It was a lovely Saturday afternoon, Gina had returned from practice, the Okinawa festival would take place soon and she needed to be ready as she was one of the persons that took part in the samurai fighting drills, dangers and musical events. Gina had always been quite involved in this one festival and her family were so proud of her. She closed the door behind her, her parents had gone to the cinema with TingTing, they had adopted the cute Chinese girl and they had been sisters for a while now. They always got on well, but it had been interesting to find out how they could share their lived when there were so many years between the two of them. Gina did not mind though, she was so full of life she made everyone in the family happy and she always worked so hard to help when needed and to get good marks at school. She was precious to all of them and so, the age gap meant nothing as they had connected instantly.
She smiled softly and put everything away. She then decided to take a shower to refresh herself and to get ready for Hayate’s visit. After the refreshing shower she dried her long silvery snow hair and then decided to wear something comfortable so she put on some loose jeans and a lovely shirt that accented her figure and had long sleeves and a beautiful emerald pattern that suited her eyes.
She boiled some water as she knew Hayate would want to have some green tea once he arrived and she excitedly began to tidy the house for his visit. She was humming a melody she had recently learned to play with her flute, she made sure there were some cakes to go with the green tea. She had the teacup ready and the little cups as well. She set everything in the living room table. She then ensured that all the windows were closed with the exception of the one in the living room. She had a look at her reflection on the mirror just to make sure she looked lovely for her beloved.
She wondered if he would want to order food later or if they would be cooking something together. She blushed gently, Hayate was such a skilled young man, she did not know many who could do everything he could. She smiled gently and then thought that perhaps she could ask Meian or Yori about his favourite deserts and learn to make them for him. She would do this in secret though, to surprise him. She laughed softly, Meian would probably have a blast thinking of how embarrassed Hayate would feel if all of a sudden Gina started making his favourite desserts. She could not help it though, his faces were always priceless… And when he blushed or felt embarrassed well, she had never met a cutter guy. She never told him she though that though, she did not want him to think that she thought him weak.
She knew how easy it was for adults to misunderstand each other ver the silliest of things. She still remembered when she had first met Hayate, he had always been a gentleman but he never noticed how he always shone like a star in the sky. Everyone respected and admired him and to be honest Gina sometimes wondered why he had chosen her over all the ladies that he had wrapped around his finger.
And yet here she was, his beloved. She blushed thinking about it but she moved toward the window to feel the wind touch her skin. Maybe he thought of her the same way, that she chose him from all the fish in the sea. To be honest, it had not been difficult. He was charming, his sometimes grumpy sarcasm always made her laugh and how he had helped her father, he was selfless. She adored his family as well, of course, but everything was complementary to the wonderful man she now had for a boyfriend. She smiled softly, she had a gift for him, she knew the it was probably a bit silly to give a necklace to a man but, she had found these matching necklaces with silver chains, one had an amethyst rock and it reminded her of his eyes, the other had an emerald, which was the colour of her eyes. Surely he would not think her silly for wanting to express their relationship openly. She blushed and laughed softly, “Gina, you really have fallen head first into this relationship, and yet, I would not change it for the world.” She would gladly scream for the whole world to hear, “I love Hayate!” She laughed and leaned her back abasing the wall still enjoying the landscape she could see through the window, She could see the ocean shores a bit far away form the house as her father never liked living too close, and with good reason.

Hayate had a very busy morning. He’d had to work an early shift at one of his two jobs. He worked at a used bookstore part time, when he wasn’t helping Gina’s father with his dojo.It wasn’t that he needed the money, but he enjoyed the work His mother , Sumiko, was a very famous actress, and she traveled often, leaving his little sister Yori to his car. Yes, his brother Meian helped, but Hayate had always considered them both his responsibility, as he was the oldest.
After his shift, he had taken Yori to buy some things for her jewelry making, and had lunch with his mother, sister, and brother. He’d then spent the majority of the afternoon feeling nervous. It was ridiculous that he felt nervous, but he just couldn’t shake it.
He’d met Gina a long time ago, when his family had moved to Okinawa. For some reason, the pair had become fast friends, and it had felt like the most natural thing in the world when that friendship blossomed into love. Now he couldn’t imagine his life without Gina. So with that thought in mind, he had two presents for Gina. The first was a grange book he had found at the bookstore that morning - it looked old, but as he flipped through it, the pages seemed to be blank, and he thought she would like to use it as a journal. The second was a delicately crafted ring, made of sterling silver wire braided expertly together with little beads of genuine amethyst and emerald. Yori had made it for him in secret as an engagement ring. She was also working on a set of matching bands to serve as their wedding rings.
He hoped that Gina would not think he was rushing things too quickly, but he couldn’t imagine a life without her, and he hoped her father would grant his blessing. Hayate wanted to do things right, though, so he would give her the book first and then give her the ring after he had the chance to speak with her father.
At long last, it was time for him to meet Gina. He made sure his mother and sister didn’t need anything, and sent his brother a text to ask him to wish him luck. Meian was his best friend, aside from Gina, and although the pair were as different as night and day, he knew Meian would always have his back.
Putting the ring in his pocket, he tucked the book under his arm and set out walking. It wasn’t far to Gina’s house, and he smiled when he saw her standing in the open window. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, and she was as tough and intelligent as she was lovely. He was truly amazed by her every single day. as he drew closer, he smirke, and called out to her. “I was going to quote Shakespeare, seeing you at the window like that, but then I realized Juliet would be jealous of your beauty…” He continued up the walk to meet her at the door. As soon as he was able to, he wrapped an arm around her and pulled her in close, bending for a kiss. “I’ve got a surprise for you, my love…”

OOC: Meian’s brief cameo
IC:
Meian had been taking part in a photoshoot his mother had asked him to help her out with the photos for her latest movie dated in ancient Japan, he was dressed as a shinobi and his long red hair shook with the effects as he posted right next to the other characters in the movie. He usually did sword fighting and martial arts, acrobatics and even horse riding for movies as an extra. As soon as the photoshoot ended he kissed his mother on the cheek and then walked back to where his belongings were and he drank some water. He checked his phone and smiled reading Hayate’s message. So he was doing it? HE was taking the big step, he smirked he would have to give Yori a green tea flavoured kit kat as she seemed to have won their bet. He was happy for his big brother, though. He had done so much for his family it was only right he should find happiness in the arms of a loving woman like Gina. It was funny, part of him had wondered if they had been lovers in a previous life with how they connected all of a sudden and their passion was unlike anything he had ever seen before. He took another sip from his water bottle and then replied to his brother on his way to the changing rooms, “Hayate-kun, best of luck and don’t forget to wait till your wedding night.” He laughed, these customs were followed by some depending on their personalities and upbringing but he could not stop himself form teasing his brother even in a situation as serious and nerve wrecking as a proposal. But he wanted to also make sure he had his back, despite how much he always teased him, “It will be fine, just be yourself and remember how much you love each other. Don’t you dare walk away.” He smiled and then put his phone away knowing it would all work out eventually. It always did.
Gina was curious as to why Hayate wanted to hang out that day as they usually made plans together but she figured she would let him surprise her even though her curiosity was nagging at her. She smiled, it did feel exciting to know Hayate had something planned that he was not telling her of and she knew he enjoyed doing things like that for her just as much as she did whenever she planned something for Hayate in secret. This was partly such an occasion for she had got them matching necklaces and hoped he would like his, she figured it would be a lovely memento of their relationship hers would have the amethyst to signify his eye colour and he would have the emerald. They had gone a long way, she could scarcely believe how long they had been together already, a lot of people she knew struggled with relationships and she had been a bit weary at the beginning of their bond. And yet, here she was still as madly in love with Hayate as the day the confessed their mutual affections. She was happy that he had such a good relationship with her family, Aiko and TingTing, her adoptive sister, had taken a liking to him from the very beginning and Li Bing had tested him enough to satisfy his fatherly instincts. It did help that he had helped her father with his business at such a crucial time, otherwise the Dojo would have been shut down for good. She could still remember her father’s eyes when he told her that the business may not survive, it was the product of many years of his life, he lied the martial arts and teaching people to protect themselves in such an unsafe world but also to value life in order not to start needless fights. Violence was never the answer to any problem but if it could help innocent people get out of a pickle, then he would gladly oblige.
Of course Gina had no idea what a special day this would be, she did find it strange that her family had all gone to the cinema without her. She suspected that they wanted to let her have some alone time with her beloved but there was something else she could not put her finger on. And she would be unable to find out until Hayate arrived. The birds on nearby trees were singing beautiful melodies and she as more than tempted to take her shinobue (a type of Japanese transverse flute) and follow along the beautiful melody. She often found the sounds around her, especially those of nature, inspire her greatly in her musical endeavours and she learned songs to go along with these sounds or she would at times compose music for her shinobue. She was an outstanding musician although she still had much to learn in the realm of imposing melodies and being methodical enough to remember and write it all down. But she was slowly getting there, it was one of the hobbies she loved and that brought her so much happiness. Whenever she was stressed about something or unsure, whenever she needed to think hard about a decision or overcome grief or any negative emotion, her shinobue helped her keep a cool attitude and see things through a different perspective. Her activities as a professional dancer and martial arts performer also helped her for the exercise also helped her have a clear head. She was grateful for her parents for the things she had and the skills she picked up over the years although they had always been rather demanding parents with her and that made her become a perfectionist and she was never happy with her performances, she always thought she could do better.
She examined her appearance for the hundredth time and was about to walk away from the window when she spotted someone walking in the direction of her home. She smiled s soon as she saw the beautiful long dark hair and amethyst eyes, it was Hayate the man she was so in love with. She could not stop herself from blushing lightly as she noticed a change in him, he was planning something and she hear him smirk. That was exactly what he did before he teased her, she crossed her arms in front of her chest raising an eyebrow playfully at the sound of his smirk before he got close enough to tease her.
“I was going to quote Shakespeare, seeing you at the window like that, but then I realized Juliet would be jealous of your beauty…”
Gina’s pale cheeks took in a deeper shade of vermilion. He always caught her off guard with his teasing but she was always a person quick to tease back and then said with a smirk of her own, “Alas that would not do, I cannot have you duel Romeo for the right to compare Juliet’s beauty to mine.” She smiled and walked her to the door and opened it before he reached the porch. Once he was inside she closed the for behind them and allowed him to wrap her into a loving embrace and kiss her. She moved her arms around his neck and gently leaned on him to reach his lips longingly for a moment. She then gently pulled back and looked into his beautiful eyes, “I missed you.” She smiled and took his hand pulling him to sit by the sofa, “I made us some tea and sweets.” She busied herself pouring the tea and placing the treats on the table before she sat next to her beloved. She was a bit nervous partly because he had said he had a surprise and she did not know what it could be and partly because she had a surprise of her own. sometimes when she was nervous she tried to busy herself doing things around the house or entertaining guests with tea and treats in order to regain composure and now she was doing the exact same thing so that she would have enough courage to offer him the necklace she had gotten for him.
“I’ve got a surprise for you, my love…”
She smiled slightly cuddling next to him on the sofa, her eyes gleaming with excitement, “So do I. In fact, I want to go first.” She blushed lightly feeling a bit shy all of a sudden, but she still managed to take the little package out she then showed him the two necklaces and offering him the emerald she said, “I saw this the other day and could not stop myself, the chains were plain silver so it won’t be embarrassing to wear and then I figured I could have something that reminded me of your breathtaking eyes and get the same for you but with an emerald.” She gently placed the necklace around his neck and moved away his dark silken hair before she leaned to kiss his lips once more. She then moved to put the amethyst necklace around her neck. She blushed lightly and said, “Of course, if you do not like it I can always change it into something you can ware.” Why was she all shy so suddenly? It was so silly, she had dealt with every obstacle in her life with bravery and boldness and when it came to Hayate, she felt like a shy woman at times, especially when she was not sure how he would react to things. She nearly laughed at herself, he must think her silly right? Still she was so happy they could spend time together, she took a sip of her tea to calm her nerves and then said smiling at him, “I’m so glad we got to spend time like this together today.”
