Hotori Minamino sighed as she entered her apartment. She made sure the door was locked behind her before dropping her keys and purse on the side table in her small entryway. She'd been out to dinner with Shouri Okamoto, her best friend since high school, and had really enjoyed herself. It seemed so hard to get the chance to meet up with her friend now that her schedule was packed. 'Such was the price of fame', her aunt Midori was fond of saying.
Hotori's gaze drifted over her apartment. It was bigger than she needed, really, and it still seemed surreal that it was all hers. She'd get lonely here, if it weren't for her new kitten, Aya. She kicked off her shoes and strode bare-footed further into the living room to look for the small ball of solid white fluff. Spotting her curled up on one of the chairs, Hotori scooped her up and nuzzled her in greeting, scratching the little cat under her chin, much to the kitten's pleasure, if the thunderous purring was any indication. "Did you miss me, Aya-chan?" Hotori asked softly. With one last affectionate scratch, Hotori sat her back down and wandered off into her room to change clothes. She wanted something comefortable to wear, as she still had some work to get done before bed.
About two years earlier, when Hotori was twenty-three, she had entered a talent competition on a whim at her university. She had come in second to a man who could play the saxophone, and at the time she'd thought the only thing she'd have to show for her first attempt at singing competitively was her small trophy and the gift basket she'd won. She was more than a little surprised, however when a man contacted her at her aunt's home and said he was a talent scout for a record company and was interested in making a demo tape of her.
She'd had her doubts at first, but the man and his offer turned out to be legit, and so after a whirlwind of activity, most of which was still a blur to her, she found herself with a tentative recording contract. She had to write and record the songs for her first album, and if it sold well, they intended to negotiate a longer contract. She still thought it seemed unnaturally lucky that an anime that was in production at the time wanted to use one of her songs for it's ending theme. The anime became quite popular, and had fueled her rise to stardom.
She had move out of her aunt's home, not wanting to draw undue attention to the woman she loved like a second mother, though she did see her quite often. Aya had been a housewarming gift from her aunt, who knew Hotori had wanted a pet since she was little. Her first apartment had been a smaller one, as she was still only moderately known, but she'd had to move to this new apartment a month ago after a fan broke into her old one while she was away. The thought of some stranger rifling through her things still made her shiver. She had lucked out that one of her neighbors had called the police upon hearing someone moving around when they knew Hotori wasn't home.
So yes, her new apartment was bigger than she needed, but it was also more secure. She was on the tenth floor, and there was a security guard at the front desk at all times, with a small force of guards on call, should the need arise. Her manager had called while she was at dinner with Shouri to inform her that he was taking the extra precautioun to hire her a bodyguard, and would be sending him over to meet her 'soon'. She figured it would take a few days for her manager to select a bodyguard, and even though Hotori thought it was a bit excessive, she was willing to put up with it. Having this bodyguard would put not only her manager's mind at ease, but would probably also keep her aunt from worrying so much.
She wandered into her bedroom and changed out of her black skirt and white blouse into a comfortably worn pair of fuxxy red plaid pajama bottoms and a red and gold tank top. Still bare-footed, she returned to the living room. She took out the notebook she kept her songs-in-progress in, and sat down at the piano that took up a small corner of the room. She had a habit of reading over her lyrics and then attempting to come up at least a basic tune to take to her producer for ideas. She was glad her aunt had taught her to play piano when she was little, and even more glad she had taken the time to learn to read and write music. It made the process of songwriting much easier.
She wasn't sure where the ideas for her songs came from, most of the time, but she tried not to question it. The song she was working on, for instance, was a sort of sad love song about two people who could never be together. She'd tentatively called it 'From Different Worlds'. She began to play with the lyrics in mind, but soon felt her focus drifting. Something about the song reminded her of...something. But it slipped away like an almost remembered dream. She had that feeling a lot lately, it seemed...the feeling that she'd forgotten something important, but wasn't sure what it was. It had happened ever since she was ill for about three weeks back when she was eighteen. She didn't remember much about those three weeks, but her aunt had told her that she'd been quite sick, and had a high fever. Hotori simply credited that strange feeling to almost remembered fever-induced dreams she'd had while sick.
She pushed the thought aside, and paused in her playing when Aya jumped up onto the piano bench beside her. The kitten gave a tiny meow of greeting before curling up next to her and going back to sleep. Hotori smiled down at the kitten and returned to work on her song, She needed to have it at least somewhat finished when she met with her manager tomorrow.
((OOC: I can do long posts! xD Though it's probably because I had a lot of set-up to do in this post. xD Also, a couple notes of explanation...first, Hotori somehow lost or blocked out her memories as the Suzaku no Miko. Rather than upset her by telling her about it, her aunt had made up the story that she'd been ill. Shouri either also doesn't remember or agreed not to tell her (she's not my character, so it really doesn't matter). Either way, she'll only be mentioned in passing here, so yeah. xD Also, I was thinking that maybe Hotori's manager hires Isamu and sends him over to meet her that night. It's up to you if he remembers his past life as a Seishi right away or not. ^^ Hope that all made sense. xD Not sure where the thread title came from...I just wanted it to mention stars for some reason. xd))

Isamu Li had been summoned by a manager who owned a very important records company and who had just discovered, as they say, a brand new talent. A person who seemed to be truly gifted in music and could grant a truly beautiful musical experience to those who listened to her songs. They also emphasised her voice was beautiful and, more importantly, she was new to the environment. that was the key element, it meant she did not know how to react to her fans, how to move in the environment and how to deal with people inside and outside her private life. So someone had broken into her flat recently and among all the bodyguards of the area, the best of the best was hired, no matter the price, no matter the terms and conditions. They wanted him for the job. but not only did they wish for him to protect her but also be her confident and show her the ropes of being a famous person. In the end he had accepted the contact after much deliberation and convincing from the manager. But he and also requested a much information about her as possible, her name, family, pets, likes and dislikes and a bit about her history. After all, if he had to spend so much time with her and learn to meet her desires before she even voiced them as well as be a confident he had to know her inside out. Knowing her personality would also give him hints and clues as to how to treat her and when to enforce his power before she did anything foolish.
The information he learned surprised him though. He had expected her to be the typical naïve and self-centred girl who would want everything for herself and would not care for anyone else. So this made him the more willing to protect her and ensure she could live as comfortably as possible for a celebrity. He knew it was difficult, even the life of a popular bodyguard was hard, nowadays the media published your life with no remorse and he could easily guess this lady was no fan of such things. So he would teach her how to keep her private life for herself and keep the media happy at the same time. He had a vast amount of experience on the subject, which was one of the many reasons the manager had chosen him.
It had to be admitted that the manager was also rather picky and pathetic, why is that? Well, he had also chosen Isamu because apparently his fitness was one of the best and his handsomeness and well-built body seemed to charm the ladies easily, so whoever hired him would have the envy of everyone else. And for some reason that man loved to hold much more power than the competition even when it could be dangerous at times. Of course Isamu ignored all of this and decided he would do his best to protect the lady since talking to the manager about giving him tips on being more intelligent would be, well, for naught.
A couple of days after being hired, Isamu was given her home address and contact details. He learned that the best time to show up and meet her was at night, since she had a tight schedule during the day. He parked his motorbike at the respective space and removed his helmet revealing long soft dark hair with loosen short hair on the front and the long dark hair was tied by a long white ribbon. In truth most people would expect all bodyguards to wear huge black suits, expensive shoes and sunglasses. however, Isamu preferred to dress in a more modern and comfortable way that allowed him to carry out his job properly. He was now wearing tight black trousers and black shoes and a silken black shirt buttoned all the way up the chest revealing tanned skin and just as he removed his helmet and locked his motorbike he took out his sunglasses and put them on.
He walked into the building and luckily someone was exiting so he entered the main gate and then took the lift. Once he reached the flat he rang the bell and ensured to be presentable before standing by the door. He waited patiently and wondered where all this would lead to…

Hotori looked up from her music when her doorbell rang. 'Who could that be?' She silently wondered as she stood and stretched. She wasn't expecting anyone, as her aunt never came to visit here, because of Aya, and Shouri would've called before stopping by. She glanced at the clock and realized that, although it wasn't late, per se, it was past the time of night that her elderly neighbors usually went to bed. Hopefully she hadn't been disturbing them. That was the only visitor that would make sense. She padded across the room, Aya trailing curiously behind her, and unlocked and opened the door without looking out the peephole.
"I'm sorry, Fujimiya-san, I didn't--" She cut off instantly when she realized it wasn't Fujimiya-san. It was a stranger. A strange men. And she'd answered the door in her pajamas. She blushed a faint pink and self-consciously crossed her arms. "Sorry...can I...help you?"
She pushed aside her embarrassment and looked up at the man once more. He was quite tall, and, if she were completely honest, quite handsome, though she couldn't imagine what he was doing at her doorstep. As she looked at his face, something about him seemed familiar, and it caused her heartbeat to quicken ever-so-slightly. But where had she seen him before? The press perhaps? She tried to avoid the media, scared to see what they might have to say about her, but she did come across stories here and there. It was nearly impossible to completely shut out the press in this day and age, not without becoming a hermit in the woods.
"Oh!" She said aloud, her shyness forgotten as she recognized him at last. "You're that bodyguard guy that's so well known." She winced at the statement as soon as it left her mouth, but she couldn't recall his name. "Sorry..." She managed again. "Did...did my manager send you over?" She bit her lower lip for a moment, surprised he was willing to pay so much after a silly little break-in. "Would...would you like to come in?" She took a step bach form the door, giving him the chance to enter. If he was her new bodyguard, she couldn't leave him standing in the hallway, after all.
At that moment, a tiny white fluff-wad darted between her legs and out into the hallway with the newcomer. "Aya!" Hotori scolded, reaching for the kitten who dodged her hands and began to rub against the man's leg, purring. Of course she would. He was wearing solid black, and Hotori would be more mortified than she already was if the kitten shed her snow white fur all over him. She glanced back at the living room to look for the cat treats she'd use to lure the kitten back inside, and winced when she saw her favorite teddy bears, a rather large one from before her parents had died, and a smaller one-though she couldn't really remember where she'd gottten it fron-were resting propped up on the couch and in full view.
She bit her lip again, and looked anywhere but the man's face as she blushed faintly once more. 'Great first impression, brat...' She mentally kicked herself, and then decided her manager would get an earful tomorrow for not telling her he was coming by tonight so she could be...presentable.

Isamu sensed the movement going on in the apartment and he ensured to start taking note form that very moment of the circumstances, the place, and the kind of person this lady was. He heard purring noise and could tell she had a pet and it was most likely it would be a cat. He did not knock again as he deemed the person must have heard him for she was now walking toward the door. He did not remove his shades though, not only did they help conceal part of him, but they also were equipped with many useful gadgets and devices that would allow him to make an analysis of the flat ad its components. He was not the bed tot the best by mere reputation, he had earned every piece of it though hard work and dedication. It was a bit shocking however, that the girl opened the door assuming who it would be and did not even look on the door hole to ensure she knew who this was. That was the worst thing she could do ever, he sighed but did not move a muscle as she stared at him. his deep amber eyes looked at her though the sunglasses and he examined her thoroughly. She did seem like a down to earth person. Which was why he could not understand such naivety…
"I'm sorry, Fujimiya-san, I didn’t-- Sorry...can I...help you?”
Another slip… she had called him by a name and he could easily use that against her and pretend to be that person next time. Or he could track down all the information regarding that person and fool her. He did not reply anything though, he merely contemplated her studying her every gesture, the way her voice would give way when she was nervous, happy or sad. how her body expressed different emotions. He had to know her as much as possible in order to protect her. And then…that faint and momentary smile she gave him as she looked him up made him want to smirk. But he refrained form doing so, that was one look he knew well, a lot of people thought him a rather handsome fellow, even though he only considered himself a mere bodyguard by profession and nothing special. But he would not give any notion of having noticed, this lady seemed like the easy to tease and he did not wish to start this job with her mistrusting him. Yet… there was something about her eyes, had he…seen her before somewhere? His heart said yes but his mind neglected this, how could his persona conflict on something so simple?
“Oh! You're that bodyguard guy that's so well known…Sorry…”
This time he could not avoid a smirk which was gone in an instant. She was nervous around him? He would not be surprised, many people were and the fact that he was so well-known added to the sense of people being to far say from his reach even though he was like any other person. Or was he? He had grown cold through the years and in a way he took this job to ensure others did not suffer the same fate as he had. All this while he had been standing there watching this lady who in many ways still behaved very much like a girl. It was her innocence, it was a pity, in a way, that she had inverted the world of fame. He hoped it would not destroy her now.
“Did…did my manager send you over?”
She bit her lip, did that mean she was aware she was saying things she should not? He raised an eyebrow when she uttered those words, now she had given him a chance to pretend he had indeed been sent to this place. What if he was someone who wished to attack her? She would be helpless, she was so fragile and defenceless…
“Would…would you like to come in?”
She did not even get to hear him reply to anything she said and she was inviting him inside? Truly… he had a lot to do it seemed. Why ddi her manager not teach her the basics of common sense? He left everything for Isamu, and that was not part of his job. But he guessed the would have to comply for her sake, he did not want that manager to manipulate things for his own selfish ends. He walked inside the apartment and then watched her as she closed the door. she only had one lock? She needed at least three different types of locks especially after someone broke into her flat… He sighed and then suddenly realised her cat was purring and rubbing against his legs. He could not deny he had a strong bond with animals, however, at this time he did not wish to give the wrong impression. Still he lowered and bent his knees caressing the cat on the head and whispered at the cat, seconds later it came to sit right next to Hotori. He noticed his trousers had not been dirtied by the fur and then moved to inspect the house before saying, “Isamu Li”.
He decided he would finally do some talking and started with his own name. He examined the windows with his sunglasses and then said, “You need three different locks on your door and must have all active when out of your flat but only leave one on when you are inside, you want to be able to escape should something happen…” Looking back at the windows he added, “you need double glazed windows, it helps create a more comfortable environment and it is less easily accessible than normal windows. An overwhelming fan will try more than simply knocking on your door.” He examined everything else and said, “use light saving light bulbs they are safer and make everything much more visible.”
Looking back down at the cat he added, “Also it might be useful to train your cat to sense unusual sounds, after all, animals have a keen sixth sense.” The cat seemed to like him for she followed him as he kept moving through the house until he reached the living room. He noticed all the stuffed animals, however, his eyes fell upon a teddy bear and it seemed to remind him of something. He was not entirely sure what but… closing his eyes he felt as if he could see himself giving a teddy bear to someone, and his body was filed with pain…he was…bleeding…what?
He finally turned to face her, trying to ignore what he had just experienced which had shocked him lightly. And it was then that he finally removed his shades and deep amber eyes looked piercingly into hers. “Did your manager say anything about accommodation plans? I noticed there is a room close to yours that is not being used, I would deem it a useless job if I could not watch over you twenty-four hours a day, fear not, however, you might not even see me most of it… I like to ensure my protégées feel comfortable and as if their privacy was not being deterred… Besides, I have much to teach you regarding this…environment that your manager probably did not even bother with.”
But first things first… “Have you eaten anything?”

Hotori wasn't sure how to take his continuous silence, which was probably the reason she couldn't seem to shut up. Something needed to feel the silence, after all. She had just opened her mouth to say something-anything-in an attempt to get him to speak when...he spoke.
"Isamu Li."
What? She blinked a couple of times, feeling quite slow when she realized it was his name. The name seemed very familiar to her, but she pushed the thought aside. It was just from the media, right? Something in her didn't seem to think so, as though it was a name she was more familiar with, though she hadn't heard it in a very long time. "Hotori Minamino." She returned the introduction, and then realized how silly that was. "But I'm sure you already knew that..."
He then began to systematically inspect her apartment and list off various changes she needed to have made. She hadn't realized he'd be going through her home like this, and tried to remember if all of her dirty clothes were hidden away in the hamper or not. Though part of her wanted to bristle at his evaluation of her personal space, another part of her seemed to understand he meant no offense. It was almost as if she was already used to his presence in her space, though that really didn't make sense.
“Also it might be useful to train your cat to sense unusual sounds, after all, animals have a keen sixth sense.”
"Train her?" Hotori repeated, feeling slow yet again. She knew you could train dogs, but she had never considered training a cat to do anything besides be a cat. Aya seemed to have taken to him quite quickly, the little traitor, perhaps he should train her? She started to say as much when he spoke again, and all disbelief that a cat could be trained was forgotten.
“Did your manager say anything about accommodation plans? I noticed there is a room close to yours that is not being used, I would deem it a useless job if I could not watch over you twenty-four hours a day, fear not, however, you might not even see me most of it… I like to ensure my protégées feel comfortable and as if their privacy was not being deterred… Besides, I have much to teach you regarding this…environment that your manager probably did not even bother with. Have you eaten anything?”
Her brain processed the easiest of the information first. "Yes, I had an early dinner with Shouri-chan, but that was a few hours ago..." Her mind worked it's way through the rest of what he'd said. "Sorry, accommodations?" She shook her head. "No, Sakano-san didn't say anything about..." She made a vague motion around her. "He told me he'd hired a new bodyguard...nothing more."
She moved closer, and stared up into his eyes for a long moment, attempting to judge his intentions. Was this always how it worked? Or did he think she was one of those promiscuous celebrities that were all over the media? If that's what he expected, the--
But she could tell as she looked up at him that, no, that wasn't his intention. She wasn't sure why she felt she could tell-could know-this man she'd only just met, but again she felt as if she'd known him before long ago.
Coming to a decision, she sighed and shook her head, breaking the eye contact to lean over and pick up Aya. "If you need to stay with me to do your job, then I'm alright with it, I suppose. I've heard you're the best in the business, so I'd make whatever arrangements you see fit, Isamu-kun." What? Where had that come from? This man was a professional, after all. "I mean Li-san..." And yet, even as she corrected the inexplicable slip-up, she couldn't help but think that 'Isamu-kun' felt more...right...when referring to him. 'Isamu' felt even more right, but she certainly wasn't about get that personal so quickly. Not that standing here in her pajamas wasn't already personal. She decided to press forth with the topic at hand. "The room is empty, and has an en suite bathroom, so it should suit your needs..."

”Hotori Minamino… But I'm sure you already knew that…”
“I did, but worry not.” After all, it was normal that strangers would introduce themselves right? Yes, Isamu was rather cold and pedantic but he was not fond of humiliating others. So he wanted to make the best impression since he was someone she would have to get used to, to trust and accept. He would be part of her life now, as any bodyguard usually was, especially in the modern world. He turned to look at her and wondered what kind of person she was, would she prefer him talking to her formally or would she prefer an informal name. He would soon find out, he was sure. He wanted her to be comfortable around him. It would make his job much easier and he was aware now there was much road to cover. He finished writing down the adjustments he would give Hotori’s manager so that her apartment was fit for her safety and comfort, he always strove to excel at everything he did. That was what made him the best. but the price he paid was this life of solitude and in a way it was almost as if he was a belonging instead of a person. Sometimes customers could make you feel that way… It was one of the reasons he accepted this job, probably, because he hoped that the lady’s inexperience would preserve her humanity. And he would help on that accord.
"Train her?”
Aya climbed unto a sofa to be at Isamu’s hand’s reach and meowed, he smirked and caressed its head and back, “Yes, cats are felines after all, very emphatic and perceptive, they can feel everything going on around them, they are also god judges of character.” He stopped petting her and turned to look back at Hotori, it was normal persons aside himself would not think all this, it was his job after all. so he did not take it to heart that Hotori was so shocked at his words and suggestions. He allowed her time to collect all the information, after all, he did give her a lot to think about. “Also, please ensure only your closes friends and family have your address, phone line and mobile number, otherwise it can get complicated… Any fantail could go to your office…” Why was he telling her all this? Well, in a way he also wanted to make her aware of this world of fame, surely her manger might not have told her much on the subject.
"Sorry, accommodations? No, Sakano-san didn't say anything about… He told me he'd hired a new bodyguard...nothing more.”
He sighed, “I knew he was irresponsible but now that is just plain ridiculous…” He looked back at her and said, “worry not, I will help you in every way I can and can explain all I know. Should you have any questions always ask, you must trust your bodyguard and he must trust you.” It would probably be difficult at first but he was determined it would work, it had to. Now he understood why she was not expecting him or did not even get dressed.
“Yes, I had an early dinner with Shouri-chan, but that was a few hours ago…”
He smirked and eyed her for a moment, “I am sure I could persuade you if I said I low the best teppanyaki restaurant of the neighbourhood… Surely a lady as active as you must be a good eater… besides I have not had dinner yet.” He winked at her and then looked at his watch, there was more than enough time for that. It would also allow him the opportunity to break the ice and get her a bit more relaxed around him. “It’s on me.” He noticed curiously how she approached him and stared intently into his piercing amber eyes and so he stood there looking down at her and granting her enough time to assimilate all this. It was at this very moment that shadows seemed to plague his thoughts, it felt almost certain that he had seen those emerald eyes somewhere… And something lured him closed to her. He closed the distance between them and felt the familiar warmth of her body and the soothing fragrance of her perfume.
A hand was about to move, but then her voice spoke again and he blinked for a moment recovering form the trance. what had just happened then? He turned as if heading toward the door to regain his composure and not look like a fool in her eyes. He was still shocked at what this could be. He did not know but it did alarm him…
“If you need to stay with me to do your job, then I'm alright with it, I suppose. I've heard you're the best in the business, so I'd make whatever arrangements you see fit, Isamu-kun… I mean Li-san…”
He nodded and said, “Thank you for understanding and I intend to do my best and ensure your comfort and safety. If it is ok some men will bring things for my room while we are out, everything should be sorted without us needing to do anything about it.” that said he took out his Samsung Galaxy phone and texted the men to bring his belongings. And where they would be needed… He then put it away and approached her and took her hand gently in his and kissed it before saying, “Hotori… You can call me whatever is more comfortable for you when we are here, however, for professional reasons, once outside I am Li-san and you are Hotori-sama”. Why had it felt pleasing to call her by her name? Something was truly wrong with him.
“The room is empty, and has an en suite bathroom, so it should suit your needs…”
“That is all I need.”
He then put on his shades again before turning toward the door, “Get dressed I wait for you outside, you have fifteen minutes…” he smirked and closed the door behind him. He descended the stairs and finally exited the building taking a deep breath as the cool wind caressed his hair. He closed his eyes for a moment and once he was recovered he walked over to his motorbike. He put his shades in the compartment and then took his helmet and placed it on his head. He took out another for Hotori and then turned on his motorbike and turned on the light. He had more than enough petrol, good.

Hotori couldn't shake the feeling that this was all familiar territory for them. That she knew this man, even though she was positive she'd never met him before. What on Earth was wrong with her? Why did she keep thinking she had forgotten something. Something big. Something life changing.
“I am sure I could persuade you if I said I low the best teppanyaki restaurant of the neighbourhood… Surely a lady as active as you must be a good eater… besides I have not had dinner yet. It’s on me.”
He winked at her. Typically, that would make her laugh and roll her eyes, it seemed like such a cheesy thing, and yet, when Isamu winked, she felt her heart give a funny little jolt. This was just crazy. Sure, he was handsome, but she wasn't the 'love at first sight' sort of girl. In all her years, she'd never so much as kissed a man, let alone felt herself respond in such a way to a simple wink. She pushed the thought aside, and smiled. "Yes, that sounds nice."
As she stood before him, for just a brief moment, she wanted to reach out and touch him. It felt natural to want to, and yet she knew it wasn't something she should indulge in. Instead she allowed him to walk toward the door and continue talking. She nodded her consent for the men to bring his things while they were away. She made a mental note to get her spare key out for him once they came back from dinner.
“Hotori… You can call me whatever is more comfortable for you when we are here, however, for professional reasons, once outside I am Li-san and you are Hotori-sama.”
Hearing her name on his lips made her smile, as did the gentlemanly way he kissed her hand. She blushed a faint pink, but nodded her understanding. "Alright, Isamu." It felt so natural, and that was another odd thing, as there were so few people she addressed without an honorific.
“Get dressed I wait for you outside, you have fifteen minutes…”
Her front door had barely closed before Hotori was off like a rocket, back into her room to get dressed. She pulled open the closet door and began to dig around for something to wear. Logic told her that it didn't really matter, but she couldn't help wanting to find just the right thing. Biting her lip, she selected a pair of black pants, and began to search for a top to go with them. She held one up in front of her. "I wonder if Isamu would like this?"
She froze and blinked at the mirror. This was absurd. It wasn't like they were going on a date. This was just a way to get to know someone she'd be working with from now on. Still, she decided against that top and selected instead a red Chinese-style top with gold and silver flowers. She had just enough time to pull on some boots and grab her purse. She locked up and quickly headed downstairs to meet Isamu, hoping she looked presentable enought. "I should've put on make-up..." She mumbled to herself as she gave the security guard on duty a little wave goodbye. She shook her head. "But this isn't a date..."
She stopped when she saw Isamu waiting with a motorbike, extra helmet in hand for her. She wasn't sure what she'd been expecting, but that wasn't it. "Wow..." She breathed as she approached. "This...is nice..." She was instantly glad she'd opted not to wear a skirt. "My fifteen minutes aren't up, are they?" She asked, teasing lightly as she stood before him. She took the helmet from him and put it on, handing him her purse to store in a compartment for her. "I've never ridden one of these before..." She confessed. "I assume I just hold on and try not to scream in your ear...?"
Despite her words, her eyes sparkled with excitement. She gave him a broad, beaming smile before climbing on behind him and bringing her arms up to hold firmly to his waist. This closeness felt nice, and she sort of hoped traffic was bad enough to let the ride last a while. "Ready when you are, Isamu..."

"Yes, that sounds nice.”
He nodded, “You wont regret it.” And she certainly would not, it was indeed the best place and only few knew of it. But he had his connections in the area so he occasionally went to eat there and had quality food at great discounts. It would certainly suit her, and she would feel more at home.
"Alright, Isamu.”
What was it that made him warm inside from hearing her utter his name so closely? He probably needed the fresh air, this seemed to keep on happening ever since he entered the apartment, what could this strange sensation mean? Maybe he ddi not sleep well the night before although usually he only needed a few hours of sleep. He was used to protecting others, and a person was vulnerable the most whenever asleep for they were mainly unaware of their surroundings. Although, even if he slept, Isamu could wake up immediately at the smallest sound. He ran a hand through his long, dark and soft hair and nodded to her.
He had been organising his motorbike and the compartments in case she brought many things, he was still learning the kind of person she was. He fixed the mirrors and ensured to be comfortable on the bike. He hoped she had heeded his words nd would not take longer than fifteen minutes, sometimes waiting for too long was unbearable especially on an empty stomach and he was hungry, he had been on meetings all day and had barely eaten in between. Sometimes being a bodyguard was truly difficult…
And to his surprise she showed up right on time. She was wearing trousers, that was a good choice, he deemed. Otherwise riding on the back of his motorbike might prove tedious for the lady.
”Wow... This...is nice…”
He grinned, “Yes, this is my baby…” He pat the handle fondly, he had learned a lot about motorbikes and had come up with this one himself, he and two friends built it together and now it was not only the means of transport but also full of gadgets that allowed Isamu to do his job truly well. Few would think a motorbike safe but this one was much safer than most cards, he grinned.
“My fifteen minutes aren't up, are they?”
He smirked and handed her the helmet and then placed her purse in a compartment, “I might be lenient this one time, since you are still a newbie.” He waited her to be comfortable and then sit behind him and hold on to his waste. Something inside him felt he relinquished the feeling but he mentally kicked himself and concentrated on the things she said instead, this was no moment to have silly thoughts and get distracted!
I've never ridden one of these before… I assume I just hold on and try not to scream in your ear…?”
“That about sums it al up.” He could tell she was excited though, who would not be? Surely this kind of motorbikes only existed in dreams or films… He turned the bike around and once he ensured no traffic was coming he nodded to her words and said, “Hold on tight and do not let go.” He then pressed the accelerator and the motorbike took off at a great speed, now he never went faster than allowed in the streets, but that did not mean he did not enjoy his vehicle. He grinned and then turned smoothly on a bend. He drove happily feeing the adrenaline rush and the arms of Hotori. Traffic was slightly delayed but after what felt like hours they arrived to the restaurant. He parked at the respective place for bikes and then waited for Hotori to get off first and then he took both helmets and locked the vehicle. He gave her her purse.
this one time he decided against wearing his shades when eating and conversing with Hotori, but for now, he used them to ensure no dangerous being was nearby. Once satisfied he led Hotori inside the “Five Star Restaurant”. Once they walked inside the old lady, owner of the restaurant approached him happily and said, “Li-san, what a wonderful surprise although usually you come on your own… who is your lady friend?” She looked at her curiously but then Isamu cleared his throat and said, “She is my new protégée and she must be treated as the best.”
the lady raised an eyebrow, why did people seem determined to deny what was obvious to the rest of the world? However, she shrugged and then smiled at them and led them to a nice table that overlooked the gardens, “We can go fora walk there once the food settles, what do you think?” He asked Hotori as the lady brought them refreshments.

The ride to the restaurant was exhilarating. Hotori, who until recently had been a firm believer that walking was the best way to travel, had never experienced anything like it before. She couldn't imagine riding in a car could ever compare. Instinctively, she'd scrunched her eyes shut at first, but after a moment she dared to peek out at the things they were passing. It felt like they were going far, far too fast, but she could tell, based on the other traffic, that they weren't. And even if they had been, she couldn't say she minded. If travel was always going to be like this with Isamu as her bodyguard, she'd have to thank Sakano-san for hiring him. She bit her lip to try and hold back the giggles she felt bubbling up. She hadn't had this much fun in ages.
Once they reached the restaurant and parked, she tried to reign in her emotions. The last thing she needed was to grin at him like an idiot and make him think she was completely mad. She took a deep breath and relinquished the helmet, thanking him as he handed over her purse. As she looked up at the building, she realized she had seen this place before in passing, but had never stopped in to eat. She followed Isamu inside and smiled gently at the owner as she spoke to Isamu. She felt a faint blush dust her cheeks when the older woman referred to her as his 'lady friend'.
“She is my new protégée and she must be treated as the best.”
Hotori's blushed deepened just slightly. "There's no need for any special treatment, really..." Though she appreciated the sentiment, she was just a girl, after all. One who had come along after the promise of free food. Nothing more...right? She followed to the table, and looked out over the gardens with a small smile. This place was lovely, really lovely.
“We can go for a walk there once the food settles, what do you think?”
Hotori nodded, still looking at the garden for a moment before looking back to her companion. "I'd like that, Isamu." She then remembered his instructions for when they were in public, and a hand reflexively reached up to cover her mouth, as if to somehow hide the mistake after it was made. "I mean, Li-san." She felt her face warm once more, and tried to hide it behind the menu. That name still felt odd to her. It was just that it would take some getting used to, that was all. Conversation was probably the best way to help her adjust.
And yet, as she sat there, she realized she couldn't think of anything to say...not that wasn't obviously awkward dinner conversation. This was another strange situation for her, as her friends often accused her of never running out of things to talk about. She was opening up her home and her life to this man, and needed to get to know him better, but there was still that odd, tingling feeling that somehow she already knew everything she needed to.
She decided to dive in head first, and hope for the best. What did she have to lose, after all? "Please, tell me a little about yourself. Do you have any hobbies?" She shook her head. "I mean, everyone has hobbies, but...what do you enjoy?" And because her aunt had always taught that she should not request information without offering up some of her own, she continued. "Music used to be my hobby, but since it's my job now...I suppose I'd say...reading. Reading's what I do most often for fun. Usually poetry." And manga, but at her age it was a little embarrassing to admit that. "And mythology..."
She silently decided to order whatever Isamu did, and placed her menu aside to focus on the conversation, hoping she wouldn't accidentally ask anything too personal.
((OOC: Feel free to guide them through the meal. I never know what to have characters talk about while eating. xD))

”There's no need for any special treatment, really…”
The lady laughed and teasingly elbowed Hotori, “you do not fool me dear, Isamu only protects the best or those with true talent, so you must be either one of them or both… that altogether means you are special…” She guided them to the table and smiled at the both of them, “I will be bringing your drinks in a moment and then the cook will make the usual.” Isamu nodded and watched her leave. He sure had a reputation in Tokyo these days, he only hoped that it would be for the best. He received a message in his phone and he checked it, it was Hotori’s manager, he was asking if he had licked what he had seen and would finally agree to sign a contract the next day. After their brief meeting at the apartment and the arrival to the restaurant he knew he wanted to protect her, show her the ropes and help her by giving her the wings she needed to fly. He was that selfless… He then texted him back saying… “yes”. He was fully aware of all that it would imply, and it would not be easy. But he had experience, patience and cunning, he was sure he would manage. He eyed her once he put his phone away and then said, “I hope it was ok for me to order the usual for both of us? It is definitely the best selection of food they make here, if you do not like it you have my permission to order something else. After all, you agreed to come here on my whim.” It was the least he could do.
He hoped she would like the food though, in all honesty he still did not know why he had brought her here. Usually he came with friends who were mostly males and if he brought ladies it was usually in big groups and he was unattached to any of them. Maybe it was just the way she was… such a simple person. It was strange but he felt comfortable around her. He wondered why. His deep amber eyes moved toward the gardens, he was sure she would enjoy walking there though, there were many tricks to those gardens and only he knew them all, he was in such friendly terms with the owner that he was like a son to her. A strange feeling since he could not recall his parents, at least not much. But he welcomed the feeing, it was always nice having someone looking after you since you were a young person. Even if he was an orphan from the age of five. He turned to look at her, “So, what do you think? Do you like this place?” He wanted to know her tastes, if he was to work with her he had to know how to approach her, and for now, she seemed to enjoy spontaneity.
”I’d like that, Isamu… I mean, Li-san.”
He was so glad he brought her here, otherwise that slip would have proven fatal for the both of them. However, as a warning and to make her much more aware of this he requested of her, he looked at her seriously, his eyes grew darker and for a moment he let silence reign. But, when she corrected her mistake his eyes regained their usual brilliance and life and he nodded, “We will do that then Hotori-sama.” He noticed her blush but decided not to tease her about it, he only had one chance to make a first impression, right? He smiled as the lady brought them a small bottle of sake wine in a cooler and two glasses. He looked at her and raised an eyebrow, but she winked at him and he still did not understand whatever she was doing. She then said, “it’s on the house.” She smiled warmly at Hotori and then left to bring the chief. Isamu looked at the bottle a bit puzzled and unsure and eyed Hotori, “you do not have to drink that if you do not want to. I can go fetch you some water if you prefer…” He still did not understand what his adoptive mother was doing…
“Please, tell me a little about yourself. Do you have any hobbies? I mean, everyone has hobbies, but...what do you enjoy? Music used to be my hobby, but since it's my job now...I suppose I'd say...reading. Reading's what I do most often for fun. Usually poetry… and mythology…”
He looked at her with great curiosity. It was somewhat amusing to hear her talk, stumble shyly with words and then try and keep on talking to make it sound like a better organised sentence or more coherent. He found himself smiling briefly but then he looked at the sake he had poured on his glass, it shone as he gently stirred it before he took a sip. “Martial arts, sword-fighting, I guess I need to tell you about these things so you do not think me a fool when you see me in service…” He rubbed the back of his neck bashfully before he added, “I usually have all these technological gadgets that help me protect my customers, however, my main weapon of choice is a katana…” There, he said it, would she freak out now? Surely she thought he was a geek or would spend too much time playing video games or reading novels about samurais, but, yet… he descended from a line of bodyguard samurais… So surely that had a logical explanation right? “I also enjoy music greatly, I play several instruments, particularly the harp.” And if she laughed at him for that he would walk away, he despised those who fought playing music was girly, especially certain instruments…
“Do… you usually listen to music similar to yours or have you a broader taste?” It was then the chief arrived with the food which had not yet been cooked. He turned on the stove on their table and then smiling at them began to display the genuine art of cooking teppanyaki. It did not take too long for him to start serving on their plates, once he did so they could start eating, and this happened until he finished cooking. He then nodded at them and cleaned the stove before he left them to finish the food. He turned to look at her as if asking if she had liked the food so far. his eyes shone with delight, he truly enjoyed the food his adoptive mother cooked, and he was lucky enough to eat for free most of the time, but this one time he wished to pay her for it.

“I hope it was ok for me to order the usual for both of us? It is definitely the best selection of food they make here, if you do not like it you have my permission to order something else. After all, you agreed to come here on my whim.”
Hotori nodded with a smile. "That is fine. I honestly wouldn't know what to order, it all looks so good." She noticed he received a message on his phone, but wasn't nosy enough to ask about it. Instead, she returned her gaze to the garden for a few moments. She was feeling much more comfortable now than she had just a few moments earlier. There was almost something calming and reassuring about Isamu's presence. It was as though she already knew she could trust him, and truly be herself with him.
“So, what do you think? Do you like this place?”
"It's lovely." She replied without hesitation, looking back at him as she spoke. "The food smells wonderful, and I can't wait to try it. The garden is pretty, and the owner seems very sweet." She gave a small giggle. "I can't believe I've never given this place a change before now." She was a little surprised when the owner reappeared with some Sake for them. She wasn't much of a drinker, really, but she had enjoyed some Sake with dinner before, and so the nodded, silently saying she'd be happy to share it with him. Once it was poured and placed before her, she took a small sip as the conversation progressed.
“Martial arts, sword-fighting, I guess I need to tell you about these things so you do not think me a fool when you see me in service…I usually have all these technological gadgets that help me protect my customers, however, my main weapon of choice is a katana…I also enjoy music greatly, I play several instruments, particularly the harp."
Hotori listened with fascination. "That must take a lot of dedication. I've always been curious about martial arts, but the closest I ever studied was when my aunt had me take a self defense course when I started University. Oh, and archery, but I don't think that counts." She said with a smile. It made her happy to hear that he enjoyed music, as it was something he'd be exposed to a lot living with her. She looked at his hands on the table before adding. "Your hands look well suited to the harp. Perhaps you can play for me sometime..." That brought another faint blush. "If you don't mind, that is..."
“Do… you usually listen to music similar to yours or have you a broader taste?”
"I listen to a little bit of everything." She confessed. "My aunt traveled a lot when I was younger, so I was exposed to all sorts of music, and developed a fondness of many genres in many languages...even if I don't understand them." She took another small sip of her Sake before adding. "Still, I'm aware my voice is suited to a specific sort of music, so that is mostly what I sing."
The Chef arrived, and Hotori was enthralled as she watched him prepare the food. Once she could begin eating, she tried the food, and couldn't hide the small noise of satisfaction as the first bite hit her taste buds. She watched the chef finish up and leave before speaking again. "Thank you, Li-san. This is amazing." She met his gaze, and she was sure her eyes were as delighted as his. She took another delicious bite, and was about to continue their conversation when her phone gave a small chime, indicating a new message.
"Sorry..." She said softly as she pulled the device from her purse. It was from Haru, a fairly recent but still very close friend she had met at University. It read simply: 'Tried to call your place. Where are you?' She tapped out a quick reply: 'Out to dinner with my new bodyguard. Will text you later.' She was just about to put her phone away when another message came in, again from Haru. 'Is he hot?' She gave a laugh, and quickly covered her mouth. She put the phone away without replying to the last message. "Sorry..." She said again to Isamu as she looked back up at him. "That was Haru-kun." She wasn't sure why she felt the need to explain, but she did. "My friend. Apparently he tried reaching me at home, and wondered where I was."

"That is fine. I honestly wouldn't know what to order, it all looks so good.”
He nodded, she was indeed such a simple person, he was glad, it would make his job the more worthwhile. He had the feeling that he would also learn a great deal from her. It was unavoidable anyway, and at this point he knew that they would probably start picking up on each other’s movements or even gestures. That was what you did when you spent a very long time in the company of someone. He was careful in acquiring the customs of his customers, though, but he wondered if the same would apply to this person it was easy and comfortable to be around… He was not sure what it was about her but, he almost felt as if he had been close to her in another life. Maybe that was him being silly, who believed such things these days? Well, his adoptive mother did, but aside from her… probably just the past generations. It was a pity when customs and ways of life were lost, Japan was a country with so much to give to the world…
“That is because Tuturu-sama is the best restaurant manager in the city and she knows the Chefs, most of them she has known since she was but a child. She truly only sighs to make everyone happy, even those who taste her food.” Yes, it was not difficult to grow fond of Tuturu, she as such a kind a gentle soul, and in many ways Hotori seemed to be alike her… Just the way she was so relaxed about most things, she seemed not to mind that he decided to take her from the comfort of her flat to this restaurant, he ordered food for the both of them an now she would have a strange living in her flat. Who knew what she thought of him now, would she be too scared to sleep at night? He realised he had grown silent and took another sip from his sake.
“So, what do you think? Do you like this place?”
“It’s lovely… The food smells wonderful, and I can't wait to try it. The garden is pretty, and the owner seems very sweet… I can't believe I've never given this place a change before now.”
He was truly pleased with her complimenting the restaurant and manager. after all one had to be proud of hone’s mother, especially when she had brought him up on her own all these years and also worked on the restaurant. She seemed to have more than enough energy to feel a full regiment and he smirked, “Yes, this is one of my favourite places, Tuturu-sama is one of the best persons I have ever met, I only wish her restaurant was better known, she seems to be struggling a bit with shortness of staff and little profits. The few Chefs that lingered most of them do not take any pay whenever possible, they love her so much…” He realised he was probably deviating form interesting matters and he cleared his throat, she would not be interested in the welfare of his adoptive mother and so he decided to stop talking. Why did it feel so right to share even those things? He did not even know her… He was relieved when she accepted to drink the sake though, he did not want his mother to be upset…
And then he was shocked or rathe impressed once more. She did not think him a strange person? On the contrary she was interested in what he was saying? Seriously? He blinked when she looked at him with dreamy eyes as fi she loved talking on the subject and he rubbed the back of his neck. He had never met a girl like her before, that he had to admit…
”That must take a lot of dedication. I've always been curious about martial arts, but the closest I ever studied was when my aunt had me take a self defense course when I started University. Oh, and archery, but I don't think that counts.”
He felt slightly embarrassed at her compliment but he took a deep breath and then nodded, listening to her this time. She almost seemed as happy as if she were going out with a friend, or a date… he winced when his thoughts led him there and mentally slapped himself and submerged into the conversation not to appear odd, “It does perhaps, but I was brought up to see it more as a way of life, so it is no burden to learn the martial arts, to practice them and to honour them. That is to say I never use my skills to harm others or to take advantage of them, only to preserve lives and whenever possible I ensure not to kill an opponent.” that was the true code of a man of honour who used his martial arts. Regarding what she said on archery he was impressed, there were still people who practiced such? He then said, “I would like to see you hit a target, few people find pleasure in sports of that kind these days…”
"Your hands look well suited to the harp. Perhaps you can play for me sometime… If you don't mind, that is…"
He noticed she looked down at his hands and then she complimented him once more. He looked down at his hands for a moment and then sat up straight, why was he acting like a mere adolescent boy? He thought he had passed on that stage a very long time ago. He tried not to appear rude and said, “Thank you… I could play for you I guess although I am nothing special.” Tuturu-sama brought small deserts and smiled at the two of them saying, “I’ll leave the gardens open, Isamu knows how to do the magic, ensure to lock it before you go.” He nodded and looked at his desert, there were some kochi on each plate and he smiled at her and said, “No problem.”
“I listen to a little bit of everything… My aunt traveled a lot when I was younger, so I was exposed to all sorts of music, and developed a fondness of many genres in many languages...even if I don't understand them… Still, I'm aware my voice is suited to a specific sort of music, so that is mostly what I sing.”
He was rathe intrigued, so they even had that in common. Was the deity of fate laughing at them or something? “I see, I confess I am still to listen to a song of yours, maybe you could sing and I could play.” He then almost hit himself for being so forward, but wasn’t that what musicians did anyway? Surely there was nothing wrong with working together if both enjoyed that art.
“Thank you, Li-san. This is amazing.”
He grinned when he heard her delight and watched her eat the food. He rested his head on his hands quite pleased with himself and then had his desert. He allowed her time to eat and delight herself before he moved to finish the sake in his glass. And then she got a message and he smirked.
“Sorry… That was Haru-kun… My friend. Apparently he tried reaching me at home, and wondered where I was.”
Her laughter… it was so musical and it soothed his soul, where had he heard it before? He felt in a brief trance but as soon as it arrived it left. It as frustrating that sense of knowing he had memories he could not remember. Why was this happening now? “I am sorry, I hope I did not make you cancel any important meetings or screwed up your social life, if you wish to call him and invite him over you can…” He felt slightly awkward, he had to take her friends into account next time…
He waited for her to finish before he took her hand and led her to the gardens. Once she was at the entrance he said, “wait here…” he then moved back into the restaurant and went to ensure to turn the lights on and the fountains, it was indeed a delightful garden. It was then that Tuturu-sama decided to approach Hotori and he smiled at her and said, “I hope he is doing his job well enough, he is a good lad, you would not realise now but… when I adopted him he worked harder than anyone in this restaurant… And now he is one of the most respected men in this country…” She smiled and kept on clearing things out adding, “he can be tough and cold at times but, I wouldn't blame him, he suffered much… he still does in a way… Maybe he needs someone to help him snap out of it eh?” She smiled at Hotori and when Isamu approached she winked at the girl and resumed her cleaning. Isamu smiled at Hotori and said, “you can walk into the garden now…”
There were koi fish in the small ponds and streams, ducks, frogs, it was almost like being in a small piece of heaven. He then began to walk alongside her and hoped she enjoyed this little walk. It was always good to digest your meal right?

Hotori listened to Isamu talk about the restaurant, and the woman who ran it, and smiled. It was obvious that this place was dear to him. She silently decided to do all that she could in the future to see that it prospered. She'd be sure to recommend it to anyone looking for a good dinner spot, and frequent it more herself. It was a wonderful place, and she liked the owner, and so she wanted to do all she could to help. Still, she worried it might sound silly, or like she was making false promises, if she were to say any of that out loud, so she kept those thoughts to herself for now.
Dessert arrived and Hotori was pleased. It was just as delicious as everything else had been. They continued their discussion of music, and she smiled when he agreed to play for her sometime, though he thought he was nothing special. Then came a small confession she hadn't expected.
“I see, I confess I am still to listen to a song of yours, maybe you could sing and I could play.”
He'd agreed to be her bodyguard without even listening to anything she'd done? But hadn't Tuturu-sama said that he only protected those with real talent? Not that she thought she was the best in the business. She was convinced she had heard many with more talent than she had, but others seemed to enjoy listening to her sing, and that was where she found her true pleasure. It was not the fame or the money, but simply the knowledge that she could make others happy. She realized she had let her own thoughts distract her from answering, so she spoke up with a cheerful, bright smile. "I'd really enjoy that. Music is always much more enjoyable when it is shared with others."
They finished their meal, and she finished the last of the sake in her glass, when Haru texted her.
“I am sorry, I hope I did not make you cancel any important meetings or screwed up your social life, if you wish to call him and invite him over you can…”
Hotori shook her head, dismissing his concerns. "Haru-kun probably either wanted to tell me about a date or ask for help with his homework." She laughed. "Either way, he'll be fine. I can call him later and see what he wants." She bit her lip briefly. "You should know, I don't really have much of a social life to speak of. My aunt is my only family, and I only have a handful of friends. Shouri-chan has been my best freind for years. And then there's Haru-kun...I met him a couple of years ago. We had a science class together, and I helped him study for the exams." She blinked, as if remembering something. "Oh, and there's Sei-kun. He's Haru-kun's boyfriend, and he's really quite sweet."
He took her hand and led her to the garden, and again, she felt that silly little flutter in her heart, as if holding his hand was something she'd done before, and really enjoyed. She pushed the thought aside yet again. Perhaps this was something she could talk to Haru or Shouri about later. She was sure they would tease her, but they were good friends, and so she knew she could count on their honest advice. When Isamu asked her to wait there, she nodded and smiled, watching him walk off before shifting her attention to Tuturu-sama as she approached and began speaking.
“I hope he is doing his job well enough, he is a good lad, you would not realise now but… when I adopted him he worked harder than anyone in this restaurant… And now he is one of the most respected men in this country… he can be tough and cold at times but, I wouldn't blame him, he suffered much… he still does in a way… Maybe he needs someone to help him snap out of it eh?”
She had adopted him? That explained why this place, and this woman, seemed so dear to him. Did that mean he was an orphan like she was? If so, it seemed they had more in common than she had thought. Both orphans who had been raised by strong, caring women. She felt the urge to ask Isamu about it, but knew that it was not an easy subject for some to discuss, and she didn't wish to make him relive old pain. She knew that feeling all too well. She nodded to Tuturu-sama's question, to be polite, but really wasn't sure what she meant when she said he needed someone to snap him out of his suffering. The woman winked at Hotori, and the young singer felt herself blush faintly in spite of herself. She was sure that wink implied something, though she wasn't sure what. She turned her attention instead to Isamu and the gardens, and followed him out into them.
They were even more lovely with with lights and fountains turned on, and she smiled as she watched a small frog hop around, trying to catch its dinner. She looked around, unsure where to focus first, and enjoying all she saw. "This place is...magical." She said, turning to face Isamu once more with a bright, beaming smile. Pure wonder lit her face as she gazed around her once more. "I think I could spend hours here and never grow tired of it." She watched some koi in a small pond for a moment before looking back to Isamu. "I really don't know how to thank you for such a lovely evening." Again, she felt that urge to reach up, to touch his face or take his hand. 'This is not a date.' She reminded herself silently, and looked skyward instead, noting that, despite the city lights, she could see the stars overhead, and they were also a lovely sight. She took a slow, deep breath before returning her attention her her walk.
What was wrong with her? Perhaps she really would talk to Shouri or Haru about all of this, and get their opinion. Or her aunt. Aunt Midori would be much less likely to tease her, though she was quite protective, so she may not be happy with the fact that Isamu would be living with her...

”I'd really enjoy that. Music is always much more enjoyable when it is shared with others.”
He was quite relieved to hear she liked the idea and rather agreed wholeheartedly to it. He would have felt a complete fool had it been otherwise. He probably would have quit his job to be honest, he disliked feeling uncomfortable but this young woman seemed different to most women he knew. And she enjoyed coming here in the first place, he could hardly belie his luck, it would be so easy to work for her, he still remembered previous customers and it still gave him a headache. Some would even demand he did medical tests to ensure he would not passed them on illnesses or the like. Others insisted on testing his fighting skills and some even wanted to force him to stand watch by the door like a medieval guard every night and protect them during the day. What kind of a person would ever suggest such a thing? He realised he was beginning to rub his forehead but he pretended to have been listening intently to her words and nodded, “I hope you will not be disappointed.” He did like playing his instruments but he did not like people who expected you to be perfect at absolutely everything. There was no such thing…
”Haru-kun probably either wanted to tell me about a date or ask for help with his homework… Either way, he'll be fine. I can call him later and see what he wants… You should know, I don't really have much of a social life to speak of. My aunt is my only family, and I only have a handful of friends. Shouri-chan has been my best freind for years. And then there's Haru-kun...I met him a couple of years ago. We had a science class together, and I helped him study for the exams… Oh, and there's Sei-kun. He's Haru-kun's boyfriend, and he's really quite sweet.”
Isamu listened to her words with a lot of interest. She was telling him about her friends and family and that was something to treasure. Although, he was surprised that she trusted him that much to reveal all this to him but he nodded, “I believe that so long as you have one true friend you should be happy, you do not need a sea of friends to feel like you have an acceptable social life, I should know. Your friends and aunt sound like marvellous people, I’m glad you have them close to you.” Especially now that she was becoming quite famous, she had to be selective when it came down to friendship. “It is good to have a benevolent heart, but form now on, when making friends, be very careful. the moment you earn bit more money than useful is when you have to be weary of others. However, you will always have your aunt, your friends, and your bodyguard.” It would be too presumptuous to consider himself her friend when she probably did not know him that well. “That is why I need you to trust me, to never hide anything from me, otherwise I cannot protect you.”
"This place is…magical… I think I could spend hours here and never grow tired of it.”
He smirked and kept walking peacefully alongside the eager and curious young woman. “I knew you would like it…” He then kept on walking, allowing her to take in the beauty of it all and then finally reached a great oak tree and placed a hand on the trunk and closed his eyes. The cool wind caressing his long dark hair as if he remembered fond memories. His amber eyes opened again and shone with the light of the stars. “We built this together, me and Tuturu-sama, it was quite a funny thing to see, but we enjoyed building this nevertheless. And now, it is a little piece of paradise in this earth. He sat on the grass and laid on his back with his head resting on his hands as he stared at the night sky. “I am sure you would be more than welcomed here whenever you wish to come…” he eyed her and finally voiced a though that had occurred him not long after he had accepted her role as protector. “Will you mind… the fact that I must come with you wherever you go? I understand it is something difficult to assimilate but… I would not like you to refrain form telling me how you feel, I must also make you happy. I am your bodyguard after all.”
“I really don't know how to thank you for such a lovely evening.”
He was a bit shocked at those words and he did not know what to say. He was merely trying to be nice to his new protégée but, as he saw it now, they were acting as if they were in a relationship… Was that what his mother had been taking about all night? He felt his cheeks redden but he quickly looked away and he said, “There is nothing to thank…” before he could stop his tongue though he added, “your company is quite enjoyable…” he bit his tongue, what was he doing? She would not think him a pathetic bodyguard, one who did not take his job seriously!

“I believe that so long as you have one true friend you should be happy, you do not need a sea of friends to feel like you have an acceptable social life, I should know. Your friends and aunt sound like marvellous people, I’m glad you have them close to you. It is good to have a benevolent heart, but form now on, when making friends, be very careful. the moment you earn bit more money than useful is when you have to be weary of others. However, you will always have your aunt, your friends, and your bodyguard. That is why I need you to trust me, to never hide anything from me, otherwise I cannot protect you.”
Hotori nodded along to his advice. It was the same thing both Shouri and Haru told her time and time again. It had taken her a long time to learn she didn't need everyone to like her. She felt silly now, thinking back on the many times she'd given a gift to someone in order to make them happy and earn their friendship. That was what made Shouri, Haru and Sei so different. They didn't want anything from her besides her. She nodded once more, and spoke softly. "I promise I'll hide nothing from you..." It felt like such an easy promise to make, and yet she did not make it lightly. She still couldn't explain the deep feeling of trust she had, almost instinctively, toward the bodyguard next to her. "Though I do hope we can be friends as well..."
She looked around the garden once more as he spoke about how he and Tuturu-sama had built it. She noticed he laid down on his back, and joined him without hesitation, wanting to see the view the way he did. She settled down on her back just a short distance from him, and folded her arms behind her head, staring up through the leaves of the oak tree to the stars beyond.
"Will you mind… the fact that I must come with you wherever you go? I understand it is something difficult to assimilate but… I would not like you to refrain form telling me how you feel, I must also make you happy. I am your bodyguard after all.”
Hotori turned her head to look at Isamu. She supposed some part of her didn't realize, despite the fact that he was staying with her, that he would be with her constantly. She also realized that she really didn't mind all that much. "I don't mind." She answered, turning to look up at the stars once more. "I've got a fairly simple schedule right now, so it shouldn't be hard for you to learn." She had a class tomorrow, and realized she'd have to tell him about that, but now didn't seem the time. She also had a feeling that she'd no longer be permitted to walk wherever she went. She wondered what Isamu would think of the fact that she tended to travel by foot, as she had never gotten a car of her own.
"I really don't know how to thank you for such a lovely evening."
“There is nothing to thank…your company is quite enjoyable…”
Hotori felt herself blush faintly, even as she smiled, glad he enjoyed her company. She sat up to try and hide the blush. "Thank you." And before she could stop herself, she added. "I quite enjoy your company as well..." A gentle breeze blew, and her hair shifted out behind her. She reached up and attempted to pat the blue-green tresses back into some form of order. It was starting to get late, and it was starting to cool off. "Perhaps we should head back soon..." She realized that, even as she suggested it, she really didn't want to. She made no move to stand. She still couldn't explain the feeling she got being so near this bodyguard. It felt as if they have been through much more than just dinner...like she'd known him far longer than just one evening.
