Name: Seung
Gender: Femaie
Age: 25
Occupation: Pirate Captain
Birthplace: an Island
Abilities:
Since Seung was a Suzaku seish in the past, she still has the abilities she did when she had to protect her miko. The miko perished many years ago, however, but her powers are still active and stronger than ever marked by a strong will to never fail to protect her own again. Her sign is 'Star' and it is located on her forehead. It still glows a piercing red light whenever it activates upon her using her abilities. One of her skills consists on supernatural strength and this is what earned her the fear of many a foe and her name came to be feared as if she were Marishiten, the reincarnation of the goddess of warriors herself. In fact those who have watched such skill in use have come to call her that instead of her actual name. When in battle she can attack several enemies all at once and she can even fight without her weapons. One of her attacks with that power consists on smashing her fist on the ground to create a sort of tremor or quake on the ground near her enemies, and though she dares not use such a move in her ship at times it can help defeat other ships and have them sink so they cannot go in pursuit of her and her crew once the battle is won. This is a skill she easily mastered and though the more she uses it the less energy she retains, she practiced hard to hone these abilities and be a good guard for when her miko arrived. Her other skill as a seism and one she did not use much consisted in the possibility of limiting other seism’s skills. If the foe is overwhelming she could lock some of the power to even the odds and even claim victory sooner than were she to fight along her fellow seishi. She stills recalls the last time she used that skill and due to the circumstances it almost cot her life, however, that ensured the grudge of the seishi and now he hunts her down to force her to unlock his powers once more.
Seeing also master several martial arts throughout the years, being a pirate she learned several types of martial arts and combined them to suit her needs. At times it came quite handy to use different types of fighting since it would confuse the opponents. And so with a mixture of kung fu, kendo and ninjutsu for stealth and whatever other small technique she could learn she would make use of it. She quickly earned the admiration of her masters and this talent of hers ensured she had the respect and admiration of everyone on board her ship. She is not the kind of person to use her seishi powers on a whim, she will only use them if the opponent requires her to. And so she mastered her martial arts and became much stronger on that accord.
Seung has a gift with marksmanship and dual wielding since she mainly fights with her crossbow or her short and curved twin swords. Years of being taught the life of a pirate she soon learned that if she did not master these techniques she could not protect herself, seishi or not, these skills are always handy and can make the difference at times of need.
Weapons:
Crossbow: She has great skills with the crossbow and it is one of her main weapons of choice, alongside short twin curved blades. Spending most of her time at sea a crossbow is quick to assemble and shoot and it is comfortable to use from wherever she may be, be it at the mast or at the deck. Even on land she has found it handy countless times. She also developed a like to make her own and constantly modify it for improvement. She also makes her own arrows.
Short twin curved blades: Seung can easily draw her twin curved blades and years of practice helped her hone the speed and precision. When you live at sea and help the world is after you, there is only one thing you can do to survive and keep going and that, unfortunately is to fight and protect yourself. Ryang Jeong taught her martial arts and the handling of her weapons since he saw in her not only someone strong enough to become a good leader someday but he also saw great skill and promise in her and wanted to give her the key to independence if their paths ever parted. He paid one of the best blacksmiths to make the twin blades she carries up to this day and she had ensured to always keep them in excellent condition. She also has a few throwing knives at her disposal hidden inside one of her boots and on her belt in case she ever needs to use them.
Affiliation: The Ryang Jeong crew and herself.
Personality:
Seung is rather cold and distant. It could be said she has her reasons for being that way. From a very young age she experienced the worst that could happen to someone at such a tender age, not only did she lose the one person to show her some kindness as she grew up but everything else that came soon after marred her opinion of others and her desire to be on close acquaintance with other persons. And so, even among her crew members she keeps her distance. There are few persons on board the Ryang Jeong who know her in a more personal level and this keeps a mysterious air about her. She earned their devotion and respect even though she never got close to any of them and no one seemed to mind. She marked their lives so much they came to understand her silence and coldness was no indication of indifference toward them since she would gladly risk her life for any of her crew members, as she sees them as a family. Something she learned from her one and only tutor. Although, this at times could be seen like a contradiction to her usual cold demeanour and distanced personality.
Being a fast learner and a good observer, Seung soon became a great thinker and tactician even when she was still a young girl. Her tutor admired her greatly and did not hesitate in granting her even more knowledge and experienced whenever he saw fit. Many disapproved of the way he brought up little Seung, but she never listened to what others said, she greatly admired him and he gave her the affection she so desperately needed as an orphan girl. One of the first things he taught her was that if she did not keep a cool mind and think quickly her life could be gone in the blink of an eye. She learned to adapt to any situation even if it changed abruptly and to seize all options and never give in to despair. There was always a way out of things, even if you could not see it at first. This was fuelled by her thirst for knowledge and she often read books of great historic battles and whenever the ship stopped at port and they came across a General or a tactician they trusted, being pirates, she never hesitated to ask questions and analyse answers carefully. Without realising she was at times good at giving these men counsel.
Due to the reality of her situation and the hardships that came with growing up as a pirate, Seung had to learn to restrain her emotions. If no one could read you then they could not find the means to hurt you. Although underneath it all she cares deeply for her crew, they are the only family she has ever known. She is aware of this being her greatest weakness. She also never thinks of her comfort and well-being if she can offer it to her crew. While everyone else expressed their emotions openly, Seung refrained herself from doing so and never revealed openly what she had in mind. It was almost as if she wished to punish herself for the incidents of the past. She came to believe she deserved no happiness whatsoever and that if she did so much as to wish for it… terrible things would happen. And she was convinced this was the case since she lost much when she was the happiest. So in keeping her emotions in check and never seeking her own joy… she kept everyone safe from her shadow.
Despite the many years that happened since the incident that marked her life, Seung is still greatly marked by her past and is afraid to be betrayed once more. She also fears being in close proximity to a man who is not part of her crew, in fact, she is mainly awkward or colder than usual if she finds herself in the company of a man young enough to wish to take advantage of her. It is these thoughts that haunt her every night and they convince her that another reason she must never get close to other persons is because she cannot trust anyone enough to let them help her and, she fears to experience the same thing as before and it was such a traumatic experience and it led to the loss of her miko. She still dreams with the incident and wakes up as pale as the moonlight. She seldom sleeps and rather plans new strategies or objectives while her crew is safe and sound.
Appearance:- Link to her appearance -
Seung stands at 5’9 which is taller than most young women in general, particularly the lands she fairs from, or so she was constantly told by her tutor. She has very long white hair usually cut in several layers which gracefully falls bellow her knees whenever she sets it lose. She does that at times but seldom whenever she has a battle or a mission at hand since she is more comfortable fighting with her hair tied in place. She likes trying out all sorts of lovely hair styles and tends to look quite lovely in them even though she is never vane about her appearance. She has lovely deep golden eyes that seldom show any emotion as she learned years ago to mask everything well. She is slim and had a rather athletic figure due to her life as a pirate and her skin is tanned due to exposure to the sun. She usually wears tight trousers and long boots which help in her constant voyages or battles. But she also likes wearing short skirts with her long books and slightly revealing shirts or dresses. But she never intends anything when dressing comfortably. She also has a long cloak she ears most of the time on the right side so she can easily draw her weapons should the need arise. It is needless to say many a man tried to woe her but she always ensured they knew she was not interested in getting close to anyone… not at all. She had the feeling no one was truly… reliable although she may be wrong.
History:
Seung was born in an Island, that was all she was told by her only fatherly figure and mentor called Ryang Jeong. He found her as a baby one day as they were to leave port. She was wrapped in a cloak and left to die in the streets. Ryan Jeong never believed in coincidence and so he took her in and was also amazed by the intensity of her golden eyes. It could be said that at that moment he felt in love with her and took her as if he had been his own daughter. He protected her from all harm and brought her up to be a strong, independent and confident woman. He soon taught her all the martial arts he knew, the name of many fish and how to hunt and cause the least damage. How to honour and respect the whales as the creatures of the Sea Gods and how to earn the admiration and respect of a whole crew not with malice but with benevolence and earning their admiration. His crew never once considered betraying him and loved him like children love their father, like she loved him. And she worked harder than anyone else to impress him and ensure he knew he had done right in adopting her. Since he was never one to give in to favouritism the crew never felt threatened by Seung and as years passed and her beauty and joy increased they all loved her well and gladly followed her as the second in command.
She was exposed to battle, to the truth about her birth and many other things form a very young age since Ryan Jeong believed a child must never be kept in the dark of anything that concerned him/her so directly. Besides, the life of a pirate was hard and he wanted her to acknowledge that truth as soon as possible. As the yeas passed and this pirate crew prospered, Seung suddenly realised she was a Seishi and soon began practicing her powers, Ryan Jeong encouraged it since he was an honourable man and the crew wanted to help the miko if she ever appeared. And she did, one day Seung was on night watch and saw a beautiful girl bathed in a deep light fall into the sea, without second thought and feeling connected to her she swam to her rescue. Her name was Li and she was a lovely girl of the same age of Seung, they soon became inseparable and began to look for the rest of the Seishi it was an easy task since they were always on the move.
At that moment, Seung was already an apt pirate and a strong Seishi, but she could never be ready for what happened soon after. They found two more Seishi and as expected they joined the ship in order to find the rest. One of them was called Fan. He was a handsome man with long red fiery hair and a very strong and fit body. However, despite his pretentious temper where he earned the appreciation of everyone, Ryan Jeong warned Seung not to fall of his tricks and to be weary of him since he seemed to have ulterior motives. At first it seemed to her that he was trying to earn Li’s favour and many pirates thought he was actually courting her and Seung was appalled since she knew that was not possible. She confronted him and told him to concentrate on his job and that he could not fool her even when everyone else loved his charming endeavour. Fan did not take her words well and instead tried to cross the line with Li one night and when she whispered in her chambers, Seung quickly entered and caught him before he could harm Li.
Fan knew then that he had earned everyone’s mistrust and tried to bribe them, then charm them and finally justify why the miko was a burden more than an aid. Of course, by that moment he was completely outcasted from the ship and his anger focused on the two fourteen-year old girls who had outsmarted him, a man of twenty and one. This did not sit well with him and within a month he had set a new plan in motion. Seeing was returning with some pirates and Captain Ryang Jeong when suddenly Fan and a few assassins ambushed them. They were too fast and too many for anyone to react in time and soon it was just Captain Ryang Jeong and Seung left. There was a ferocious battle between him and Fan but Seung felt like her heart was torn into pieces when her beloved father was killed, he smiled at her lovingly before he died and he begged her to run, but how could she when so many men were standing around her?
Not satisfied with how much he had already hurt Seung, Fan approached her and managed to disarm her, fearing he might kill her and use his powers against the miko she decided to use one of her abilities and as she stabbed him and weakened him she locked most of his power, and he would have locked all of it had he not broken the link. In deep anger due to his loss, Fan raped her in the most harmful, traumatic and horrible way possible and after all that he stabbed her deeply so she would bleed to death. By the time she reached her miko, still bleeding deeply, Fan had already stabbed her. As her miko lied in her arms and Seung cried bitterly, she too came close to dying.
It was the remains of the old crew that looked after her wounds and brought her back to life. And yet, this experience darkened the light in her eyes and she soon distanced herself form everyone else. She would save people and earn their loyalty and recruit them about the ship she had now come to call Ryang Jeong in memory of her beloved father. And she sailed the seas with the hopes of always keeping her crew safe… and one day avenging Li and finally riding the world of Fan.
