That said, he has absolutely no ability to follow through on any more... intimate implications of his promises. He has no concept of anything in the birds and bees realm. This innocence applies only to this portion of his life, however - he is quite experienced in all other capacities, though ironically, he is an absurd lightweight when it comes to alcoholic beverages.

History: The bastard son of a minor noble in the Kutou Empire, Shian was selected at birth as a suitable companion for young Prince Shun, who then was only three months old. This selection was made to avoid forcing the prince to associate with common folk, and to provide him with an appropriate social companion who would also be no potential threat to the prince's delicate position in laying a future claim to the throne. As a result, they were raised essentially together in the palace, in a manner like unto brothers, or perhaps favorite cousins - as a result, he has very little memory of his own birth mother and father, beyond names. Though he and the prince were close as children, and even as they grew into adulthood, it was always kept very clear that Shian was a commoner, and any favor or special privileges he received were due only to his connection with Shun. Thus, as he grew into a man, Shian chose to retain the only life he had ever known by becoming first a palace guard, and eventually Shun's most trusted personal bodyguard.
