Name: Kousa (Seishi Name) Masao Soutou (Real Name)
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Position: Seishi, Princess of Sailo
Symbol and location: Masao has the symbol 'Rain Net' located on her stomach.
Power:
Rain Net: A surprising but useful ability, given her origins in the desert nation, but Masao has the ability to summon and manipulate water out of thin air. The water is fresh and clean, and suitable for drinking, which is most often what she summons it for, but she's learned a variety of other tricks as well.
Drowning: One of these tricks, though not one she enjoys using, is the ability to summon water around the head of an opponent, causing them to drown. She learned this at her brother's insistence as a means to protect herself, and she's never actually used it to take a life.
Water Jet: An offensive move she's more comfortable with, this summons a sudden stream of water which knocks back any opponent. The strength of the jet can vary greatly from just enough to hold them in place to strong enough to knock them back or even down.
Healing Waters: Her favorite of her 'little tricks', this summons small spheres of water which are absorbed by a person. Although they do not instantly heal, they do set the wounds or illness to healing much faster than usual.
Weapon: None.
Birthplace: Palace in the capital of Sailo
Affiliation: Byakko, Sailo Empire
Appearance: Link; images.app.goo.gl/R1EihS4DoMAFvbfE9
Masao stands at about 5'4", worth a thin, lean build that still manages to look lovely and feminine. She has long wavy coppery reddish brown hair that, when loose, hangs well past her waist, but she rarely ever leaves it loose, choosing instead to pull it up into a high ponytail, buns or a braid. Her eyes are large and expressive, and are a pretty emerald green. When in the palace, she wears a tiara, befitting her status as Princess, and usually wears dresses and gowns of the highest quality, though she prefers lighter materials and colors as it is so hot in the nation of Sailo.
Whenever she's not in the palace, and is out and about, she usually forgoes the tiara, unless on official business. She opts for simple but lovely dresses and cloaks. She has one set of 'boy' clothes, as she calls them, that she wears when she's practicing her water manipulation, so as to not ruin any of her nice clothes. These consist of simple black ankle boots, plain black pants, and a light colored, fitted long sleeve shirt.
Face Claim: Nike Lemercier from "Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii"
Personality:
Masao is a little naive when it comes to life outside the palace, but she is a bit of a dreamer. She's fascinated by the 'idea' of many things that she has not personally experienced, though she often finds they are nothing like she'd imagined once she sees the reality of it. She is a determined pacifist, and will only fight if she literally has no other choice to keep herself, and anyone who can't defend themselves, safe. She's in many ways the ideal 'good girl', and would never dream of flirting or drinking, or anything else that might be considered remotely improper. She'd never even danced before, though she's been asked, and she enjoys the music, she always politely declines.
She is quite polite, actually, and can't help but be so, as her mother drilled it into her head from a young age that a proper princess was always polite and respectful. Once in a while, if something really upsets her, she will slip from this polite face and speak her mind, though she usually apologizes quickly thereafter and tries to make it up to whoever she spoke out-of-turn to.
She's very cheerful, friendly, and caring, and tries to make friends with anyone she feels she can trust. She knows not everyone who claims to be her friend actually is, but she relies on those who she knows she can trust to tell her if someone wishes her ill. She finds pleasure in simple things, though her favorite pastime is art, and she's quite skilled at it, especially ink drawings.
History:
Masao was born the youngest child of the Emperor and Empress of Sailo. She has three older brothers, and so it was accepted from the moment she was born that she would most likely never rule as the Empress. With that thought in mind, her parents decided the best they could do was to arrange her a marriage contract. So it was set that when she reached seventeen, she wold marry a Sailo noble who had done many favors for the Emperor. He was a good deal older, but that was not uncommon.
At the age of fifteen, her Seishi abilities manifested for the first time. She had been riding with her next oldest brother, and commented that she was thirsty, but that the canteens were out of reach. Without warning, a small orb of water manifested before her, and she sensed rather than saw a warm glow on her stomach. Her bother worked out that this must mean she was a Seishi, and informed the rest of the royal family as soon as they returned. Her mother took her into her private chambers and asked for a demonstration. When Masao summoned another orb of water, her mother began to search her for a Seishi symbol, finding the symbol 'Rain Net' on her daughter's stomach.
It was decided that her duties as a Seishi were more important than the marriage contract, and so the Emperor canceled it, though he said the courtship could continue if both parties wished it. Though Masao had always thought her Fiance was quite charming, she learned from a trusted source that he had designs to marry her and somehow take the throne. Hearing this, she called off the courtship and has kept a wary out for any other plots her ex-finance may attempt to gain power.
She trained hard, practicing and mastering her ability, eventually learning other little tricks she could do with it. Her oldest brother, the crown prince, insisted she learn strong and potentially fatal offensive moves, ignoring her repeated statements that she wanted to help and not harm. Her next oldest brother, the one who had first witnessed her abilities, strove to help her learn how to help, and it was he who helped her discover her power's healing potential.
She'd heard all of the stories about the Miko and her Seishi, and longed to go look for the others who shared her destiny, but her family refused, stating that she wasn't equipped to travel Sailo, not with all the bandits and thieves roaming the vast expanses of desert. They insisted the Seishi and Miko would be collected and brought to her, already knowing that one Seishi was an Imperial Samurai, and would see that things were done to their wishes. And so she sits at the palace and dreams of what the Miko will be like.
Important NPCs:
Emperor and Empress: Masao's parents, Noburo and Hinata both love their children, and want what's best for them, though sometimes they forget to take their wishes into account. Despite the fact that all of their children are grown, they tend to still feel they know best.
Kazuo: Masao's oldest brother, age 30, and the crown prince. He's got a more militaristic mind than the rest of his siblings, always looking to strengthen the Empire and her people, though he is not the sort to start pointless wars, he sees the value in always being prepared
Hideki: Second oldest, age 27. He's much more withdrawn than his other siblings, and prefers to spend his time alone with his art. He doesn't mind Masao's company, as the two share a love of and talent for art, and he taught her not, not only how to do the ink drawings she now excels at, but also how to read and write, and do other things her parents didn't think it was necessary she learn.
Yoshirou: The youngest of the royal sons, aged 24, he is perhaps the most carefree and laid back. He thinks everyone should be able to do whatever makes them happy, so long as no one else suffers for it. This is why he encouraged Masao to learn a more benevolent way to use her abilities than the one Kazuo had supported. He knows his sister does not like to harm others, and so he was glad when they learned she could, indeed, use her ability to heal.
