Hitomi.AkimitsuI need you now. Do you think you can cope? You've figured me out, That I'm lost and I'm hopeless, I'm bleeding and broken. Though I've never spoken, I come undone In this mad season…
JUST THE BASICS full.name: Akimitsu Hitomi aliases: N/A seishi.name: N/A age: Appears 20 gender: female sexuality: Heterosexual species: Frost Rabbit Goddess birthplace: New York City New York, United States position.or.occupation: former Genbu no Miko, now a Frost Rabbit Goddess and "pet" for Akhram. seishi.symbol.and.location: N/A affiliation: formerly Genbu. Now Akhram, and anyone else that earns her trust.
DON'T JUDGE ME appearance: Hitomi stands at 5'4", with a slim, fit build, and just enough curves to draw the eye. She has waist length blonde hair that she usually keeps braided. She has pale skin and deep, expressive red eyes. More often than not, she also has long white rabbit ears and a little cottonball tail. She typically dresses in a short black qipao with red and silver accents, and matching slippers. She almost never adds a cloak to this outfit, as she doesn’t like to feel too warm, though she does carry a pack when traveling that contains her musical instruments and few personal possessions. The only jewelry she wears is a simple leather cord around her neck, which holds a hand carved wooden ring, given to her by Shinta as a symbol of his love shortly before she summoned Genbu. face.claim: Nashetania Loei Piena Augustra from "Rokka no Yuusha (Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers)"
EVERYTHING'S INSIDE powers: Ice Powers: Hitomi can create and manipulate ice in multiple forms, including freezing people or objects, and creating weapons out of ice. These weapons are very strong, and can be just as deadly as steel, but they have a natural weakness against heat. When freezing an object, it can become more brittle, and easier to break. When freezing a person, she has to be able to focus, as it takes longer to lower their body temperature enough to freeze them solid. This is further complicated if the person is moving or struggling against her efforts. That said, she can occasionally "flash" freeze people or objects, but this is largely out of her control. Snow Powers: In addition to her ice manipulation, she can create and manipulate snow. She can summon up localized snowstorms, and cause snow to form into any shape she likes. In addition, she can animate these snow forms for a short time. They gain the ability to move, but cannot think for themselves. They are tougher than you would expect beings made of snow to be, but are better for defense than attack. Cooling Down: She is able to lower the ambient temperature of a room, actually making it very chilly, but this is usually more tied to her emotions than any intentional effort on her part. Immunity to the Cold: She is unaffected by the cold, and is actually most comfortable in a colder room, or outside in the snow. Likewise, she is more uncomfortable in a warmer setting, and has a harder time controlling her powers the warmer it is. Transformation: Hitomi has the ability to transform into a rabbit. She is also able to appear fully human, or some hybrid form. She usually uses her hybrid form, though it is unclear if she prefers it, or if this is some outward manifestation of her inner disturbance. Minor Accelerated Healing: Being a goddess, Hitomi is able to recover from injuries more quickly than normal humans, though she cannot heal other people. abilities: Hitomi enjoys music. It’s one of the few things that seems to bring her peace, and she is a skilled singer and musician, playing several types of flutes and stringed instruments. She is also very light on her feet which makes her a good dancer, as well as giving her the near-silent movement she needs to carry out some of the tasks Akhram orders her to do. weapons: None. She uses her powers whenever she must defend herself, or whenever she is instructed to cause harm to others. strengths: As mentioned above, her various ice and snow powers are all quite powerful, if only she could control them better. weaknesses: Hitomi’s main weakness is the lasting effects of the PTSD she suffers after the death of her love, Shinta. These include extreme anxiety, depression, nightmares and flashbacks, trouble sleeping, trouble connecting with others and feelings of loneliness. She has strong trust issues, but once she does trust someone, she will do as they say without question. She will not turn away from those she trusts unless given very strong, personal evidence that they have betrayed her, or do not care for her as they claim they do. She sometimes has violent reactions to things that trigger her anxiety. She also has a fear of small, inclosed spaces (claustrophobia). personality: In hr life before finding The Universe of the Four Gods, Hitomi was generally friendly and compassionate although she struggled once she moved to Japan, finding it hard to make friends with her classmates who often thought she was “too American”. She really flourished once she entered the world of the book, building close bonds with all of her Seishi, and feeling accepted for the first time since her parents died. Her personality proved to be gentle, compassionate, trusting and loyal. That all changed when she summoned Genbu and accidentally killed her beloved Shinta. After that, she suffered a mental break and became the woman she is today. She is much more quiet than she used to be, and often seems out of sorts. The lasting effects of her PTSD have made her someone more prone to panic attacks and fits of depression. She carries a deep sense of guilt for killing Shinta, and blames herself for her own loneliness. That said, there are rare moments when she seems to be more like she used to be. Moments where she will hear a lovely song, and feel at peace, or use her snow and ice powers to make pretty little shows for village children, just to make them smile. She clings to any scrap of affection she receives, and is loyal to a fault, almost never questioning the requests of one she trusts. This is because on some level she acknowledges that she isn’t the most mentally stable person around, and so she often does not trust her own judgment and instincts.
WHERE I COME FROM how.do.they.feel.about.the.Four.Gods: It’s complicated. On one hand, she is grateful that she was pulled into the book, as she was able to make friends and find her beloved Shinta, but on the other hand, she is angry with Genbu for giving her the ice powers that led to the death of her one true love. She regrets that he didn’t just allow her to stay, without transforming her into a goddess. how.do.they.feel.about.the.Four.Fiends: She pities them, in a way, understanding their position as victims of the Four Gods. That said, she dislikes that they have a tendency of harming innocents, especially Miko and Seishi. how.do.they.feel.about.the.minor.deities: She could take them or leave them unless they have either interacted with her personally, or Akhram tells her how to feel about them. how.do.they.feel.about.the.seishi.miko: She has a soft spot for them, and a great deal of respect. She will not cause them harm unless it is to save herself, and she will go out of her way to protect them. This is only doubled if the poor Miko has been able to find love within this world. how.do.they.feel.about.normal.humans: She is indifferent, unless they have interacted with her personally, or Akhram tells her how to feel. She has a soft spot for children and those who are helpless.
important.NPCs: Shinta: One of her seven Seishi, with the symbol Emptiness and the ability to control and manipulate ice. She fell in love with him and used one of her three wishes to ask Genbu to let her remain within the book so they could be together.Unable to control her own brand new ice powers, she accidentally froze him shortly after her transformation. Knocking over the frozen form, it shattered and he died. Although he has not lived for sometime, he is still a strong presence in her thoughts and she often speaks to him when she thinks she is alone. Akhram: A corrupt Sailo General that came across her during some traveling. He has managed to convince her that he is the reincarnation of one of her Seishi (though not her beloved Shinta) so she trusts and obeys him without question.
history: Hitomi was born in New York City to parents who were both classically trained musicians who immigrated from Japan. They died in a plane accident when she was 10, and she was sent to live with her maternal grandparents in Kyoto. Although she was fully Japanese, she had spent much of her formative years in America, which made it hard to connect with her peers once she moved to Kyoto. Many mistook her friendly and outgoing nature for rudeness - only made worse because she often forgot to use honorifica appropriately. Her grandparents loved her, but were very strict and often imposed harsh penalties in the hopes that she would outgrow the faults they believed she had picked up in America. Her grandfather passed away when she was fifteen, and her grandmother passed away when she was nineteen. She found the book just a year later when she was going through and packing her grandparents’ things in preparation for moving into her own apartment. She was summoned into the world within as the Genbu no Miko. In many ways, this gave her a new lease on life. After feeling like an outcast for the last ten years of her life, she found acceptance with her Seishi and the people of Hokkan. She developed strong, close friendships with all of her Seishi, and in one instance, friendship blossomed into love. Shinta was the Seishi that found her, upon her arrival, and went out of his way to make her happy and comfortable. He even gave her a pet to keep her company - a baby snowshoe hare she named Usa. Her bond was so strong with Shinta and her other Seishi that she used one of her wishes to stay in the book, rather than returning to her lonely life back home.
Genbu granted her wish by turning her into a goddess that embodied the qualities of the snowshoe hare she had adopted during her time in Hokkan. Unfortunately, she was not prepared to deal with all her new powers. She began to form ice around her. Seeing how frightened she was, Shinta went to her and tried to soothe her, promising to help her learn to control her new powers. Sadly, she lost control and froze Shinta solid. She then accidentally knocked him over, causing him to shatter and die. Overwhelmed with fear, guilt and shame, she ran away from her remaining Seishi and most of humanity, not wanting to hurt someone else.
For several years after that, she isolated herself and tried to come to terms with what happened, and her new abilities. She did gain a measure of control over her abilities, but her mental state deteriorated as she dealt with the traumatic aftereffects of the loss of her beloved by herself. Eventually she set out traveling, finally allowing herself around people once more, though she almost never stayed in one place for long. While traveling, she was discovered by Akhram, who convinced her that he was the reincarnation of one of her Seishi. He used her guilt over Shinta’s death and the shame of abandoning her beloved friends to convince her to serve him in Sailo. Since then, she has stayed by his side and done all he has asked her to do without hesitation, trusting him to know what is right when she doesn't trust herself.
