Name: Abe Kazuya
Gender: Male
Age: 30
Occupation: Ambassador for the King of Kutou and heir of the noble Abe clan.
Birthplace: Kutou
Abilities:
Kazuya mastered the art of dual wielding from an early age. He learned the art of sword-fighting combined with martial arts since he was very young and his first teacher was his father. But his tutelage soon was left in the hands of his uncle Abe So-Lung, and it was then that the discipline intensified to the point where now he is one of the best swordsmen in Kutou if not the four kingdoms and perhaps beyond. He can wield a two-handed katana or a spear quite easily but his weapons of choice are two swords, one for each hand. He is also very quick and light-footed when he fights and that at times confuses his opponents even though he is rather strong he is not too muscular to be slower like most men he has faced in the past.
He also has a gift with animals, particularly birds, and he has a hawk companion he nurtured to health and never left him ever since, the name is Taka and he is must helpful whenever Kazuya is off doing a task for his uncle of the Emperor. Even amidst battle and danger, his feathered friend never lets him down. With this gift came a good skill with riding and fighting on horseback and on foot. He also has a gift with words, hence he does a great work as an ambassador.
Weapons:
Kazuya usually carries small throwing knives (which he normally hides in his persona in places he can easily draw them with the smallest of movement), a katana handing on his belt and two twin swords which usually hang inside their sheathes on his back. He finds it easier to draw them that way. They are longer and a bit thicker than most twin swords and not many can handle that amount of metal when fighting or holding the weapons with each hand. He is greatly admired for that skill and his men follow him into battle with confidence and sincere loyalty. His uncle is proud of him for all he accomplished at just thirty years of age. Kazuya wields every weapon carefully, which means, he would not recklessly kill unless it was necessary and there is only one person he could immediately slaughter if he came to meet him face to face, the man responsible for the slaughter of his family and destruction of his home.
Affiliation: Kutou and whoever earns his loyalty
Personality:
Kazuya seems cold and distant or uninterested on others or canons of behaviour, but in reality he is a most benevolent Lord and he worries about his people and the clan and the honour of his family and all this makes him look rather reserved and silent. It is all a mask to hide his real worries and a past that keeps haunting him and that he had thought he had long forgotten already. But who could ever forget such fateful day when his life was completely shattered to pieces? He feels it is easier living as a respectable yet unapproachable man outside the clan and his people. That also helps keep innocent people away from him. Due to his current enemy and his inability to annihilate him, his only other option is to keep people away from him. Since he knows that if he were to get attached to someone he would be loyal to a fault. That would also become a weakness Yu could easily use against him.
He is a very cunning and wise man, he knows how to talk to others and it is such cunning what earned him the job as an ambassador, which lifted the honour of him family that was once lost then it was destroyed by a horde of demons led by Yu. Ever since he was old enough to regain the on our lost he fought hard to achieve so and it earned him the respect and esteem of his clan.
Despite all these traits that make him a rather silent and unapproachable person, he is rather cheeky and whenever he picks on someone and that person’s reactions please him then he does not stop being rather childish and enjoys annoying that other person. this is not out of malice, rather it shows a part of him that he conceals in order not to bond with other people, traits he used to allow to roam free when he was a happy child without a care in the world.
Appearance: - Link -
Kazuya stands at 6’1, he is rather fit and muscular but not to the extent of looking too prominent. He has short dark hair and deep blue eyes that at times can remind of the mineral called Blue John. His eyes are most of the time rather distant and cold but that is due to his bad habit of keeping everything bottled inside. He usually wears clothes worthy of his position but they are never too obvious or self-centred. They are rather modest and simple but still elegant and serve to know he is a noble of the Abe clan. He prefers to wear comfortable dark trousers and long boots since he is usually on the road. His skin is slightly tanned due to his outdoor activities.
History:
Kazuya was born in Kutou in one of the most prosperous noble clans that honoured the Emperor and fought for justice and freedom. These values are still inside him and they resurface amidst battle or in a moment of need. His parents were the leaders of the clan and went by the names Abe Jin and Abe Ochi. Everyone loved their Lords and served them happily and the land prospered and the people did not suffer hunger or unhappiness but such a time could not last long for there were rumours of an army of demons growing stronger and as such Jin warned the Emperor of Kutou and managed to save the royal family of an impeding attack although the demons managed to alter the information and the Emperor only heard that an unknown army was planning to attack.
Jin moved his forces with the help of his brother Abe So-Lung and they made the demons retreat, or so they thought, for the moment they returned to their lands they saw the homes and crops burning in flame and everyone had been slaughtered with the exception of Kazuya. All three of them tried to evacuate the lands before they were spotted and it was then when Yu showed up and killed Jin. So-Lung fled with Kazuya as he had promised to look after him should anything happen to his parents and elder siblings. So-Lung worried about Kazuya since the young man barely spoke a word after the incident and it took him a long time to show happiness and be more open about his feelings with him, but it happened eventually.
It troubled So-Lung to learn that Yu had killed all the members of the Abe clan in front of Kazuya and that the child had been unable to stop him. He developed a strong bond with his nephew form that moment forth and he looked after him as if he were his own child and he was much proud of the young man he became. He encouraged his bond with nature and his ability to communicate with the birds. He did all at hand to give him a happy life and honour the memory of his brother Jin. But the incidents of that fateful night would never leave Kazuya’s mind and at times nightmares plagued his dreams.
He cursed that demon, but he knew that not all demons were like him, since his parents used to work in connection with the demons of other more peaceful clans to exchange information and whatever each culture could offer each other for the well-being of both races. He did not even realise the very moment he devoted entirely to his training in every aspect, be it arts, history, swordplay or riding, whatever his uncle taught him or his tutors did, he treasured for he knew it would always come in handy in the future. This helped him develop a wisdom much surprising and admirable for his age. it was at that moment when he was selected to become an ambassador for his uncle or the Emperor himself should the need arise.
Along all this, he secretly gathered information on Yu with the hopes of one day assorting his revenge and finally stopping that man from harming others and tormenting his dreams. He feels that until he knows that Yu does not live in this earth he won’t be at peace for every day that passes by a sense of dread overcomes Kazuya and he almost fears that these quiet days mean… Yu is up to something. Of course that only helped to make Kazuya the target of constant attacks to his persona. And So-Lung fears for the life of his nephew and is planning to request the protection of one of the imperial guards to perceive his life even though he constantly claims he does not need protecting. He is that proud and stubborn… just like his father was before him.
Important NPCs:
Yu: He is the person responsible for sacking and slaughtering Kazuya’s village when he was a boy and the one man he loathes with all his heart and wishes to face him and avenge all the innocent people Yu has destroyed over the years.
Abe So-Lung (Pang De by Wolfina): He is Kazuya’s uncle and the only family he has left whom he loves and treasures like a father and protects at all costs.
