appearance: Tetsuya is 6’3”, with a lean, muscular build. Hw has pale skin, straight red hair that comes to his upper back, and clear, friendly blue eyes. He usually keeps his hair pulled back into a low ponytail with bangs that fall down to about eye level, and two forelocks that fall onto his chest. His tiger form is a white bengal tiger with black stripes. His eyes are the same shade of clear, bright blue, but have the typical feline appearance, and he is a bit larger than a natural tiger.
He usually wears simple, practical dark colored clothes when he travels, and sturdy black boots. When he is performing at festivals during he day, he has a brightly colored outfit that includes a bright purple, green and blue vest - worn open over a bare chest - and baggy pants that are red, yellow and orange. He also wears pointed slippers that are sewn together and feature all of the other colors of his outfit, as well as little silver bells that jingle when he moves. When dressed like this, It is not uncommon for him to also use face paint and to allow his tiger ears and tail to show, as most people think they are just part of his costume.
When performing at night for festivals, he dresses in a deep blue silk shirt and black pants with black slippers. He does not let his ears or tail show, and is definitely more subdued in his fashion. This is because his brighter outfit is meant to appeal to children, while mostly adults are attending festivals after dark.

EVERYTHING'S INSIDE
powers: As a tiger spirit, TTetsuua has many powers.
Transformation: He has the ability to transform from his tiger form to his human form at will, and can also have a partial transformation that allows him to make his ears and tail visible. He can also choose to have the more feline appearance to his eyes when in his human form, or his partial transformation.
Enhanced Senses: Like many other animal spirits, he has enhanced senses. Though they are the strongest in his tiger form, he can still see, smell and hear better than many humans, and he has a more sensitive sense of taste and touch.
Accelerated Healing: Although not impervious to injury, he can recover much quicker than humans and some non-humans. He also has an advanced immune system, meaning he does not get sick easily, and if he does, it is less severe, and clears up more rapidly.
Telepathy: Primarily with other tigers and tiger spirits, but if he is concentrating, he has the ability to reach other people. He can communicate with others, but he cannot ‘read minds’ and fish out information.
Increased Speed and Strength: although not abnormally strong for animal spirits, he is faster and stronger than most humans, and many of his own species. This is not on a level equal to those with superhuman speed or strength, but he is faster and stronger than many people expect him to be.
LightManipulation: Tetsuya can manipulate all the light of the visible spectrum. This ability has run in his family for generations, and he has developed several variations on it over the years, includingL
Prismatic Colors: He can manipulate the visible light to make people and objects - himself included - appear any color he wishes, or a rainbow of colors. He uses this a lot when he is performing for children, and will make either his black stripes or his white fur appear rainbow colored. This is almost always credited to some illusion or sleight of hand. He is unable to change the actual color of something, only the color it appears as long as he is focused on doing so.
Invisibility: Not exactly “true” invisibility, Tetsuya is able to bend the light around others and himself at will, giving the appearance of invisibility. It is not without its flaws, however. He cannot make others silent or intangible, and so someone who is hidden in this way can still make noise or knock over things, or something like that to be detected. This also will not hide other senses, like smell, from someone else, and those who have abilities that allow them to see through such illusions will not be fooled
Sparklers: Another illusion like his Prismatic Colors, he is able to manipulate light into something appearing to be fireworks, only without the need to deal with explosives. HE can also create far more intricate patterns when he uses this ability than normal fireworks could ever achieve. He often uses this ability when he is performing magic, or at night to accompany his music as he plas.
abilities:
Musician: Although Tetsuya does not sing well (he is not tone deaf, but he also hasn’t got the loveliest singing voice around - despite the fact that his speaking voice is deep and rather melodic) He is very skilled with a number of musical instruments. He can play the koto, the hichiriki flute, and the Rin (also known as singing bowls or standing bells). He knows how to play many other instruments, but he only carried these three with him, and they are his favorites.
Magician: He is very skilled at feats of sleight of hand. HE can perform many simple magic tricks, and can also perform some bigger and more elaborate tricks. He could use this skill to pickpocket, but he is far too honest for that. His use of his powers during his performances are often credited to him being a magician, which is how he can show them off in public without anyone figuring out that he is actually a tiger spirit.
Dexterity and Agility: Although not a supernatural ability, he is much more nimble and light on his feet than people expect. He can juggle almost anything, and has an impeccable sense of balance. He is also capable of many acrobatic feats, and it's not ablove throwing these into his shows for a little extra coin.
Ink Drawing: As a bit of a contrast to his active, energetic feats as an entertainer, he’s very fond of - and skilled in - ink drawing. It helps him relax, and he has learned to mix his own inks which let him add just a pop of color in a detail that can make the difference between simply “pretty” and “breathtaking”. He will sell these drawings for money, but as they are not his main source of income, he is also just as likely to simply give them away if he thinks it will bring joy to someone.
Martial Arts: He has trained to learn several types of martial arts, though his fighting style is to sort of combine them all into whatever best fits his situation. He’s also likely to use some of his acrobatic skills to gain the upper hand, and he will also sometimes mix some martial arts into his performances.
Herbal Knowledge: useful when making his own ink for his drawings, or mixing his own facepaints, he has learned the many and varied uses - both cosmetic and medicinal - for a wide variety of herbs, plants, fruits and vegetables. and tends to keep a good stock of them on hand, as he never knows when he may need them.
weapons: None. He trusts his powers and abilities - and in a pinch she, his teeth and claws in his tiger form - to keep himself and others safe.
strengths: a major strength is his ability to think quickly, and react swiftly. Although many discount him as being very simple-minded, or a fool, he is actually very intelligent, and moreover, he knows how to use his intelligence to his advantage.
weaknesses: a major weakness is caring nature, which can land him in trouble whenever he tries to help others. Another weakness is the fact that none of his abilities are inherently geared toward self-defense, or offensive attack. He is able to camouflage, but most rely on his physical strength and quick wits in case of that old. He has Thalassophobia, which is the fear of large, deep bodies of water. Does his absolute best to avoid any body of water where he can either not touch the bottom (although anything over waist deep makes him nervous, even if he can still touch the bottom) or where he cannot see the opposite side of the shore. A very narrow stream that is too deep for him to simply wait across, and too wide enough for him to jump would trigger his phobia, as would a surprisingly shallow lake that is large enough that he cannot readily see the other side. Although it mostly manifests as an aversion to such bodies of water, if for some reason he is forced into a body of water like this, it will turn into a flat out panic where all reason and logical thinking go out the proverbial window.
personality: Tetsuya is a very friendly, open and cheerful person. Genyle, generous and compassionate, he is always willing to go the extra mile for someone else, even if he doesn't really know them. He is usually very fun loving and carefree, and he’s always looking for a way to make someone else smile or laugh. He doesn’t like when others are sad - especially if he unintentionally made them that way - and he will pull out all the stops to try and make them happy again. At his core, he loves happiness, and wants to share it with others. He has been known to give away personal possessions or one of his ink drawings if a person has had a bad day, and he thinks it may cheer them up. Also, despite the fact that he makes enough money to cover his expenses and live fairly comfortably, he does not spend more money than he has to on himself. He will not buy cheap, low quality things, but he is also never the type to buy the most expensive items just to show how much he can afford. Again, he will just as quickly treat a stranger or three to a meal as but himself something just because he likes it
He has a rather cunning intellect, and a strategic mind when he stops to actually think about it. He is usually able to quickly think his way out of nearly any problem - unless it triggers his fear of water - and he can usually think clearly enough to enact the plan he comes up with. Part of the reason his skillset is so varied is that he learns new skills quickly, and mastery soon follows. HE does get tired of these skills from time to time, and drops some in favor of others. For every skill listed above, he has at least two more that he had taken up at one point, but abandoned quickly after. Notable - if only for its absence from his list of skills and abilities - is the fact that Tetsuya cannot cook to save his life. He is the type to burn water, and anything he tries to cook either turns out charred beyond recognition, or else is still too undercooked to eat. That said, he has a cast iron stomach, and is the only being alive able to stomach his own cooking, though he’ll only do that if he’s forced to set up camp outdoors for a night or two. If he has the option, he’d rather go to an inn or tavern and let them handle the cooking. He does have a very finely tuned sense of taste, and he loves both sweet and savory foods, but at the end of the day he can eat anything as long as it fills the void.
Being a big brother, he is very protective, not only of his sister Saiko, but of anyone who seems to need protecting. When it comes to this, he can get a bit more stubborn, especially if he thinks someone needs protecting but they disagree with him. He is capable of being a fierce defender against violence, and a gentle, compassionate soother against fears. He responds to anger with gentle, calm reason, and he almost never gets angry himself, though he will if someone he cares about or someone unable to protect themselves, is placed in harm's way. He has a keen sense of who can and cannot be trusted, and although it is not foolproof, it has never yet steered him wrong. His instinct is to trust people until he has a reason not to, and he comes off as quite likable and trustworth to most everyone else. He is not fool enough to blindly trust, however, especially when he has someone’s safety to account for besides his own.

important.NPCs: Saiko: His younger sister who has found a happy life in the village that they were raised in. They know that she is a tiger spirit but none of them seek to exploit her abilities. She is 21 years old. She is generally playful and a prankster, so much so that Tetsuya jokingly calls her a tanuki.
Misaki and Hiroshi: Tetsuya and Saiko’s adoptive parents. Misaki’s father discovered the two children scared and alone, and brought them back for her to raise, as she and her husband had not been able to have children of their own. They love both of them with all of their hearts, and have always been very open and accepting of the two tiger spirits, though they were sad when Tetsuya made his intentions to leave their village, but they wanted him to be happy. She is a midwife, and he is a doctor. They are not rich, but they are comfortable.
Sora: Tetsuya’s horse. He pulls the covered wagon that Tetsuya keeps his possessions in, and uses it as a changing room between performances. If he stays in an inn, he has all of his belongings taken up to his room. It is a simple wagon that he has built a wooden frame over and draped with bright, multi-colored cloth. Sora is mainly a white and light brown stallion, and is both very strong and very loyal to Tetsuyam Though he isn’t font of Saiko as she likes to spook him for fun, although she would never do anything to cause actual harm or real fear in the gentle creature.

history:
Tetsuya was born in the forests of Konan, where he lived happily with his clan (also called a streak). He was very happy there, and was excited when - at the age of 3 - he received a little sister. He vowed to be the best big brother possible, and he made it his self appointed duty to always keep his sister happy and smiling. When he was five, however, a group of hunters found his clan, and attacked them. They captured or killed almost all of them, but Tetsuya had been told to take his little sister and hide away. When at last he was found, in his hiding spot in the woods, it was by neither his parents nor the hunters, but rather by a n old man who was traveling through the woods to return to his home village. Theo old man found the children, and after checking to make sure none of their own people had survived or escaped, he chose to take them home to his village. His daughter and her husband were unable to have children of their own, so they instantly took in the two tiger spirit cubs and raised them as their own. The couple - Misaki, a midwife and Hiroshi, doctor - raised both children to be loving, caring, compassionate people who always step up to help their family and village - and complete strangers - when the need arises. They had their hands full with Saiko, who was always a trickster, but even she was mostly loving and compassionate.
It was one day when he was 10 that one of his sister’s pranks went too far. He had been playing with her in the woods, and she used her powers to manipulate light and create illusions to make the path ahead seem like a solid bridge over a deep late.Tetsuya fell for this trick, and ended up falling off of the cliff and into the lake below. Although he could swim, the lake was deeper than anything else he had been in before, and between that and the fact that a long underwater vine ensnared his foot and pulled him back under, Tetsuya began to panic and nearly drowned. His father happened to be coming to find the children for dinner, and was luckily able to swim out and rescue his adopted son, but Tetsuya was left with a fear of large bodies of water ever since. Thankfully, this also scared Saiko, and she never again tried a prank that could be that dangerous.
When he was 16, he began to feel the urge to travel. By then, he had developed a variety of skills, and he was sure he could easily support himself. For the past eight years, he has been traveling all over the four kingdoms - and all the smaller countries he can reach while avoiding large bodies of water - and has made quite a name for himself as an Entertainer. He returns home every few months, almost always with presents for his family and the village children.
