Name: Miyu Namiko (Superior beauty, Wave child)
Gender: Female
Age: 26
Occupation: She is a tailor and also makes jewels, most of he crafts are sold by her father who is a traveling merchant.
Birthplace: Nyosei Island
Abilities: Miyu is really good at playing the Chinese lute, it is one of the few things she carries wherever she goes. She is truly good at it because it is a way to attract buyers to increase the possibilities of having many customers. At times she plays nice relaxing music while her father deals with the customers. She is also very good at tailoring and jewel making, although she does not make sophisticated forged jewels she has a little art of her own. She has a great sense of clothing, the latest fashions and styles and has a gift with talking to people and making them enjoy her company. But these are skills mainly used to please customers. She is also rather gifted with Kung Fu and she uses her whip with great dexterity.
Weapons: - Link -
She has a whip shaped like the long tail of a dragon and the handle has the eye of a dragon, and a blue sapphire is the eye of the magnificent design. She bought it off a blacksmith with her own earnings in an attempt to impress her father and show him that she could look after herself. She learned how to handle this weapon with the same family friend who taught her Kung Fu. He was quite the expert and these two combined ensure she is rather efficient when confronting others which is useful to scare away bandits, but she is aware she could not match a veteran of war by any means. Especially when she only has herself and nature to practice since her father seldom stays in one place long enough for her to make friends or sparring buddies.
Affiliation: Herself.
Personality:
Impulsive: Miyu is rather impulsive especially when it comes to things that affect her directly. Lacking the true companionship of a family she trusts her own judgement much sooner than anyone else’s, especially since she has pretty much looked after herself since she could remember. So it is difficult for her to listen to others or even allow them to help her, she never had anyone’s help and if that ever happened her father would be angered and deem her a burden. So she tries to avoid getting too close to others or accepting help of any kind to prevent her father from becoming more moody. Of course her impulsiveness only makes things worse for her and at times she ends up in big trouble but the harm is seldom caused willingly. And at times it is too late to apologise so she does not even bother.
Self-centred: Many could say she is rather self-centred but it is her own way of escaping her reality. In behaving rashly and bratty-like, she hides all the flaws she holds within. By spending too much time looking after her hair, her attire and keeping up with the fashion she aims to distract herself form her actual problems. Even if that does not fill the whole in her heart at least she pretends to be quite happy with herself and in a way that also makes her feel she has the right to barge orders which at times gets her in trouble with her father and surely it will displease whoever meets her in a more personal level. Since she does not get close to others due to her father’s strange behaviour and lack of tolerance of people, she does not deem she needs to be nice to others and so her brattiness ensures she is left alone.
Quick to anger: Just as she her temper dictates, anyone who offends her directly can force her to bring out the worst in her and she has little patience, she has no problem in being angry and bratty and both combined are too much for most persons to handle. It is at moments such as these that she unleashes her impulsiveness without second thought. Though this fact is not completely terrible since it allows her to fight completely focused on the battle whenever her life or that of her father is threatened and yet she never seems to please her father and that is one of the things that annoy her the most. It does not matter what she does or how…she never manages to please him. And she is beginning to fear she never will.
Lonely and unsure: Miyu hides all her troubles and tribulations under her bratty façade. And though she could easily be as charming as she looks, it is these things that eat inside her what made her more jumpy and annoying. It is not easy being on her own for such a long time and make no friends. That made her social skills rather lacking and so she does not know how to please others or even how to consider doing so. Instead she deems everyone should do their best to please her. She strongly believes she deserves some happiness and if others were not willing to help her with it then she had no problem in making them help her on that accord.
Appearance:
Miyu has long slightly curly pink hair that reaches to her hips and she looks after it well. Her second striking features are her amber eyes which at times look a deep red colour, but that is mainly when she gets angry. They can look honey-coloured when she is happy though. Her skin is a soft tone, in between tanned and pale since she does not like getting burned but she cannot avoid sunlight since her father is constantly on the road. She is rather fit due to her constant practicing in the woods with her weapon and martial arts but she is not too muscular. She stands at 5’6 however that does no stop her rom surprising others, she might be a bit short but she does not let that get on the way.
History:
Miyu was born in Nyosei Island, her father, Kuno Li, was a merchant sailor by then and he met her mother although he never mentioned her name to Miyu so she does not even know her name probably so she would not go looking for her and leave him. Kuno charmed her mother and they became lovers for a while although they would meet on neutral ports otherwise he would be killed. It happened that upon Miyu’s fourth year of age the woman decided to go back to her island since she had gotten what she needed. Kuno felt betrayed and hurt and took Miyu away from the mother and said that he would not let her have her unless she married him and stayed with him. The man was desperate to keep the woman he foolishly fell in love with but she was too independent and proud to fall for such a threat and so she abandoned them both.
Although Kuno was nice to the child and granted her everything she could ever wish for as in objects or belongings, the loss of his love turned him bitter and distant and he often paid others to look after her when he would go on long journeys. He began to take up lovers and aimed to fill the emptiness in his heart with other women and he became quite the casanova, instead of spending time with his daughter. Once she was old enough he began to teach her his trade and to take her on trips with him to sell things and once in her teens they became travelling merchants. Yet the loneliness she felt increased with each passing day but then so did his lack of tolerance toward her. He began to complain that whenever they were in trouble he had to protect her and at times he lost his merchandise when saving her from bandits and the like.
It was then when she met an old friend of her rather who was a Kung Fu master and weans specialist. She asked him to teach her all he knew so that her father would be proud of her and she could protect herself. He honestly did not think it would make much difference but his eyes saw through her façade and what he saw moved his heart and he acceded. He taught her well, she progressed fast and one day he walked up to Kuno to tell him of her great achievements and that she should be taken to a place where she could continue developing her skills and even suggested taking her to a Palace to be trained for bodyguard or the like. But it displeased him greatly that she had learned these things without telling him first and it only distanced him even more.
After that she learned to play the Chinese lute, which she carried wherever she went, in an attempt to help her father’s business and ease his soul. But he seemed to develop an aversion to everything she did, and he made her feel responsible for the lack of progress whenever they would be out in town selling his goods. This situation overall made her the brattier and she became rather numb. She was beginning to lose hope to ever break the awl built by her father long ago and the more time they would spend together the less she would see of him, he would either be spending time with women, or charming customers with his terrific goods or in a way begging men to take his daughter’s hand in marriage. Whenever that was the case she would either make a tantrum in front of the man or be rude at him or even run away. And now, at twenty-six Kuno believes all he can do to get rid of her is marry her off to the first person to make an offer or simply sell her in Sailo as a slave.
Miyu does not want to leave her father’s side hoping to one day make him see the error of his ways but she also does not wish to be married off just like that. She developed an aversion to that subject and being sold as a slave is even worse. She will leave him but not yet, not until she makes peace with him, she would hate to leave her father that way, even if he had been nothing but a stranger for her most of her life, he is the only person she had spent time with, as brief as it was and travelling constantly…she would not know what to do if she were to leave.
