Name: Kouhei
Gender: Male
God Type: God of War
Powers/Abilities:
Affinity for Water: Being the son of the god Seriyuu, Kouhei has a mild ability to control and manipulate water. It is not as strong as a Water Goddess or Nymph may be able to do, but it is still quite impressive. He often uses this ability to help himself relax, as he finds manipulating water to be quite peaceful.
Healing: Being a Demigod, it is quite natural that he would have faster than average healing abilities, but he can not only heal himself, but he can also completely heal others of most injuries, illnesses and poisons. It takes him a lot of energy to do this, so he can't do it often, and only does so for someone he cares about.
Everlasting Blade: As the son of Seriyuu and a god of War, he was gifted the Dragon Blade. This is a very special sword which cannot be broken, and never rusts or dulls. Kouhei is able to infuse his own aura into the blade in battle to create an even more devastation attack that basically melts the victim into nothingness. This uses up a lot of his energy, however, and is pretty much a one-shot attack, as it takes him a very long time to recover and leaves him very vulnerable afterward. He usually uses the sword normally without infusing his own energy.
Aura Blasts: Using less energy than his Everlasting Blade attack, this allows him to use his own energy or Aura as a tangible blast. It can knock out an opponent or even end their lives, depending on the strength he applies to the blast. This attack does have it's limits, though, as if he uses it too often it can severely weaken him.
Personality:
Kouhei is the son of a god, and has the ego to match that description. He is quite full of himself and self-centered, thinking of his own comfort and happiness first, and then worrying about others if he feels like it, which he usually doesn't. He is very much an elitist in many ways, considering himself superior to many other demigods because he was born one and not made one. He does hold a grudging respect for the Four Gods, and to a lesser degree any other 'born' Demigods.
Being a god of War, he is quite skilled in battle, and has always been ruthless and efficient. When he has a goal, he lets nothing and no one stand in his way until he has achieved it. Once he knows what he must do, he does it, and will accept nothing less than complete success. This extends to the occasional orders he's given by the Four Gods. Even if it is something he does not want to to, he will do it to the best of his abilities. Failure is not an option.
Knowing what he was from birth, Kouhei has never allowed himself to get too close to humans in any form, not even his mortal mother. He saw no point, as he knew he would outlive them all. Why make friends just to watch them all fade slowly into nothingness? Because of this, he never really understood human emotions, and so the slightest display of any strong emotion usually either angers him or greatly confuses him. Once he gets annoyed, he tends to bristle, and snap.
He has a very short temper, and will speak his mind with little regard for how others might feel about what he says. It is practically unheard of for him to ever apologize for anything he says, as he truly has never cared what anyone else thinks.
He has nearly thee hundred years of experience behind him, and so he naturally thinks he knows more than anyone else-especially a mortal-and so he gets annoyed when his orders and suggestions are not followed immediately and without question.
Though he would never admit it, this self-imposed separation from humans, as well as most other deities, has created a lot of loneliness within him. This loneliness is usually hidden deeply beneath his ego, his anger, and his cool persona. He is fairly good at convincing just about everyone that he really doesn't care about anything, though sometimes he secretly wishes he had something, or someone, to care for.
Appearance: Image.
Kouhei has short spiky red hair and very strange orange-yellow, reptilian like eyes. His eyes mark him as the son of the Dragon God Seriyuu, even if nothing else about him does. He is nearing 300 years of age, but looks as though he is in his mid twenties. He is taller than some, but not as tall as others, standing at 5'10”, and has a strong but lean build. He is naturally just a little on the pale side, but it is not because he is not exposed to the sun. Simply, it is just the tone of his skin, and nothing seemed to change it.
His manner of dress is fitting for one who battles a lot. He wears sturdy boots, black trousers, and a white shirt. He wears a brown belt which holds any supplies he needs quick at hand, and black gloves. He also wears a black cloak with a deep red lining to match his hair. He keeps his Dragon Blade strapped to his back for easy access and is quite skilled in it's use.
Affiliation: Himself, Seriyuu
History:
Kouhei was conceived during one of Seriyuu's brief times in the human world. He found a rather naive young woman bathing alone in a mountain spring. The dragon god was instantly enamored with her, and managed to seduce her. He had returned to the home of the Four Gods by the time she realized she was with child. The woman moved to a distant village in Kutou, and told everyone there her husband had died in the war, to spare herself and her child the shame of the truth. As he grew, Kouhei knew he was different from other children. Even from a very young age, he had abilities that no one could explain. It was thought at first that he might be a Seishi. Eventually, when he was about sixteen, Seriyuu was summoned once more. On this brief visit, he found his son, and told him all, informing him that he was a god of War, and would be trained to wield the powers he would develop over time. He was given the Dragon Blade then, and was told to learn to use it.
Now understanding why he'd always felt different and distant, Kouhei stopped trying to make connections with humans, and instead focused on training himself. He took part in many battles over the years, always fighting for his father's empire. During one such war, just ten short years after learning the truth, his home village was raided while he was away, and his mother, as well as most of the others, were killed. He felt that, with her died the only connection he had to the human realm.
All of that happened a little more than a couple of centuries ago, and though he has not aged past his mid twenties, he has gained knowledge, specifically useful battle tactics. He is in frequent contact with his father and other deities, though he feels no real loyalties to any other them. He is however a good soldier and will follow the orders of his superiors.
He did befriend, at least somewhat, a demigoddess named Rishiara who is the daughter of Byakko and a wolf spirit. He tolerates her because she, like himself, is a 'born' demigod, and moreover he finds her presence peaceful. She rarely leaves Sailo, however, and he rarely leaves Kutou, so they do not see each other often.
For his one friend, he also has one enemy, a fire goddess by the name of Hinote. She was made a goddess by Suzaku just fifty short years ago, and from the moment she saw Kouhei, she tried to win his affections. He considered her a lesser creature, and ignored her. She became jealous of the fact that he would spend time with Rishiara, but not with her, and in time, she also became jealous of the fact that she was not born a goddess. She vowed to get back at hims someday. She finally saw her chance when she saw an opportunity to blame Kouhei for an attack on the Konan-Kutou border. He had no part of it, but could not prove it, and things were still tense enough between Suzaku and Seriyuu that the phoenix god believed her, and demanded a punishment for the demigod of war. He demanded that, for the loss of life he'd supposedly caused, Kouhei must protect the first mortal he sets eyes on for one year. If the mortal died during that year, Kouhei would be stripped of his powers and made mortal, but if the mortal survived-and indeed, flourished-he would be rewarded with one simple request.
Kouhei resented the punishment fro something he did not do, and so he decided to hide himself far away from all humans. If he never saw a mortal, he'd never have to protect one, and then he'd never risk losing his powers. He moved to a lavish home in the middle of the forests of Kutou, and has happily avoided seeing a mortal for quite some time now, though Rishiara will occasionally come visit him, if only to tell him he's being foolish, and Hinote will stop in to gloat about the life he now leads. She is still not satisfied however, and is always plotting ways to try and either win him as her lover or force him to carry out his punishment.
Feelings Toward Other Gods: He holds a sort of respect for the Four Gods, and will follow any orders issued by one. He has a lesser degree of respect for 'born' demigods like himself, but considers 'made' demigods no better than humans.
Feelings Toward Fiends: He could really care less one way or the other, so long as they don't disturb him. If he is ordered to fight them, he will, but otherwise, he doesn't see it as his problem.
Feelings Toward Miko/Seishi: They are mortal, and so he feels no real attachment for them. He does have a little more respect for the Seriyuu no Miko and her Seishi, but that is just because they are affiliated with his father. Still, it is not much.
Anything Else:
Weapons: Kouhei carries the Dragon Blade strapped to his back for easy access. He usually uses it as a regular blade, but will use it's Everlasting Blade attack in a pinch.
Important NPCs: Hinote: Fire goddess with a grudge against Kouhei. She wishes to either make him her lover or destroy him, and at this point she doesn't seem to care which one.
