appearance: Takeshi is tall, standing at about 6’7”, with a muscular but not bulky build, and lightly tanned skin. He has waist length black hair that he keeps pulled back with a white ribbon he got from Miyuna. His wtws are a deep blue, but feature heavy scarring, particularly around his left eye. He dresses in loose fitting, comfortable and practical dark colored clothing, mostly browns and blacks, with the only brighter colors come in the form of the white ribbon he ties his hair back with - which had belonged to Miyuna - and a dark red strip of silk that has been fashioned into a blindfold to hide both the massive scaring and the unseeing eyes. He ties the strip of fabric across his eyes, knotted behind his head, with long ends that hang down past his waist, even with his hair. He has a few scars from his time as a sword for hire, but most notable besides the scarring over his eyes is a tattoo that covers the left half of his chest.(image of tattoo: images.app.goo.gl/bxWGiBasdRknfFhs7) this tattoo is a mark of the deal he made with the dark magician, Kyouaku.He also wears a necklace on a silver chain around his neck, though it is always tucked inside of his clothing, and well out of sight. It is a delicately crafted silver branch with tiny pink gemstones forming little blooming cherry blossoms.

powers:
Mental Mapping:; one of the abilities gained after his demon deal. Takeshi has the supernatural ability to sense objects and people within the room he is in. Even if someone is hiding from his senses, he is aware of their presence and can "see" their placement in relation to the room. This power does not allow him to sense things through walls, and the closer he is to something, the more detailed his mental image of it is. If someone is standing right in front of him, it is as if he can see them perfectly, but the further away they get, the blurrier and less distinct they are.
Short Distance Teleportation: another power gained from his demon deal, Takeshi can teleport short distances, so long as the places would normally be within the line of sight, if he can summon a detailed mental image of the location. In either instance, the distance cannot exceed about 30 feet from his current location.
Creation by Speech: The third and final ability that Takeshi received as part of his demon deal. He has the ability to speak objects into existence. Simply by forming a detailed mental image, he can speak the name of an object and it appears. The larger the object, the more energy it takes, and the copy is only as accurate and detailed as his mental image, and if it is a functional item, he must understand how it works for his copy to [reform the same function. He could not speak the words “electric light” (even if he knew what they were) and make a functional one appear. He also has the choice to keep the object in existance or release it and have it fade away to nothingness. This can be beneficial because if he is badly injured, releasing items he has created with this ability can help him recover a bit faster. Nothing drastic, just a little boost.
abilities:
Swordsmanship: As a former Imperial Samurai for Sailo, Takeshi has trained to be among the best of the best when it comes to swordsmanship. He is very skilled with a blade, even able to deflect throwing knives and darts with his blade. He suffered a setback when he lost his sight, but he has trained over the last few tears to use his remaining senses - and the abilities he gained from Kyouaku - to regain his considerable skill with the blade, enough so that he has been able to become a sword for hire in order to provide for himself.
Acute Senses: Yakeshi has no supernaturally enhanced senses - aside from his metal mapping - but he has learned to pay greater attention to what his senses tell him. He’s learned to detect faint odors, distant sounds - and lack of sounds - and the slightest difference in textures.He uses these skills as much as his mental mapping to navigate the world and keep his charges safe.
Poetry: As a young man, he found he had a gift with words, and he took to writing poetry.Although usually simple verses, they are always heartfelt and genuine, and portray his true feelings. Since losing his sight, he has still composed poetry, but with no way to write it down, he has simply committed it to memory. Although his early poetry was focused on nature or his childhood, or other such topics, much of his poetry since meeting Miyuna has been about her and his growing love for the beautiful, gentle princess. After losing his sight, much of it centered on his depression at being forced away from her, and at losing her love and trust for something he did not do.
Biwa (Japanese Lute): In addition to his poetry, he has shown a skill for playing the Biwa from an early age. He has continued to play, even after losing his sight as it’s a way to express himself without needing to write anything down.
Outdoor Skills: As a young man, and once becoming an Imperial Samurai, he has mastered many outdoor skills such as setting up and breaking down camp, traversing difficult woodland paths, and hunting or fishing and cooking meals. When he lost his sight, he had to relearn many of these skills but he was able to do so, especially once gaining his mental mapping ability.
Detailed Memory: Takeshi has always had a very detailed memory which allowed him to pick up on small things and remember them for quite some time after. It is the reason he can mentally compose poetry and recall it word for word years later. It is also the reason he is positive he could remember Miyuna’s delicate perfume, even all these years later.
weapons: Takeshi is a man of habit. Heno longer has his service katana - the one he used as an Imperial Samurai - but he has a katana he got second hand shortly after his deal with Kyouaku It’s not the newest or the best made, but he takes good care of it and it does what he needs it to do.
strengths: Besides the obvious strengths his powers and abilities grant him, his biggest strength is probably his loyalty and his sense of justice. Both are things he takes very seriously, and they guide all of his decisions. Although he’s always had these traits, they have definitely intensified since the betrayal he and Miyuna suffered.
weaknesses: Besides the obvious limitations caused by his blindness, and the limitations to his powers,he has a weakness for Miyuna specifically, and young, tragic lovers in general. His inclination is to help those he perceives as being in the same or a similar situation as himself or Miyuna, and that can be used to manipulate him.
personality: Takeshi has a gentle, loving, protective soul. Although he is not shy, and he is not weak, he has never seen any shame in admitting that he feels the way he does about anything in his life.He feels more deeply than some, and is - to an extent - ruled by his emotions.He is fiercely loyal and quick to forgive others small offenses, though he will hold even the smallest mistake against himself for quite some time. The exemption to this is when he feels manipulated or betrayed, in which case he will hold a grudge until he feels the score has been settled satisfactorily.
He is fiercely protective of those who cannot defend themselves, and will risk his own life and wellbeing without a second thought if it would keep another safe. This was the quality that made the Emperor choose him to protect Miyuna from the plans and plots of her mother. A betrayal of loyalty - towards him, or someone else - is the worst offense imaginable to Takeshi, and that is the reason he has vowed to bring Akhram and Mina both to justice, as well as any others that have helped them in their twisted quests for power. He has a very loving and compassionate side, though he has allowed that to be less visible in recent years, as he knows people would quickly take advantage of his nature. This means that sometimes he seems cold and distant, though this is usually done in an effort to keep himself and others from being hurt emotionally.He was devastated by the loss of honor he suffered, but that was more due to the fact that Miyuna thought he had betrayed her, and the fact that this loss menat he could no longer protect his beloved. This loss of honor would not bother him as much as it does if it had been caused by something he did, but it angers him that he was framed, tortured, and tossed aside without ever getting to share his side of the story. This is the driving force behind almost all of his actions. He wants to prove his innocence so that those responsible can be punished, and Miyuna will know that he had never betrayed her and that she may now live a happy, peaceful life.
He wants the truth revealed, but he does not expect Miyuna to forgive him, as he doesn’t think he deserves it. Even though he did not betray her, he does feel responsible for letting himself get captured, and being unable to prevent her from searly suffering harm. He also realizes that even though he still loves her with all of his heart, he is not the same man he once was, and he does not think she would be able to love the man he has become, even if they were to meet again.
In battle, he will do whatever he must to defend those on his side, especially the injured and defenseless, and he will not hesitate to make someone else’s battle his own if he feels he could help their cause, and it is a just one. Though he is a sword for hire, he has been known to turn away clients if he doesn’t like something abou them or the job they want done.His tendency is to fight fairly and with honor, but he will do whatever he must to ensure the survival of hose he has promised to protect, and he will go to nearly any lengths to survive at least until his ultimate goal is accomplished and Miyuna is safe from the plots of others.

how.do.they.feel.about.the.Four.Gods: Respect, though he’s not a particularly religious man, he knows that it would be foolish to treat beings with that sort of power with anything less than the utmost respect.
how.do.they.feel.about.the.Four.Fiends: He has not personally encountered any of them, however he detests those who bring harm to the innocent.
how.do.they.feel.about.the.minor.deities: As with the four main Gods, he has a healthy respect for them as powerful beings, and he has a great deal of respect for some more than others. He had met Kouhei, and greatly respects him.
how.do.they.feel.about.the.seishi.miko: He has a great deal of respect. He knows one of the Princesses of Sailo, Masao, is a Seishi of Byakko, and because of his loyalty to her nd a few other Seishi he has met (namely Eri and Rindou) he is generally inclined to assist any Seishi or Miko he may meet.
how.do.they.feel.about.normal.humans: This depends greatly on the person. He will treat others as they treat him, and he will strike down the evil and corrupt as quickly as he will defend the good and just.

important.NPCs:
Akhram: Corrupt Sailo General, and the man Takeshi wants to gert revenge upon for the torture he suffered while Miyuna was attacked by someone who looked like him.
The Noble Bandits: A group of bandits Takeshi has befriended, especially their leader, Rindou.He met her on one of his jobs as a bodyguard, and the pair became friends.
Yuuto, Shizuka and Shinya: Three orphan children Takeshi found in a village shortly after he was disgraced, but before meeting with Kyouake. The village had been ransacked by a local corrupt lord and his minions. The three children were left orphaned when their parents were killed defending their homes, and although the children are not siblings, they consider each other their siblings now, and call Takeshi “Papa Taki” and Rindou “Aunt Rin”. Yuuto is a seven year old boy with choppy orange hair and green eyes who idolizes Takeshi and says he wants to be a Samurai when he grows up. Shizuka is an eight year old girl with while hair and gray eyes. She tries her best to be mature and look after the other two. She is an avid reader, and Takeshi often brings her new books. Shinya is a seven yar old girl with brown hair and eyes. She is a kind, gentle child who often adopts little animals to take care of them until thet are well enough to be released in the wild again.

history:
Takeshi es born the onlt child of a young guard and his wife in a small villiage outside the capital. The mother died in childbirth, and his father was left to raise and provide for his so by himself. As a result, he taught his son to be strong,bave and loyal - all traits he prided in himself - but also to be wise, gentle, artistic and well-rounded - all traits he loved in his late wifr. He trained Takeshi to be a samurai as he was, and also encouraged him to be well read and to play his mother’s Biwa lute. When Takeshi was fifteen, his father was killed prtecting the Emperess from an assassin, and Takeshi was left alone. Unsure what else to do, he applied to be an Imperial Samurai as his father was, He was admitted and trained hard to make a name for himself. Bt the time he was twenty years old, he was well regarded among he Imperial Samurai.

His life changed forever when he was assigned to the older of the two Princesses, Miyuna, to be her persona lguard. Although illigetimate, Miyuna was loved by all of the royal family, and treated the same by them as her little sister, Masao, always was. For his part, Takeshi was impressed by her kindness and intelligence. Still, he thought that he maintained enough disane to preform his job without bias. The two quickly bonded over reading and music, and friendship soon blossomed into love. He was not so bold as to assume he had anything to offer a princess, and so he limited his affections to the poerty he wrote, which he never expressly said was about her, though it secretly was and anyone who knew him could tell. At last, When Miyuna was nineteen and he was twenty-three, he saved up and bought a lovely, dainty necklace made of silver and little pink genstones that were arranged to look like a blooming cherry blossom branch. He intended to give her this nexklace and confess his love for her, asking for her hand in marriage.

Sadly, this was never to be. Miyuna’s conniving mother plotted to tear them apart and had him kidnapped and tortured by Akhram While a demon disguised as him went to attack Miyuna, making it seem as if her love had etrayed her. He had told the general he was not worthy of looking at the lovely princesses, and Akhram had reacted in anger, causing severe injury to his eyes. Though he retained very limited vision out of his right ee, by the time he was releasedm his entire world had ben shattered. Akhram had also found the little cherry blossom nechlace and destroyed it right in front of Takeshi.

He was convited of the attack and banished - spared from death only by the arguments in is favor by the princesses and his friend Eri. He refused to give in to dispare, instead beginning to travel to find some way to regain his sight so he could get his revenge on those who had put his beloved Miyuna in danger. He found a village in ruins, and a small group of orphaned children just trting to get by, and his heart went out to them. Despite the fact that he could hardlt care for himself, he took the three children with him, settling them in a new village with the help of Rindou - a bandit he had recently befriended - and her group of noble theives. The young Seisi agreed to help look after the children when he could not, and promised that she would see that were provided for.

A year after the betrayal of his beloved Miyuna, Takeshi encounted a demon magician named Kyouaku. The demon promised him the power to defend the innocent and eventually clear his name and out those truely behind Miyuna’s attack in exchange for a sacrifice of sorts. Kyouaku demanded that Takeshi trade his emaining vision for the power he was being promised, and fter intense internal deate, Takeshi agreed. He would do anything to have Miyuna finally, truelt safe.

He spent the next three years learning how to use his newly granted powers, and learning to navigate without his sight. Some of his powers helped, but it was still an adjustment. Rin helped him practice his swordfighting, and work his way back up to the level of skill he had before being blinded.

He has built a reputation as a skilled sword for hire, and has earned monet by playing his moher’s old Biwa and reciting his poetry inbetween jobs. The vert first object he created with his new power was an exact replica of the necklace he had intenede to give to Miyuna. He wears it hidden away as a constant reminder of why he cannot give up.
