Rishi is a bit taller than most females in her human form, standing at about 5'7", With a slim, pretty, slightly muscular frame. She has long, straight brown hair that hangs down past her waist, although she usually pulls it back into a braid when traveling. Her unseeing eyes are red in color, though sometimes they can appear more of a reddish orange or dark amber, depending on the lighting. They reflect the moonlight at night, taking on a bit more of a golden hue. Her usual manner of dress is either comfortable dresses or loose shirts and pants, though she usually wears sturdy boots with either. When at home in the forest, she often goes barefoot as she enjoys feeling the earth beneath her feet. She often carries a long thin wooden staff with carvings of nature all along its length, topped with an elaborate carving of a wolf within a crescent moon. This staff was a gift to her from the Emperor of Kutou, and is made from a heavy, durable wood. It is used in equal parts as a weapon and mobility device when navigating independently among humans. Although she could appear fully human, she almost always chooses to allow her brown wolf ears and fluffy brown wolf tail to be visible to humans. She is proud of both as a symbol of her nature as a wolf spirit.

In her wolf form, she is a brown wolf with two shades of brown fur that compliment each other nicely. She is sleeker and slightly shorter than males of her species in this form, but she is very agile and nimble. She can move quite fast in this form, with or withut the use of her Wolf Sight. Her eyes are the same color red as in her human form.

EVERYTHING'S INSIDE
powers: Super Strength: As a wolf spirit, Rishiara is much stronger than her small frame would suggest. Although perhaps not as strong as a male of her species, she is still much stronger than any human.
Super Agility: As a wolf spirit, she is much more nimble and quick on her feet than the average human, and is even able to move a bit faster than normal, especially in her wolf form.
Transformation: Rishiara is able to transform from a fully human appearance to a fully wolf appearance, and even able to take on a sort of hybrid form that is mostly human with wolf ears and a tail. She is also able to take on a Spirit wolf form for short amounts of time that looks like her normal wolf form, but is more translucent and is able to pass through solid objects.
invulnerability: She is able to become invulnerable to attack or injury for a very short period of time. This ability uses a lot of energy, however, and so she almost never uses it, unless it is the only way to avoid a fatal injury. Despite the fact that she can summon this ability at will, she usually doesn’t have the energy to do so more than once within about a forty-eight hour period without passing out, which naturally leaves her completely vulnerable.
Telepathy: The ability that she inherits from her father’s family line is a strong gift in telepathy. Although it is strongest with other wolf spirits and wolves, she can sometimes communicate with other animals and spirits, especially if she is close to them emotionally. She is unable to communicate with humans telepathically.
Wolf Sight: an off-shoot of her telepathic ability, and an adaptation to her blindness, Rishiara has developed the ability to “see” through the eyes of other wolves and wolf spirits. She has also gotten quite skilled at adjusting the point of view to account for height differences and slight difference in location, to the point that she can navigate even the most difficult terrain as if she can see perfectly, so long as a willing wolf is nearby to serve as her eyes.
Accelerated Healing: As most other wolf spirits, Rishi is able to recover more quickly from injuries, illnesses and poisons. It's not instantaneous, but is much, much faster than humans. Serious injuries may leave scars, and she is unsure if she could regrow a limb or appendage if it was cut off. She also has no desire to find out.
abilities: Enhanced Senses: Partially because she is a wolf spirit, but primarily because she has learned to rely on senses besides sight, Rishiara has a very advanced sense of smell, taste, touch and hearing. She can distinguish sounds as slight as the rustling of different fabrics and the footfalls of different people, even on lush grass or carpeting. She can feel the differences in similar currency, and in different materials. She is able to taste if anything is off in the food she consumes, assuming she didn’t detect this by smell before eating. She is also able to hear sounds much softer and further away than even most of her own pack. She insists this is no supernatural ability, but rather that she has learned to listen to what her senses are telling her, where many do not.
Tracking: Despite being unable to see the physical marks left by a person or animal, she has learned to use her other senses to do just as good a job when tracking. She mainly smells for their scent, but also listens for sounds ahead, and sometimes feels for disturbances in grass or foliage.
Basic First Aid: Although she has an accelerated healing ability, she has found it useful to learn how to treat basic injuries quickly and efficiently, which comes in handy if she doesn’t have time to wait for her healing ability to do its job before moving on.
Shamisen: Rishiara is a skilled musician. Having learned from her best friend, Haruhi, she has fairly recently taken to playing the Shamisen, especially when she needs to think or wants to calm her nerves. She enjoys music greatly, claiming that it paints pictures that she doesn’t need her eyes to enjoy.
Independent Mobility: A skill she has honed by necessity, Rishi has gotten quite skilled at navigating without even the use of her Wolf Sight, especially in a setting she is familiar with. During these times, she will use her long thin staff to help her check her footing, and that the path is clear, but only in her human form. In her wolf form, she trusts her senses and agility to ensure that she doesn’t make a misstep, and recovers quickly if she does.
weapons: She prefers to fight in her wolf form if at all possible, but in a pinch, she will use her staff as a weapon. She also carries a knife concealed in each boot, but she prefers not to use them for self defense. She is also not above using her strength to defend herself, especially if she finds herself unarmed and facing human opponents that she knows she can overpower.
strengths: Her biggest strength is that she is skilled at adapting to her situation, and using all of the information available to her, especially sensory information, to respond quickly to whatever the situation may be. She is also very hard to sneak up on, but is able to move nearly soundlessly when she wants to.
weaknesses: Her blindness, though she would never admit it, does pose a weakness. If an opponent is as skilled at moving soundlessly as she is, she could be taken by surprise. Her stubbornness is another big weakness, as it sometimes clouds her judgment. Her invulnerability, although it has the power to save her life, can also leave her as defenseless as a newborn pup, especially if she has to use it too often. Although her independence is often admired by others, she can sometimes be so stuck on doing something for herself that she will end up in an even worse spot, just because she refused to ask for help. She also has the weakness to blessed bamboo blades, which is common among her species.
personality: Rishiara is a very complex young woman. Despite her blindness, she is fiercely independent, doing her absolute best to get by in life without asking anyone for help. She does need the assistance of other wolves to “see”, but her preference is to always use her sister, Asena, and even then she tends to claim that her sister travels with her for companionship, rather than to help her navigate the world. She is a very intelligent woman, picking up skills quickly, once she finds a way that works for her to do them. She is very logical and actually very wise for her young age. She tends to behave more seriously, more often than not, especially when dealing with humans or handling things for her pack.
All of that hides and protects a gentle, compassionate heart that only desires to love and be loved - to feel safe, and make others feel safe in return. She was a very happy, carefree child, but for the most part she hides this side of her personality unless she is alone with her best friend, Haruhi, or her sister. She is afraid of being hurt, used, or rejected by someone she feels is important to her.
She is fiercely protective of those she cares for, or considers her responsibility, and she would sacrifice anything for the joy and safety of the ones she loves. Her loyalty is hard to earn, but equally hard to lose once it has been granted.
She has a very strong connection with nature, as well as a passion for protecting nature, and those creatures that call it home. Although she is not outright confrontational, she has spent her adult life traveling in order to rally for the rights of the forest and the animals and spirits who live there, even convincing Emperor Shun Yutai of Kutou and Empress Sumiko Katsurou of Hokkan to sign legislation making it illegal to hunt or enslave animal spirits, although these have proven to be difficult laws to enforce. She is very proud of her heritage as a Wolf Spirit and of her ability to overcome her blindness, and making any strike against her pride is a quick, sure way to see the sharp end of her temper. She is a bit quick to get angry, but she is also usually just as quick to cool down and see logic. She is not above being the first to apologize, unless she believes she was in the right.

She has developed a fond friendship with Kouhei, God of War, brought on by his respect for nature and her skills at moving swiftly and independently and using her staff to defend herself. He respects that both of her parents were strong Wolf Spirits.
how.do.they.feel.about.the.seishi.miko: It depends on how they treat her and the people and things she cares about. She is inclined to be respectful but not subservient.
how.do.they.feel.about.normal.humans: She treats most humans as equals, expecting the same level of common courtesy that she offers them. She does not see a future for her people that does not include humans, so she works hard every day to improve relationships between humans and the spirits of the forest.

Aiya: Rishiara’s mother, and the current leader of her pack. She is a black and white wolf, in her wolf form, and a middle-aged woman with long black hair just starting to turn gray. Her eyes in both forms are blue. She loves her daughters very much, and is proud of how strong and independent Rishi has become, although she worries that she will let the pains of the past keep her from finding her own happiness. She is slowly dying, and hopes that Rishi will marry Takeo, a recent addition to their pack, to stabilize the power and ensure the survival of the pack.
Asena: Rishiara’s younger half sister. She is seventeen years of age, and is a large silver and white wolf with silver eyes. As she is the child of a regular wolf and a wolf spirit, she has no human form, but she does enjoy many of the strengths of most Wolf Spirits. She is loyal to her sister, and strangely protective. She is Rishiara’s most common companion, and she tends to have a hard time accepting those who get closer to Rishi.
Tsume: - Link - Rishiara’s former lover. He was a new addition to their pack when she was about fifteen, and she was quickly enamored with him, but she discovered that he was using her to try and become the alpha of the pack, and he actually detested her for her blindness, just as her father had. Tsume had even taken another female of the pack as a secret lover. Both were banished when their deceit was uncovered, and Rishiara has made it a point not to allow another man thatt close to her again, no matter what.
Her Pack: Pretty self explanatory. This is the collection of wolves and wolf spirits she lives with. Recently, her definition of her pack has broadened significantly to include Takeo’s pack, as well as Haruhi and her clan, and any humans or humanoids she considers as close as family or very good friends. She would do anything to protect her pack and make them happy, though she resents the betrothal to Takeo as she feels like she’s a perfectly suitable pack leader without marrying the young alpha wolf.


history:
Rishiara was born the child of an Alpha and his mate in a pack of Spirit Wolves in the forests of Konan. Although not her father’s first child, she was the one he was most looking forward to, as she was to be his heir and take over the pack when his time came to an end. Sadly, this excitement was shattered shortly after her birth. Her father was disappointed that his heir was a girl, but was outraged when they discovered she was born completely blind. Deciding it was somehow the mother’s fault, her father rejected the child and her mother, but refused to grant them leave from the pack. He wanted to shame his mate and her - as he saw it - useless child. He took a new mate and produced a son, and that only served to shame those he rejected even more.

When Rishiara was five, her mother, Aiya, had decided that enough was enough, and slipped away with her child - without the Alpha’s permission - to start a new life. The pair ended up in Sailo, and joined up with a pack of normal wolves. Aiya soon fell in love with the gentle, accepting Alpha of this pack who loved and accepted Rishiara as his own pup. Before long, she had settled into a happy childhood, though she was mostly removed from the human world. She was overjoyed when she received a little sister. Asena did not have a human form, as she did, but she was soon very close with her big sister.

As she grew, she learned to control her powers as a Wolf Spirit, and was shocked and delighted to learn that she could use her Telepathy to “see” through the eyes of the others. This helped open up the world to her, especially considering Asena was almost always by her side to serve as her guide. The shy, unsure wolf spirit became more confident and outgoing, soon able to go anywhere in their home forest with or without the help of her sister. It was during this time in her life that she met the first wolf spirit since leaving her old pack. While exploring by herself one evening, she heard beautiful flute music and was drawn to its source. There she discovered Takeo, who was traveling with his father through the area. She invited him and his father to stay with them for the night, and by the time the two left their company, she considered him a friend. It seemed this was to be a time of great change for Rishi, as she also soon quickly befriended a kitsune named Haruhi. Haruhi’s clan had recently arrived from elsewhere, and the Kitsune had suffered a great deal, so Rishiara took it upon herself to look after the clan in general, and Haruhi specifically. She learned to play the Shamisen from her new friend, and the pair became very close. Upon hearing that Haruhi’s family had been attacked, and many were killed or enslaved, Rishiara became very passionate about the rights of the animals and Animal spirits that called the forests of this world home.

When she was old enough to begin traveling the world, she set out with Asena and did her best to start making things better for her people, and all those who lived in the forests. She was quite outspoken, and would plead her case to any noble or official who would hear her out. On one of her first trips to Kutou, she managed to gain an audience with the Emperor, who was very impressed with her and named her the official Ambassador of the Forest to the Kutou Empire. Before much longer, she held a similar title in the land of Hokkan. Despite her youth, she was already making a name for herself.

Upon returning to her home, she found that a small group of wolf spirits had joined up with her pack. One of these was a male just a bit older than herself named Tsume. She fell for him quickly, and he was always very affectionate and understanding. He supported her in all that she did, and once the relationship turned intimate, she thought she had found her one true mate. This hope and happiness was short lived, however, because it wasn’t long before she discovered that he had only been using her to become alpha of the pack, after Asena’s father had passed away, and he was having a secret relationship with one of the females that had come with him to their pack. The pair were cast out, and Rishiara was ashamed and embarrassed to realize they’d made a fool of her. She vowed that she would one day lead their pack without anyone’s help.

During one of her trips back home, after traveling to speak with a royal in Sailo’s capital, she was looking for her dear friend Haruhi to update her on her progress. Feeling a strange pull, and the sensation that Haruhi needed her help, Rishiara charged into a cave and found her dearest friend tortured and ill-used. She could not see through Haruhi’s eyes, but she did recognize the scent of the man who had mistreated the gentle Kitsune. She vowed from this moment on that she would one day make the water god, Maru, pay for what he had done, though she knew it was not her place to tell the others - it was Haruhi’s choice to tell whomever she liked - Rishiara did decide to have her pack relocate closer to the kitsune pack and to have her people watch over and protect them.

During a hunt just a few years ago, Aiya, Rishiara’s mother, was ambushed and attacked with a blessed bamboo blade coated in nightshade. Although she would normally be able to recover from such injuries and toxins, the blessed blade made it harder for the wolf spirit to heal, and thus it became known that the leader of the pack was dying a slow and agonizing death. She continued to rule with grace and compassion, but she worried about her daughters, should she die. About this time, Takeo and his clan joined with their pack, and Aiya agreed to let him lead upon her death if he would marry Rishiara and let her lead beside him. With this arrangement made, she has settled in and is just biding her time until she passes. Rishiara resents this betrothal, but loves and respects her mother enough not to dismiss it entirely.
