. Then, he smells the scent that is coming from the sake. "It smells good," said Hotaru. Then, he drank the sake. "It's delicious." said Hotaru again.

Hotaru turned around and looked at Aikano. That is very interesting information. He has to meet her immediately. Then, he makes a mental note that says that he will visit her when they arrive in Sailo. "I got it." said Hotaru. Then, he looked at Aikano. And he looks at him in awe. "He can create any weapon. That is awesome!," said Hotaru. Then, he becomes curious. "Are they including a bow?," said Hotaru. He is referring to the weapons when he says the word "they".

Hotaru realized what he had just said. And he says that he just wants to ask not long after that. "I just want to ask," said Hotaru. He hopes that they will not think of anything. Even though he really thinks that it will be good if he can find a bow that can be used by him. Afterall, that is the only weapon he could use right now. Who knows? Perhaps he can find a good bow when he meets Aikano's father.

Then, Hotaru remembered something that he had not asked. And it is about Rindou and the Byakko no Miko. Then, he decided Aikano and Riko about them. "Rindou-san seems to be a talented person. Where can I meet her?," said Hotaru. "And the miko. How does the Byakko no Miko looks like?," said Hotaru.

"Technically, he’s my dog, but you can’t tell because he’s got Riko wrapped around his little paw. He likes her better because she’s so nice to him. Not that I’m mean, but she gives more belly rubs. His name is Haji."

Hotaru listened to what Aikano had just said. "Haji? That is a nice name," said Hotaru. Then he turned around not long after that. And he looked at Haji. "Nice to meet you, Haji," said Hotaru while looking at Haji. But, he decided to not give Haji a belly rub. They are still in the tavern. And it seems the tavern will not allow a customer to play with their pet while they are inside the tavern. Not to mention that Haji did not seem to like having a stranger rubbing his belly.

“Do not worry Aoi-san, you are our friend now and my fellow Seishi so we are perfectly happy to be sitting here with you.”

"Likewise, feel free to relax in our presence."

It makes him feel at ease. Then, he sips his sake again. And he continues drinking his sake until the bottle is empty. It did not take a long time for Hotaru to finish his drink. The sake bottle is now empty. But, Hotaru did not order for a refill. Afterall, he still has his iced tea.

"I’ll send some messages to some people I know, and see if anyone has any suggestions on how we can help you figure out your powers. I’ll have them send reply to Sailo, and with any luck, they'll be waiting for us when we get there."

Hotaru listened to what Riko said. Then, he looks at Aikano and Riko. And he says okay. "Okay!," said Hotaru. Then, he turned around to look at his iced tea. And he decided to not give it to Aikano. He thinks that it will not be good to make someone drink the water that he has ordered on his behalf. And he wants to know how the iced tea in The Universe of The Four Gods tastes. Then, he drank the iced tea.

Hotaru listened to what Riko said. And it makes him fascinated and wants to go there. Although he also had mixed feelings when he heard about the youkai stuff. How relieved he was when he heard that youkai in the Universe of The Four Gods are just spirits of animals and did not include vengeful spirits who died in a terrible accident. "That is a good idea," said Hotaru. And he refers to the idea of going for a walk there with the two Seishi.

“Maybe we could return here at some point with everyone. I'm sure Eri-san and Rindou-sama would like the food, drinks and atmosphere. It looks like there is lie music at night, what do you think?”

Aikano laughed softly. “Rindou-chan and Mari-chan would love his place for sure, but I’m sure Eri-san would think it was too dangerous to bring Mari-chan all the way to Kutou just for music and good food. You saw the look she got when she wanted to go with me to meet Hotori-chan, since they apparently like the same music in their world…” He laughed again, but realized that Hotaru probably felt confused, as he didn’t know any of the people they were talking about. “Mariko is the Byakko no Miko, and Hotori is the Suzaku no Miko. they’re both from your world, and they started passing each other letters with me, since Riko and I travel between both groups. Unfortunately, Eri-san is very protective of Mari-chan, and Isamu-san is very protective of Hotori-chan, so they haven’t gotten to meet yet.”

Aikano smiled as he finished his own food and drink, nodding when Hotaru seemed to enjoy the sake. He looked over at Riko. “Are you going to try tours? It’s really not bad…” He turned his attention back to the conversation, laughing when Haji rolled for belly rubs, and then wagged his tail, laying a single front paw on Hotaru’s knee in greeting. His dog was a goofball, but he was good and loyal, and protective of Riko. Soon enough, the conversation moved on from there, and he turned his thoughts to weapons, and the young woman who had mastered so many at such a young age.

"I got it. He can create any weapon. That is awesome! Are they including a bow?"

Aikano nodded. “Father hasn’t made many bows before, but he makes a lot of arrows for all different needs. He did make a very special bow and quiver, and a lot of arrows for Hotori-chan. She does archery, and he made her a carefully crafted bow out of thin metal and wire. He said she could always hit people with it, if she ran out of arrows.” He laughed, though he knew it was only partially a joke. Upon hearing that, his young Miko had looked shocked and said she could never hit someone, which only made his father laugh more. “If you want a bow and arrows, I can send word to have my father start crafting one for you, but in the meantime, we could pick up one for you here. We could practice on our way to meet Rindou-chan, though I don’t have a lot of skill with Archery.” He looked to Riko, wondering if she could recall if she had any experience with archery.

"Rindou-san seems to be a talented person. Where can I meet her? And the miko. How does the Byakko no Miko looks like?"

Aikano smiled. “Rindou-chan is a very interesting person. She’s not even twenty yet, and she’s already the leader of a group of bandits. She’s also doing a lot to try and make Sailo a better place for the poor people who are often taken advantage of. I can send word ahead of us, and I’m sure she’ll meet us as soon as we cross the border into Sailo.” He considered the second question. “Marikp-chan is the Miko. She has blue curly hair and purple eyes. She carries around some stringed instrument called a guitar, and she wears a lot of jewelry. She was dressed very strangely, from what I understand, when she arrived here, but now she dresses to fit in with the people here.”

He smiled as he thought about traveling with the others to Sailo. “There are a lot of pretty forests in Sailo, especially around the borders, but there's also a lot of desert area toward the middle of the country. Most of the spirits there are very friendly, though sometimes the Tanuki cause mischief.” He chuckled. “I think we’ll pass close to the fox and wolf spirits. They live in a small village in the woods. Maybe we can take you to meet them.” He considered something. “There are some dangerous supernatural creatures,like some demons and even some of the animal spirits, but most are kind.”

He saw that everyone was finished eating, and he put out money to pay the bill. “Are we ready to go? We can go find you a bow to practice with until I can get my father to make you one, then we can get started on the way to Sailo.”

“Rindou-chan and Mari-chan would love his place for sure, but I’m sure Eri-san would think it was too dangerous to bring Mari-chan all the way to Kutou just for music and good food. You saw the look she got when she wanted to go with me to meet Hotori-chan, since they apparently like the same music in their world…”

Riko smiled and then said, “That may be so, however, Eri-san knows just as well as Isamu-san that we need to find all Seishi and some of us do not stay put. Can we guarantee that all the Byakko Seishi will be located in Sailo? I personally doubt it, especially with how different things seem to be this time. I mean, we seem to be getting a Seishi from the same world as the Miko. Different times call for different tactics.” She smiled however and added, “I’m sure Rindou-sama and I could speak to Eri-san on the matter. We might be able to meet halfway, I feel like Mariko-sama deserves a bit of enjoyment with Hotori-sama, both have been through so much already.” Riko of course was incredibly selfless when it came to others, particularly those she loved like a family and Mariko-sama and her group of Seishi were like family to her. She did not include the fact that she also wished to get to know Hotori-sama for she seemed it would be exciting to meet more people closer to her and Aikano’s age, despite the hardships she went through.

The main reason she travelled so much, however, was because she did not wish to drag too much attention toward her beloved Miko and Seishi. She knew a man wanted to get his hands on her due to her Seishi abilities and after what happened the last time, she did not want to put anyone's life at risk. She had been lucky that Aikano and Haji had been there to save her. That was another important reason she travelled, albeit she found that enjoyed moving from place to place, that meant she could spend time with Aikano. Otherwise it would be hard for the both of them to keep in touch, they could send letters to each other, of course, but nothing could be better than building memories together. She smiled as Aikano explained who the Mikos were to Aoi.

Riko then turned to smile af Aoi and said, “Mariko-sama is very talented with music and writes lovely songs, perhaps when we catch up with the Byakko group we could ask her to play and sing a couple of songs.” She said this because she picked up that he might like music and might also be curious as to the kind of music people listened to in this world and age. She then considered that maybe once they set out on their little journey Aikano could play some music as they walked or something of the sort for he was very talented with the flute. She turned to smile at Aikano and then spoke into his mind ”Maybe you could play some music when we travel? I think Aoi-san would like it.”

”It smells good… it’s delicious.”

“Are you going to try tours? It’s really not bad…”

Riko blushed lightly at Aikano’s words, he was teasing her but really she did not recall ever drinking any alcohol before. She looked at her sake for a moment and decided to just try it and if it was too strong for her then maybe she could let Aikano have it. Although, considering that made her blush even more, perhaps she should just drink it and not offer Aikano her drink. She did not want people to talk about them in public. She slowly picked up the cup and then thought that perhaps the fruit would make it easier to drink, and so she also remembered they had just had lunch so it should not affect her, hopefully. She then placed it on her lips and took a small sip taking in the taste of the drink. The fruitiness was quite welcoming and it was cool. She could taste the alcohol but not as much as she had expected. As she finished it she felt it slightly burn down her throat but assumed that was normal. ”It was nice.” She spoke shyly to Akianao through their mind and then blushed some more before she looked down at Haji.

”Haji? That is a nice name… Nice to meet you Haji.”

Riko smiled at Aoi and then laughed at how Haji greeted Aoi. She truly loved Haji. He was such a wonderful companion to have and he was playful and cheerful and that was never a bad thing. He was also a brave dog and protected its people. And she felt honoured to have become one of its people. She turned to smile affectionately at Aikano, even though she was still trying to reclaim her memories she was glad that she got to meet such wonderful people and had a new life now. Although, she sometimes wondered about what she left behind.

When Aikano turned to look at her regarding archery experience, she was about to shake her head when something in the back of her mind told her otherwise. “I believe I might have some basic skills, enough to get Aoi-san going. I believe someone was teaching me…” It was a pleasant memory and the person she saw in a foggy memory spoke to her affectionately but she did not know who it was.

“Maybe we could return here at some point with everyone. I'm sure Eri-san and Rindou-sama would like the food, drinks and atmosphere. It looks like there is lie music at night, what do you think?”

Hotaru listened to what Aikano said about the Mikos. But, he did not say anything. And he just nodded while listening to what the two Seishi said. Until he heard that Aikano had been passing the letter. "She seems to be a talented singer," said Hotaru. "That is a nice idea" said Hotaru again after Riko said that perhaps they could ask her to play and sing a couple of songs when they catch up with the Byakko group.

Hotaru looked at the two seishi in front of him not long after that. And he spoke again. "Oh, right. I have not asked you. I hope the two of you did not mind having me asking this question. What are you two doing here in Kutou?," said Hotaru. If his memory serves him right, Riko and Aikano say that they have been traveling between Konan and Sailo. And as far as he could remember, they said that this country's name is Kutou. Although there is a possibility that Kutou is a colony of Konan and Sailo. Just like how some countries in his homeworld were colonies of other countries in the past. "The two of you have said that the two of you have been traveling between Konan and Sailo. So, what are you two doing here in Kutou? If my memory serves me right, it seems that Kutou is not part of both Sailo and Konan in the map that the two of you have given me," said Hotaru.

Hotaru is waiting for the two seishi to answer him. Then, he feels a dog's feet on his knee. And he turned around and looked at Haji not long after that. "He answers my greeting!," said Hotaru. And he begins to think that Haji is a good boy.

Then, Hotaru thinks that he will want to give Haji a belly rub. But, he did not do it. He is not sure whether Aikano will allow him to rub his dog's belly. And Haji did not seem to be wanting to be given belly rubs by him at this moment.

“Father hasn’t made many bows before, but he makes a lot of arrows for all different needs. He did make a very special bow and quiver, and a lot of arrows for Hotori-chan. She does archery, and he made her a carefully crafted bow out of thin metal and wire. He said she could always hit people with it, if she ran out of arrows. If you want a bow and arrows, I can send word to have my father start crafting one for you, but in the meantime, we could pick up one for you here. We could practice on our way to meet Rindou-chan, though I don’t have a lot of skill with Archery.”

The conversation seems to change now. And Hotaru decided to listen to what Aikano said. But, he did not say anything. He just listens and waits until Aikano finishes talking. "It's okay," said Hotaru. Then he decided to have Aikano's father craft him some weapons. At first, he was thinking of not executing the plan. But, he thinks that it will be beneficial for him to get one. "If it is not a bother, I would like him to make one for me," said Hotaru.

Hotaru looks at Aikano. It seems that he and Riko are discussing something. So, he waited silently. It raised a question in him when Riko seems to want to say something but says that she might have a basic skill that could keep him going. He gets a feeling that says that there is something going on. And he wants to ask her what it is that she hides from him. But, in the end, he questioned whether he should have asked her or not. It does not seem like Riko knows the answer as well.

"Rindou-chan is a very interesting person. She’s not even twenty yet, and she’s already the leader of a group of bandits. She’s also doing a lot to try and make Sailo a better place for the poor people who are often taken advantage of. I can send word ahead of us, and I’m sure she’ll meet us as soon as we cross the border into Sailo.. Marikp-chan is the Miko. She has blue curly hair and purple eyes. She carries around some stringed instrument called a guitar, and she wears a lot of jewelry. She was dressed very strangely, from what I understand, when she arrived here, but now she dresses to fit in with the people here.”

Hotaru listens to what Aikano says. Then, it makes him curious about Rindou. She seems to be an interesting fellow indeed. And it makes him think that perhaps it will be okay for him to meet her. Then, he accepts Aikano's offer when he offers him to send words ahead of them.

Then, he realized that Aikano also gave him information about Mariko. Hotaru just nodded when he heard Aikano say it. But, at the same time, it makes him excited to meet Mariko. She seems to be a wise person, and he likes that part of her. Having people stare at him today because of how he dresses is a terrible thing. He is glad his Miko will not experience them.

Hotaru listens seriously when Aikano talks about Sailo. And it makes him think that Sailo is a beautiful country despite the fact that Aikano says that Sailo has a climate that is worse than Kutou.

Hotaru did not say anything when Aikano mentioned demons. It put his mind at ease when he heard that most supernatural creatures in The Universe of the Four Gods are friendly. Although he makes a mental note about Tanukis. "Okay. I will be careful," said Hotaru when he heard about the Tanukis from Aikano.

Hotaru continues to listen to what Aikano said. And he takes up the offer to meet the fox and wolf spirits. Of course he is afraid. But, his curiosity takes the better of him. And he said yes. "Thanks," said Hotaru. Although he also wants to know whether they are dangerous or not. Something that he voices out not long after that. "But.. Are they nice?," said Hotaru.

"Are we ready to go? We can go find you a bow to practice with until I can get my father to make you one, then we can get started on the way to Sailo.”

"I am ready," said Hotaru. "And thanks," said Hotaru again. Then, he got up. And he left the table not long after that. Although he did not go anywhere after he got up. And decided to wait for Aikano and Riko instead.

OOC: Don’t worry about it. I was accidentally late as well. It happens. The good thing is these threads can be a bit more forgiving with the rule about posting time than the big group threads can usually afford to be.


“That may be so, however, Eri-san knows just as well as Isamu-san that we need to find all Seishi and some of us do not stay put. Can we guarantee that all the Byakko Seishi will be located in Sailo? I personally doubt it, especially with how different things seem to be this time. I mean, we seem to be getting a Seishi from the same world as the Miko. Different times call for different tactics. I’m sure Rindou-sama and I could speak to Eri-san on the matter. We might be able to meet halfway, I feel like Mariko-sama deserves a bit of enjoyment with Hotori-sama, both have been through so much already."

Aikano laughed softly. “I think if he were too stubborn on the matter, Rindou-chan would just tie him up and sneak off with Mari-chan.” He smiled. "And he really wouldn’t get mad at her if she did. He’d know she’s safe, and anyway, he can't stay mad at her since they found out they’re siblings…“ He smiled, thinking of his own family. “I know the feeling, though…” Riko had learned by now that Aikano was very doting on his younger siblings. Even his twin brother Renji got spoiled, in his own way. "And he can almost never deny Mari-chan anything she really wants."

”Mariko-sama is very talented with music and writes lovely songs, perhaps when we catch up with the Byakko group we could ask her to play and sing a couple of songs.”

“That’s a great idea.” He smiled at Riko. “Music really seems to make Mari-chan happy, so I bet she'd love to share some music with you. And she’s always willing to play with other musicians. I’ve even played with her a few times…”

”Maybe you could play some music when we travel? I think Aoi-san would like it. …It was nice.”

Aikano smiled at Riko, nodding to her silent suggestion, replying with their mental connection. ”Of course. You know I’m always happy to play while we walk…” He then decided to tease her, just a bit. ”But are you sure you want me to play for Aoi-san, and not because you like it?” He couldn’t help teasing her, because she was just so cute when she blushed. ”And are you sure it wasn’t too strong a drink for you? I’ve heard some girls get very bold when they have alcohol…” He winked at her, then chuckled and turned his attention back to the main conversation. It was rude to talk too much between just himself and Riko, after all.

"Oh, right. I have not asked you. I hope the two of you did not mind having me asking this question. What are you two doing here in Kutou? The two of you have said that the two of you have been traveling between Konan and Sailo. So, what are you two doing here in Kutou? If my memory serves me right, it seems that Kutou is not part of both Sailo and Konan in the map that the two of you have given me."

Aikano shook his head. “Sorry I wasn’t more clear. I didn’t mean to confuse you.” He said, wanting that statement to be first. “No, Kutou is one of the Four Kingdoms, though they’re actually four empires. It is separate from Konan and Sailo, and we don’t come here often, but I was asked by an elderly woman in my home village to deliver a package to her son who lives in this village. Since they both insisted on paying me well for it, I didn't see a good reason not to.” He chuckled. “And Byakko or Suzaku one must have seen fit to see that we got here in time to find you.”He laughed softly. ”It was lucky, at any rate. Riko is the only Byakko that I know of that is traveling around so much, though I know at least one of my fellow Suzaku Seishi travels a lot.”

Aikano made sure there was sufficient money to cover their bill, then picked up his bag from the floor, and passed Riko hers. “I’ll send word to my father before we leave town. Maybe he can get it done quickly enough that he can send it to Rindou-chan, and we can get it when we meet up with them.” He motioned for them to follow him, and led the way first to a shop selling weapons. He turned to Hotaru. “Aoi-san, please pick out a bow you like for now, until we can get one from my father. I’ll go tell them to get some arrows and a quiver ready for you.” He also picked out a few knives. The one he kept was getting dull, and it would probably be a good idea for Hotaru and Riko to each have one as well. They were good for self defense, true, but they also had many uses when traveling, especially when setting up camp. He made sure to pick out knives that would not be too big or uncomfortable for the other two to hold and use. Once Hotaru picked out a bow, he paid for the purchases, and turned to give the knives to Riko and Hotaru. “Here, I got these for you two. They are well made, and they can be useful while traveling. Thet have a tie here so you can put them on your belt, and they’re in a good sheath so you won’t accidentally cut yourself.” He then looked at Hotaru. “We should probably get you a few more clothes, and a bag to carry things in. After that, it’s still pretty early, so once I send those letters, we could probably start our journey.‘

Riko laughed softly, the sound was as gentle as the singing of little bells, she could imagine the scene exactly as Aikano depicted it but she also knew they could not tease Eri-san too much, he was a serious samurai after all. She looked at Aikano with a light shade of pink touching her cheeks, “I confess, I would help Mariko-sama and Rindou-sama if they did put this plan into motion.” She wasn’t usually a rebel or a naughty young woman but Riko loved her Miko and wanted her to be happy as well and with the events of some parts of Sailo, who was to say it was safer for Mariko-sama to stay in Sailo than to enture to Konan? Especially during such times of peace between nations. She also had her Celestial Warriors with her and now that they found Aoi-san they had nothing to worry about. They would find all the Seishi eventually and that would result in Mariko’s protection being reinforced, although, to be honest, Riko was in no rush to find the remaining Seishi because she did not want Mariko-sama to leave just yet, she liked the young woman and had made a few friends during their search, not to mention meeting a Seishi from another world, Aoi-san and her beloved Aikano. Haji placed its paw on her leg as if to protect and she smiled. Of course she was happy to have met Haji. She caressed the paw for a moment.

Riko smiled when both young men agreed to her idea and nodded, “And since Mariko-sama is from the same world as Aoi-san, then it will be comforting for the both of them to hear music closer to their hearts.” She could hardly wait, she was more than certain that everyone would enjoy that and it would be a good way for the group to bond with Aoi-san without it feeling awkward. She would let Mariko-sama know as soon as they reached the group.

Of course. You know I’m always happy to play while we walk… But are you sure you want me to play for Aoi-san, and not because you like it? And are you sure it wasn’t too strong a drink for you? I’ve heard some girls get very bold when they have alcohol…”

Riko felt her cheeks turn a shade of vermillion as she looked down for a moment to regain composure before she replied to Aikano through their mental bond, ”I… of course I enjoy the music you play. Just as much as you said you liked me without realising it.” She could not stop herself from teasing Aikano back a little bit but she still kept their mental conversation at a minimum as they were trying to get to know Aoi-san better and help him feel at home. To Aikano’s last tease about the sake drink she could feel her cheeks much warmer but she managed to kick him on the shin playfully and hoping she got her message across, he was such a tease. She would get back at him later. And then he would be blushing furiously. It was true that it had not affected her much but that she assumed it had been because they ate food with it, she was not sure she would have had the same reaction if they had been drinking without food.

"Oh, right. I have not asked you. I hope the two of you did not mind having me asking this question. What are you two doing here in Kutou? Riko smiled and then added, “Also, I know there is a traditional dessert that is originally from this village so I was hoping to get some before leaving, would you like to try them? It is a form of mochi but it comes in all sorts of flavours and the flour used can only be found in Kutou. So it is quite the delicacy.” She smiled, she wanted to get some for everyone in the group so that when they met with Mariko-sama she could share the sweets with her and everyone else. She then blushed lightly and added, “I’m good at haggling for prices.”

"He answers my greeting!"

Riko smiled at him and said softly, “You can rub his belly if you like, Haji is a very friendly dog.” She smiled and knew that Aikano would not mind as Aoi-san seemed like a gentle person.

"Okay. I will be careful… Thanks… But.. Are they nice?"

Riko smiled at Aoi-san’s question and then said, “Although, it is true that tanuki spirits are mischievous and play pranks they are still gentle creatures, all forest spirits look after their own and do not mingle too much with humans, but they are friendly and will not hurt you. They just stay away from human society out of their self-preservation instinct, as unfortunately some humans fear what they do not understand and tend to attack it and others find profit in beings different from humans.” She then added, “But they love music and Aikano’s talent should be appreciated among the forest spirits.” She was complimenting him but it was true, his music was beautiful it helped her realx.

“I’ll send word to my father before we leave town. Maybe he can get it done quickly enough that he can send it to Rindou-chan, and we can get it when we meet up with them.”

Riko smiled and nodded, “And I’ll be sure to teach him the basics of our bows so that, by the time he receives the commissioned bow, he will know how to use it.” She ensured to grab her things as they left the pub and entered a weapon shop and she had a look around while Aoi-san picked his bow, she looked at some spears and smiled as she remembered that Aikano was teaching her how to handle them and then walked back to them as Aikano paid for the purchases.

“Here, I got these for you two. They are well made, and they can be useful while traveling. Thet have a tie here so you can put them on your belt, and they’re in a good sheath so you won’t accidentally cut yourself.”

She took the knife and placed it on her belt and teste the sheathe, she smiled at Aikano and said, “Thank you.” She nodded when he said they could start their journey as soon as Aikano sent the letters.

"It's okay," said Hotaru when Aikano said sorry. Then, he listened to what Aikano and Riko said. And he nodded in understanding, as he listened to them. "So that is why you guys are here..," said Hotaru.

Then, Hotaru heard Riko speak about Kutou's traditional dessert. And his eyes sparked when Riko gave him an offer to try that dessert. "Sure. I would like to try them," says Hotaru. However, he remembered that he did not have money in this world. And he surely can't make Aikano pay more. "But, you guys have paid for me. I don't have anything to repay the two of you," said Hotaru.

“You can rub his belly if you like, Haji is a very friendly dog.”

"Is that so? If that is the case, I will not hesitate!," said Hotaru. Then, he had his hand go beneath the table and looked for the dog. Then, he rubbed Haji's belly when his hands found the dog. And he does it for a few minutes.

Hotaru stops rubbing Haji's belly, when he thinks that the two seishi want to talk again. He decided to listen carefully. Who knows? It will be important information.

Hotaru listens carefully when Riko talks about the tanuki spirits. And he nodded in understanding, as he listened to what Riko said. He is glad when Riko says that. Although it makes him sad when he hears that they did not mingle too much with humans. But, he thinks that it is okay. As long as they are friendly.

Hotaru looks at Riko. But, he did not say anything. He was thinking that Riko still had nothing to be said. So, he did not say anything. Then, he heard Riko talk about Aikano's talents. "Really??," said Hotaru. Then, he tilted his head and faced Aikano. "I want to hear it too!," said Hotaru. "Will you play for me?," said Hotaru again. Then he continues having conversations with them and he follows them when they leave the tavern.

Hotaru saw Aikano and Riko went to another shop. And this time, it is a weapon shop. Hotaru follows them into the store, and he looks around. Those weapons! In my world, they will go directly to the museum. And the shop owner, they no longer create swords. They only create kitchen knives instead. This is fantastic! That was the thing that Hotaru said in his mind when he looked around the store.

“Aoi-san, please pick out a bow you like for now, until we can get one from my father. I’ll go tell them to get some arrows and a quiver ready for you.”

Hotaru looked at Aikano. "Okay!," said Hotaru. Then, he tilted his head and walked away. Hotaru goes to the bow section. And he chooses the bow he likes immediately when he arrives there.

Hotaru goes back to Aikano's place when he is done choosing the bow. Then, he showed the bow that he had chosen to Aikano. "I choose this bow," said Hotaru. Then, he carries the bow to the cashier after being purchased.

“Here, I got these for you two. They are well made, and they can be useful while traveling. Thet have a tie here so you can put them on your belt, and they’re in a good sheath so you won’t accidentally cut yourself.”

Hotaru looks at Aikano. Then, he accepted one of the knives. And he thanked Aikano for the knife. "Thank you," said Hotaru. Then he opened its sheath and looked at the knife. This knife will be useful. He surely will use this knife to cut chicken or make sashimi. That was the kind of thing that Hotaru is thinking.

However Hotaru begins to question himself. And he is asking when is the last time he cooks something for himself. As far as he remembers, it is either his mother who cook for the whole family when he still lives in his parent's house in Aizuwakamatsu, and he usually buys lunch or dinner in the convenience store after living in Kyoto. As for the money, he usually does some part-time jobs to cover his bills. So, he never cooked any food in his life. Then, Hotaru placed the knife on its sheath again. And he tied it to his belt.

“We should probably get you a few more clothes, and a bag to carry things in. After that, it’s still pretty early, so once I send those letters, we could probably start our journey.‘

Hotaru nodded. Although he is also worried, at the same time. They have bought a lot of things today. There is no way that there is money left. However, he indeed needs a few more clothes. So, he will be quiet for now.
