appearance: Kenki stands at 6”5’ and has an athletic build and his body is toned and muscular but leaning more to the lean side rather than bulky. He has long red hair that reaches his lower back and it’s cut in layers with the edges a lighter tone of red. His skin is lightly tanned due to his years at sea and he has piercing amethyst eyes. He usually dresses in dark brown trousers and boots with his shirt unbuttoned to his mid chest to expose some of his charms and to keep his body cool in the heat. He mainly wears a scarlet coat and emerald gems, he has an emerald necklace and decorates the rest of his garments, including his scarlet bandana, with emeralds as it’s the gem that was used to represent his family crest. He has a yellow cockatiel parrot called Lee that usually settles on his shoulder or the folds that hang on each side of his belt.

abilities: Kenki is one of the most talented warriors in the world of pirates. He has mastered the use of most weapons and constantly practices any new styles he encounters to keep learning and always be prepared for anything. He is as proficient fighting with a weapon as he is with his own costs as martial arts was something he learned from a young age. He also has a brilliant factic mind when it comes to land objectives or battles at sea. He is also quite the scholar and enjoys learning as much as he can on most subjects within his reach. He is also quite handy and whenever things need fixing he always comes up with good solutions. Also, although he is not the main chef of the crew, Kenki is very good at cooking and this applies to any kind of recipe, he outdoes himself whenever he cooks and the crew consider it a treat when he does. He also has a good singing voice and composed music to sing to the crew whenever they are resting or going on long trips. Furthermore, Kenki is an expert sailor due to the many years he spent at sea. He is also good at dancing although he doesn’t seem to have many opportunities to engage in such at present.
weapons: He has a preference for the katana and two small axes that he carries in his persona. He also has some throwing knives, a bow and arrows. However, he has learned to master most weapons in case he ever finds himself without his weapons and needs to improvise.
strengths: An expert warrior with most weapons, Kenki is fully confident in these abilities when in a battle and is also quite strong despite his slightly lean body. He is also a very patient man, especially when it comes to carrying out a strategy and that has ensured most of their plans have worked perfectly and kept the navy hunting pirates at bay. He also has a good eye for detail and that allows him to exploit an opponent’s weakness but also discover more easily what could assail a friend or loved one and try to render them comfort. He can be a tease at times but when the occasion requires he can be serious and work arduously to come out of any situation unscathed.
weaknesses: Kenki has a very strong affinity to honour and helping those in need and this can be used against him as it has been in the past. He would be more than ready to sacrifice himself to save the innocent or those he loves. It is true that he will always try to come up with a solution but, if it’s something he has to decide on the spot, he won’t hesitate giving up his life for those he loves.

personality: Kenki is a man fully devoted to the task at hand. He doesn’t seem much lint on thinking about the future as life has shown him that plans don’t always work out the way a person would want them to. This did not make him bitter, however, just cautious about the present and mindful of the errors of the past to avoid lowering his guard and vomiting them again.

He is very affectionate of his loved ones, especially his younger sister Sakura who now lives in a small village because he did not want her not to have a happy life because he became a pirate. Also, one of his men fell in love with her and now works at the village as a merchant in order to look after her, amass a decent fortune and request her hand in marriage. Kenki had known the man since he was a cadet so he will gladly entrust his beloved sister to his care when the time comes.

Although he can come out as relaxed and playful at times, he is a serious man who sees all plans through and would always come up with a good strategy in order to prevent unnecessary casualties or outcomes. This is one of the traits he developed when he joined the Royal Navy. Also, when someone earns his loyalty, the way Arashi has, he will never betray such person.

history: Kenki was born in the Kingdom of Zenchi from a noble family of the house of Takanobu. His parents Hanzo and Hitomi gave him a most joyful upbringing and when he was ten they gifted him with the most beautiful sister he could have ever wished for called Sakura. As soon as he was able to hold a sword he enlisted in the Royal Navy as he wanted to make his family proud and earn more honour to the Takanobu name.

A proficient learner, Kenki soon surpassed all other cadets and at the age of fifteen he was taken on his first voyages. He soon learned the ropes and became an expert sailor, tactician and was greatly respected by the men. It was during a battle with a well-known group of pirates that Kenki earned renown saving the Captain, capturing the enemy Captain and ensuring the ship returned home victorious. He was seventeen, the first Captain to be appointed at such an early age.

However, when he was nineteen and returning home from fighting off a pirate ship, he found his house burned to the ground, his parents dead and his sister missing. He cursed under his breath as he had noticed that the pirate ship attacked them and the captain was nowhere to be seen. But who would target his family? He did some research and it seemed that a Captain called Fan had a grudge against his country and wanted to find one of the Princes who seemed to have joined another pirate ship. Infuriated he went to speak with the Royal family and upon recovering no support to find his sister and restore his estate he forsook the Royal Navy alongside his most loyal men and he had some of them work on restoring a house in a secluded part of the island and he set off to hunt down Captain Fan.

Unfortunately, when he finally found the Captain and tried to rescue his sister, he was captured and brutally tortured not only through physical means but also thought the powers the Captain seemed to possess. It was clear to him he had been a Seishi once, but a man with no scruples surely would not have been a good Seishi. He realised this whole thing was so that he would tell him where the Prince was and he knew that even if he knew the answer he would not disclose such information to such a dangerous man.

Captain Fan then forced Kenki to become one of his pirates in exchange for ensuring Sakura would remain unharmed. During that period he studied because he wanted to learn even under such circumstances and he was plotting an escape with his beloved sister. But then one day the ship came into battle with another pirate ship. He recognised the ship because he had fought it often when he was in the Royal Navy and their confrontations had always ended in a stalemate. He knew that they were men of honour for any other pirate ship would have never settled for a draw.

Captain Arashi offered to help Kenki rescue his sister, take her back to their homeland and secure her life without being a target by moving her to a small village in Zenchi. In exchange for his help Kenki offered his services to Captain Arashi. And to this day he serves as Captain Arashi’s second in command and does not regret his choice of becoming a pirate under such an honourable banner.
