appearance: Miyuna is a young woman of outstanding beauty. She stands at 5’8” which is a bit above the average height of a woman and has a slender and curved body. She has beautiful golden-amber eyes that sparkle with a light of their own especially during the day. She also has beautiful long dark blue hair with shades of lighter blue, the hair falls below her waist and to the back o her knees. She is usually wearing the garb of the royal house of Sailo, however, whenever she sneaks out with her sister Masao she wars more comfortable travelling clothes.

abilities: Miyuna is a skilled tailor and seamstress and also an avid player of the shinobue (a type of Japanese transverse flute). She enjoys reading greatly and has earned great wisdom and a thinking mind that has developed through the many years of reading all sorts of book, from ancient history to mythology, battle tactics and philosophy, maths and physics, among others. She enjoys learning and will take up as many little hobbies as will grant her knowledge. She has learned how to carve wooden figurines and wards as well, as another example of the little skills she has developed throughout the years.

strengths: Her greatest strengths is the power of her mind as an avid thinker, although she wields no weapon, she can always come up with a plan of escape for most situations that do not require facing an opponent in battle. And so whenever possible she avoid the later for she is powerless to protect herself at a physical level. The level of wit and intelligence of Miyuna has often given her a step at important political gatherings with her father the Emperor whenever a battle strategy or any kind of tactic might be needed to ensure the well-being of the people of Sailo. She also has great charisma and a particular way with words that often gets her away from trouble and influences others into feeling fondness and devotion toward the Princess. Although she does not think she can charm every single being with her words she will try, however, she is aware she cannot buy her way out of eery situation with words and that is why, albeit begrudgingly, she had accepted to have an imperial samurai appointed to guard her at all times.
weaknesses: Even though Miyuna has a brilliant mind and charisma that earns her the hearts of those around her, she is aware that she cannot escape every situation with the power of a good strategy or her words alone. So if she were ever exposed to a situation that required her to wield a weapon she would be done for, she has no skills to protect herself nor can she wield any magic as her mother forbade her to take to any such activity deeming it unladylike.
personality: Miyuna is a rather witty person and despite the fact that she is unable to protect herself like her brothers and sister, she is not a fool and her mind gives her the opportunity to escape most situations that do not require a weapon. Still it is her mind that has charmed the hearts of many for she is wise beyond years, she has an astounding battle strategy for most situations and is well regarded within the circles of royal advisors and philosophers. This also unmasks a gentle person who is not too keen on being the centre of attention, who will not impose her opinions on the matters at hand and who never argues with her father the Emperor or even her mother, even if at times they may be on the wrong. She believes in going everyone a chance to earn her respect but that also comes with a deep fear for being hurt and if that trust turns to be ill-founded then it will be difficult for her to forgive, unless her feelings for that person surpass anything even reason.

Alongside her rather shy personality, Miyuna is also gentle and compassionate and cares for others deeply. She feel deeply toward her people and those who suffer and she does everything at hand to convince the Emperor and his advisors to put in laws that protect the vulnerable. She believes that as long as she can do something to help others she should do it no matter how much it may cost her.

history: Miyuna was born at the Sailo royal Palace amongst the royal family’s attempt to normalise her birth and dissipate any scandals that may arise from her being an illegitimate child. The Emperor quickly appointed Mina, a royal advisor, as an official concubine and that created a rift between her and the Emperor and his family, even though show s well looked after she felt the Emperor should have made her queen and so she leashed all her frustrations onto Miyuna and her since she was a young child her mother has not given her an ounce of affection or approval. She grew up respecting the royal family greatly and the Emperor tried to get her to bond with her siblings and the Empress and though it took some effort from her part eventually her siblings adored her and as soon as her wit and cariama improved so did the Emperor and Empress. This did not please Mina, however, for she thought Miyuna would be her means to take her the Empress’ seat but she could never do anything so horrible, she was a gentle soul and was greatly loved by everyone around her.

She became the best of friends with her younger sister Masao and learned to accept the fact that her mother had placed her affections and ambitions on the wrong man, a married man and Emperor of Sailo. This made Miyuna disagree more with her mother and though she never hated her, she pulled away with time and decided she did not love the people of Sailo and only thirsted for power. It was her obsession with power that forced her to be exposed to countless marriage candidate from a tender age, she believed that if she would alas as much power and troops and manipulate the husband then Mina could take her the Empire of Sailo and once that happened she could have her daughter killed so that she would not sure a child that would then take the throne from her. This greatly distressed Miyuna but she never spoke about it, for she had a family that loved her and wished to see her happy. And yet, she knew that because she felt undeserving of their affections due to the selfish misdeeds of her mother Mina, she seldom spoke for herself and allowed anyone to chastise her and she would take the criticism silently and with a gentle smile even if the words would deeply wound her.

It was around the age of sixteen that the Emperor, worried that her mother had prevented Miyuna from learning to protect herself-mainly to ensure she could be easily taken out once she was no longer of use to her-that an imperial samurai was appointed to her by the name of Takumano Takeshi. Since she was unable to protect herself she ended up spending a lot of time with the young and mighty samurai and as the years passed on their relationship mode from protector and protégée to that of friends and soon after she realised that she ha romantic feelings toward her brae samurai but aware that her mother would do anything to destroy the man she loved should she her find out, she was a bit more careful whenever they were in public, however, when they were alone she found it harder and harder every day to suppress her deep affections toward him also worried that he would not return such feelings.

This happiness did not last long, however, for Mina soon noticed the way they looked at each other and an imperial samurai would not get her the crown she so wished. Three years later, Mina plotted alongside Ichitora to hire a demon to attack Miyuna looking exactly like Takeshi and then break their bond and have him exiled due to the crimes he committed. The only reason he was not sentenced to death was because Miyuna and Eri had interceded before the Emperor and Empress and Masao, knowing of their mutual affections could not let the man her elder sister loved be killed right before her very eyes, crime or no crime. Due to the fact that it appeared like Ichitora had saved Miyuna, the Emperor and Empress warmed up to him marrying Miyuna and she knows that her time is running out and eventually she will have to take his hand in marriage, even though, despite the deep pain, her heart still beloved to Takeshi. And she grieved his loss every day and wondered if he was alive and well. She plays every night the bittersweet melody with her shinobue that she composed for her beloved and hopes that one day, he will return to her, even if he had attacked her that night. This affected her mood considerably, and though she was still gentle, compassionate and would smile when in the companies of others, she would gripe and cry and play her instrument to drown her sorrows whenever she was alone.
