appearance: Zuzu is very much an average five year old. She stands at exactly 3’, though she’s growing quickly, and is slim and willowy, for the most part, with a bit of baby fat remaining in her face. She has darker skin like her big brother, and long curly black hair that hangs past her waist when it is loose. Her eyes are a bright golden color, and her features resemble Shian in a lot of ways. She loves bright pretty colors, and whether she is wearing a qipao or kimono, she favors shades of pinks, purples, and sky blues, though she will also wear golden yellow, as people often say it compliments her skin tone and eye color.She most often wears her hair up in twin pigtails that poke far out to either side of her head in a massive cascade of curls. She does have a simple seashell necklace that had belonged to her mother , and she wears it at all times.

EVERYTHING'S INSIDE
powers: Zuya inherited the abilities of women in her mother’s family. It is most often described as being a ‘Medium’, but it is a bit different from others who claim the title. For one thing, though she can see the spirits of the dearly departed, she is able to physically interact with them, as she would with a living person. In addition, if the person died from an injury or wound, she is able to see that injury on their spirit. She has one very unique ability, along with her ability to see ghosts. In short, Zuya is able to see the souls of all living creatures. She can look at a person and see their soul. This tells her if they are human, god, or demon, as well as generally what sort of person they are. It is not the same level of insight as reading minds, but it paints a clear enough picture for her to decide if a person can be trusted. As she is so young, and her mother died before completing her training, she does not fully understand what she sees when she looks at a person, but she can often tell someone has a ‘pretty’ soul, which serves as a basis for whether or not she can trust them.It is very likely that her ability to understand what she sees in the souls of others will grow and strengthen with time and exposure to souls to “read.”
abilities: Zuya is a very skilled dancer, moving very gracefully despite her young age. She loves music and tries to play any instruments she finds laying around, even if she doesn't know how. This graceful movement extends past her ability to dance. Unlike most children her age, she is very graceful and almost never falls or stumbles. Even when carrying something, she is rather skilled at keeping her balance.
weapons: None, originally, but very soon after she arrives at the palace, she will steal a broken bokuto (wooden training sword) from the training room and use that to 'train' like her big brother and Akahanna. Eventually, Akahanna will get her one that is appropriate to her age and size.
strengths: Zuya’s strength lies in her intuition, when it comes to her ability to see souls. She can tell instantly who is trustworthy and who is not, and can often determine how much of her insight she should make known. Another strength is her personality and her outgoing nature.
weaknesses: Zuya has many of the weaknesses of a child her age. She cannot defend herself, and she can only understand her own abilities in a very limited capacity. She is also dreadfully afraid of the dark, especially if she is alone in the dark.
personality: Zuya is in many ways the typical five year old girl. She loves playing and making friends. She’s a very loving person, and is quicker to assume someone is a friend than anything else. She is mostly a very obedient child, always doing as her mother and father instructed, though she does have a bit of a mischievous streak. She loves playing games and sneaking treats from the kitchen, and making little gifts for those she loves. She is a very generous child, and would give up even her most treasured possession if it would make someone else happy. She loves animals and seems to bond with them quickly, though she is just as likely to play with a ghost as anyone else, not seeming to understand that others cannot see them. Overall, she is an optimistic, energetic, loving child who only wants to make others as happy as she generally feels herself.

important.NPCs: Ambassador Yikao: Zuya and Shian’s father. He had been a minor noble in Kutou, but after sending his son to the palace, Emperor Shui strongly encouraged him to relocate, allowing him to become one of the ambassadors to Konan. Although he is a good father to the children he has with his wife, he seems to only feel inconvenienced by his illegitimate children, both born many years apart to a servant girl who was much younger than he was. She fell ill and died recently, and the Ambassador cannot be bothered to look after Zuya anymore.

history: Zuya was born the second illegitimate child Ambassador Yikao had with a younger servant woman named Ani. Her mother had insisted that she could teach the girl to cook and clean, and help with the chores around the house, and that was the only reason the child was not sent away like her much older brother, Shian. Ani loved Zuya, and made it a point to teach her from a very young age not only how to be obedient, but also how to read the souls that she knew her young daughter could see. Zuya lived a very happy childhood with her mother, playing and singing, and being treated - by her mother, at least - like any other child. The problem came just after her fifth birthday when her mother fell ill. Ani passed away, and Ambassador Yikao found himself with a problem. He did not want to take care of the child until she was old enough to be useful, so he decided that the next time he went to the capital in Kutou, he would take the child and drop her off with her older brother. Zuya was to become Shian’s problem, and the Ambassador would be able to resume his normal course of events.
