Gina Hanako was sitting inside a tent getting ready for the samurai exhibition fight she would perform as part of a traditional festival in Okinawa and since she was one of the best in the area if not the whole country, they always requested this of her. She gladly did it for no payment but since they insisted that her level deserved some income she did not complain for receiving money. She finished placing her gold jewels with emerald-green gems before she decided to sit down and drink some water. Her sword rested in its scabbard on her back, one could almost imply she was ready t enter the gladiator’s ring. She smirked at the thought and then looked to her bag, there was an old book inside it, she gently opened it and sighed, it was the only way she could tell if her old friend Akahana was fine. She had not spoken of this to anyone though, since no one would believe her if she said her friend had been swallowed up into a book and the story about her kept rewriting itself on the blank pages. Yeah, that would get her to one of those houses for crazy people in no time. She sighed and decided she had some time before she was off, so she might as well keep up to date with what her friend was going through, she was so strong though, she did not ant to think how she would react if she were a miko and tossed into a world she could not understand.
Looking back at her reflection in the mirror she smiled, this outfit really suited her, she was glad she had learned to make her own clothes, that way she would not have to be pedantic about it if someone else made her clothing for her. She would be a jewel to behold once the show began. She drank some more water and then slowly opened the book and went to the page she had left it on. She removed the bookmarker and then concentrated on what her eyes could see in the words of the book, the words it wished to show her. So far Akahana was with her fellow Seishi, at least some of them…She would be safe at least, so Gina smiled and then sighed in relief, she had finished reading the fight with those men and was glad her friend could fight like that, in fact they had often trained together by the beach at night when there was no one around and the tide was high so they could stand on wooden poles and practice their balance as well. She smiled at the memories and felt her heart reach out to her friend and she urged her to fight on, to do what she had to do so that she could return to Okinawa and they could be together again, at times Gina suspected she was the only friend or close person Akahana had.
She fund it hard to understand since she was a wonderful person, but sometimes that happened, right? She lightly gasped when, fully absorbed in the story she was ready, someone called out to her to get ready since she was next. She nodded and then finished the sentence she was reading before she stood up and moved to close the book and place it back in her bag. She was so taken aback by how Akahana’s Seishi truly wanted her to trust them, they did not know her like she did. It was difficult if not impossible for Akahana to trust anyone, and it seemed that her past was much darkener than she let on. Gina sighed and fixed her hair and smiled at her reflection with great pride once more she suddenly she heard a noise as she moved to walk out of her tent and she raised an eyebrow. She shrugged and then kept on walking until a silvery-white light began to manatee from her and she gasped thinking she had probably lost her mind already.
But no, she remembered something similar happened to Akahana and she immediately moved toward the book which was now on the food open and writing some words for her eyes only. “Wait a minute!” how on earth was this happening? She moved her back to the mirror in shock and noticed there was a symbol glowing form the nape of her neck, ‘Ox’. What in the world did that mean? She was not about to be thrown in like AKahana right? But her light had not be silvery-white with snow flurries, hers had been blue… She raised an eyebrow, if it was not the ams colour she would not be brought in to help her friend but probably to be taken to another land in itself and she did not want that. She anted to see her friend but she was happy here, she did not want to leave her family and friends. In fact she could already hear the young and teenage girls call out to her, they greatly admired her by now and she smiled tenderly. She loved young children and teenagers, she loved making them happy especially those with difficult lives and the thought that she was about to be taken away form them hurt her heart like nothing else could.
One tear formed in her pristine emerald eyes and it slowly cascaded down her cheek and finally and slowly, like an ice shard, it fell to the floor and then she felt the light cover her completely and shine brightly while more snow flurries surrounded her and she passed out without knowing what was going on. Yet, at least she was prepared for what was to come, unlike Akahana…she had read enough of the book to learn she was probably being dragged in to become a miko. She slowly moved in the direction of the ground while her unconscious body did not respond to the fall but before she could even land, she disappeared covered in snow flurries. And just as the light was beginning to fade, a young girl entered the tent and gasped in fear at what she saw and ran toward the book calling out to Gina, her friend and the young woman she admired more than any celebrity. She then looked frightened when words began to scribble themselves in the book and she took the book and embraced it, as if it were the only thing she would now have to remind her of Gina and she cried…
It was a desolate and cold place, there was snow everywhere and Gina landed there, still unconscious and not moving, perhaps the shock had been to great for her to handle. But she did not stir at all as the silvery-white light began to diminish, and it was starting to snow for snowflakes fell close to her silver-white hair. And she laid there like a young child who was too tired to wake up, too weary to accept the reality that now emerged and could not be avoided. The moment her eyes opened she would be facing the same dilemma as Akahana probably. And she would be far form home and who knew if she would ever go back, but, one thing she did not was she could not panic, and in her unconsciousness she was slowly gathering up her strength and getting ready-in her own way-for what was to come. She did not want anyone to think her weak or pathetic, she was much too proud for that. Besides, if she was to be in a different place to the one she was used to, her mechanism of defence would be her pride and strength, she would not let anyone see her as feeble and manageable. She was too independent for that… The emerald gems shone every time the snowflakes touched them, at least she had her sword with her…

Hayate was strolling around the outskirts of the palace with Yori and Hiden, as he was told to always take a guard with him-even if he didn't need one-especially when his sister was with him. She enjoyed walking outside when the snow fell in light flurries. She said the flakes tickled her nose, and she'd laugh, which made Hayate smile. If someone had to intrude on this quite moment of joy, he was glad it was Hiden. The other was his best friend, and knew him better than perhaps anyone else. He would not think the prince was weak as he smiled at the blind princess.
Hayate had just looked up to see the progress of the dim sun across the sky, using it as a means to check the time and make sure they were home in time for supper, when he saw something odd. There was a silver-white flash of light, nearly impossible to see against the falling snow, but he was used to the snow, and so he spotted it easily. He froze in place, Yori stopping as well, as she held onto his arm.
"What is the matter, Nii-san?" The young princess asked, placing her free gloved hand on his arm to draw his attention.
"Nothing, Yori-chan. I just thought I saw something..." Hayate didn't wish to worry his sister. That light...could it be that the Genbu no Miko had arrived?
"Shall I go look, Sire?" Hiden asked, standing at attention on Yori's other side.
If it was the Miko, it was best that a Seishi go to her. He shook his head. "No, take the princess back to the palace. I will go investigate."
"But Sire, the Empress said-" Hiden began.
"My mother will just have to be cross." Hayate interrupted. "Yori, tell her I said to take it up with me when I return, and if I hear of her so much as raising her voice at Hiden..."
Yori nodded, understanding her task. "But Nii-san, I want to stay with you."
"I won't be long, little one, I promise." He leaned down and kissed his sister's forehead before removing her hand from his arm and placing it on Hiden's. "Now, run along."
The pair turned back toward the palace, and Hayate watched them go for a moment before turning and starting toward where he'd seen the light. Could he really have been chosen as the first Seishi to find the Miko. It seemed to be random, but Hayate believed it was a great honor bestowed upon that Seishi, and added an extra level to his (or her) duty. That Seishi would be responsible for tending to the needs of the girl from another world, and making sure she understood where she was, an why she had been brought there. He felt himself puff up with a bit of pride as he walked on.
The prince focused on the snow ahead of him, looking for tracks or anything else that might lead to the girl. It was a good thing he did, or he might've missed the sparkle of jewels in the snow. As he moved closer, he realized it was a girl with long hair the color of the snow. She wore many jewels, and had a sword strapped to her back. She was unconscious, and he knelt to make sure she wasn't dead. Could this be the Miko? It was not what he'd expected. He shook his head and carefully lifted her in his arms, turning to carry her back to the palace. He reached the main grounds, and several guards rushed forward to take her, but he shrugged them off. This was his duty as a Seishi, after all. He carried her into one of the small, warm sitting rooms and placed her on the couch near the fire so she could warm up.
He signaled to a maid, and ordered that a room be prepared in the wing near his and Yori's, and that warm clothes be brought to fit someone of her height to that room immediately. Once the room was ready, he'd move her there where she could rest more soundly, and once she woke, he'd have a hot bath brought to her. The maid scurried off to see to her tasks, and Hayate settled into a nearby chair to wait.
As he waited, he looked the girl over. She was a little younger than him, perhaps, and a little shorter, though still quite tall for a woman. She had long white hair that matched the falling snow, and her skin was rosy from the cold, though he could tell she was more tanned than most in this nation.. He wondered what color her eyes were. She wore many jewels...perhaps she was royalty in her world? But she also wore a sword...so, a warrior princess, perhaps? Her clothing...she wore a red dress, a white belt and shoes that matched the dress. It obviously wasn't an outfit from his homeland, as it didn't look warm at all.
He sat back in his chair, making himself comfortable as he waited. He hoped she wouldn't be out long. He really wanted some tea and supper...

All she could see for now were mountains, never-ending mountains of snow. She felt cold and knew her body must be shivering and yet who would find her in the middle of that desolated place? Didn’t they say that some people lost their minds surrounded as she was by this cold element? There were others who thought of snow as a most romantic thing to experience. But Gina had no reason to feel happy at such a chilling sensation, the last she could remember was she had been taken without second thought away from her family and friends and now the beautiful and stubborn Gina was in a strange land and she feared the worst. If Akahana had been attacked she expected something of the sort, and yet she could not get up, could not wake up. And she felt colder by the minute and yet, suddenly, her soul felt reassured. She felt a presence, but no a band of bandits, but rather someone else.
She could not quite understand what kind of presence this was, it was much too soon for her, could it be one of her Seishi? So she was truly a miko then? She had not been dragged by accident it seemed. She felt strong arms lift her up as easily as she would lift a fallen leaf and she felt the person’s warmth radiate to her cold and stiff body. How long had she been lying in that icy place? She tried to move, stir if just a part of her body but every part of her was numb, even her lips would not allow her to whisper a single word and so, she knew that at that moment her life was at the mercy of this person, whoever he was. Strangely enough she felt safe in his arms and probably would be well guarded until she woke up and this person did not leave her side. She did not understand for certain but, her heart seemed to be drawn to this person, she was beginning to think she was indeed the miko. Why else feel such strong connection from the very first moment? And yet, didn’t Akahana come across one of her Seishi that very same way?
Kiran was drawn to her and came to find her and ensure her safety. Not that Akahana needed any protecting…she was one tough cookie and Gina would not deny that. She heard a commotion, unsure as to where she was being taken, she could hear some people rushing but a soft yet commandeering voice stated no need for them to interfere, he would tend to her himself. he had to be a Seishi…for some reason these people, the Seishi, always knew they ha to wait for their miko to arrive so that would explain why he would want to tend to her. But…didn’t that then place him as a man of great importance if several men wished to take the burden from him? She shivered lightly as she was being taken to a warmer room. The moment she was put down, almost immediately, she felt the comfort of the heat. She heard the cracking of burning fire and smelled the comforting fragrance of burnt wood.
Still, she could not wake up. She was more or less conscious by now, and she wondered if the Seishi was nearby, he had to be, she could sense him. They seemed to share a deep connection, it made her wonder if Akahana also had that with her Seishi. It was said the miko were bonded to their Seishi in different ways, some could sense emotions, others share in the pain. Her body began to regain its usual warmth and her breathing began to recover, her chest began to rise with the gentle breathing and her body recovered its flexibility. And then her hearing picked up that voice, yes, her was still around and he was giving more orders. A room for her? New clothes? Was he a noble of some sort? Just that thought peeked at her curiosity and she tried to wake up, but she guessed her body was still fighting the cold. She was a bit annoyed that she had forgotten to take her bag of coins, how would she ever repay such generosity? Despite what anyone would think, Gina was not the kind of person to take favours such as these from strangers, miko or not, she wanted to pay this man for his generosity.
Finally, as the heat worked on her body and it son regained its usual tamed colour she stirred gently and her eyes opened up revealing a deep emerald colour that fixed upon the burning flames. She moaned lightly and sat back on the sofa, she looked at it and it seemed quite exquisite and expensive and feeling unworthy of it she slowly stood up and fixed her dress and belongings. She realised her sword was still resting on her back and she was relieved. She moved to stand closer to the fire and it was then she realised her body soon became enveloped with that now familiar silvery-white light and it was then she finally realised the man was siting nearby and she said, “What kingdom is this? Where am I?”
She finally turned to look at a man covered in the same light. Soon their bodies looked normal again and the light was gone. This had happened to Akahana the moment she came cross her Seishi, they glowed a light that seemed to let them know they were connected in some way. Once she could finally look at him, she could tell by his clothes and stance that he was indeed one of nobility if not royalty. He had long dark hair and deep purple eyes that though stern she was sure they were full of emotion. He was handsome she decided and her eyes glimmered. Gina was a great judge of character although that did not mean she liked every person she deemed worthy of her time. And yet, the way he looked at her, she could have smirked, he probably thought her beautiful, a term many men used back at her city to refer to her and besides, she was fully aware of her charms and she knew well how to use them.
She noticed, however, by the way he was sitting that he was a bit eager for her to wake up, or, like some men, he was eager to eat…She could have smirked at that, her father was always in a hurry to fill his belly once all the hard work was done during the day. And her mother always managed to cook in such a way they were always more than satisfied. But she did not know him, nor if she was there to be thane for a miko or a prisoner for suddenly intruding in his lands, now, as she turned to look at the window and saw the snowflakes…she would have probably noticed this palace or house, whatever it was, if she had been conscious enough.
She shivered lightly when a cold gust of wind shook her long silver white hair and her emerald eyes turned back toward that man, “Are you…a Seishi?” She stretched her arms that were still lightly numb, “I’m Gina Hanako, by the way.” She might as well introduce herself since she was not in modern Japan, so surely if they knew her name here it would not matter. So, where would she go from here? Was she truly the miko of this unknown and cold place? It seemed so harsh, were the people as dry and cold as this eternal winter seemed to be? She shivered a bit again and moved back to the chimney. Maybe this strict man would just punish her for sleeping in his garden or something, he did not look too pleased to see her so he probably just saw her land and picked her up, but then again that light that had enveloped them…no, he certainly was a Seishi, a hungry Seishi that was… She smirked at the thought and kept her eyes looking at the burning flames, she did not want that man to know what she had teen thinking. She was in his hose or so it seemed so she might as well be careful until she knew the ground she stood on.

Hayate had just sent a maid to fetch some tea when he sensed movement from the girl he'd carried in. She was awake finally, it seemed. That was good. He watched her move slowly, and take in her surroundings, and was surprised when she stood up. Was the couch not to her liking? He watched her move toward the fire, and it was almost as if she had yet to notice him...or much else, for that matter, besides the fire. she looked over at him, and noticed she seemed to take in his appearance in much the same way he had scrutinized hers. So, she had eyes the color of the emeralds she wore. She was quite lovely, and he felt sure she thought him handsome...most did. There was a brief moment when both were surrounded by the light of Genbu, and then at last she spoke. “What kingdom is this? Where am I?”"This is the kingdom of Hokkan, and you are at the Imperial palace." Manners dictated he stand as well, so he did, but he motioned to the couch. "Please, sit. You must still feel tired. The cold is harsh for those not used to it. There will be tea shortly...that should help to warm you further." He watched as she looked out the window at the light snowfall, and again was taken by how similar the snow outside was to the color of her hair. He had removed his coat, as was his custom, upon settling down in the sitting room, but he nodded to it. "If you are still chilled, you may wear my coat until something can be found to suit you." “Are you…a Seishi? I’m Gina Hanako, by the way.”Hayate raised an eyebrow. She knew of Seishi? That was uncommon, or so the tales of the past claimed. "Yes, I am. My Seishi name is Ayumu, but I answer to the name Hayate Katsurou." He could tell the girl, Gina, was still quite chilled, and so he picked up his coat and strode the short distance to her, draping the fur lined warmth over her shoulders with a simple, fluid motion. "How do you know of Seishi, Gina-san?" He inquired, looking into her emerald eyes for a moment. Could it be, for once, that a Miko was summoned who was familiar with their legends and customs? There was a sound by the door, and Hayate stepped back, turning, ready to scold the maid for not knocking first. His words froze before they could even form, however, when he saw it was Tori, moving slowly and balancing the tray of tea. He moved to the young girl's side in an instant. "You should've let a maid do that, Yori-chan." He spoke softly to his sister as he took the tray and set it on a table before taking her hand to guide her to the empty couch. "I wanted to, Nii-san." She said with a cheerful smile. "Is that lady still here? The one you carried in?" She paused, as if listening, and turned her head to where she could hear Gina breathing. "Hello." she greeted with a smile. "I hope you're well. My name is Yori." "This is Gina Hanako." Hayate handled introductions as he turned to prepare the tea. He first placed a cup in his sister's hands before offering one to Gina, and then finally taking some for himself. "Gina-san, this is my sister Yori." The thirteen-year-old princess beamed. "What a lovely name, Gina-san!" She gave a soft laugh. "I bet you're just as lovely as your name!" She turned her head to where Hayate stood nearby. "Is she, Nii-san?" Hayate felt a bit uncomfortable answering, so instead, he sipped his tea before replying. "I'll show you later." He shook his head. "Let's give Gina-san some time to adjust before overwhelming her with questions, alright, Yori-chan?" He had hoped he'd get to talk to the Miko-after seeing that light around her, she just had to be the Miko-before Yori ventured in. Surely Gina would think someone so easily taken with a child would not make a very good protector, and though he knew he was, it would hurt his pride if the Miko didn't think him suitable.

"This is the kingdom of Hokkan, and you are at the Imperial palace… Please, sit. You must still feel tired. The cold is harsh for those not used to it. There will be tea shortly...that should help to warm you further.”
She almost gasped, she had expected this to be a fancy house or the property of a noble but seriously? This was the Imperial palace? She looked into his eyes as he spoke and she knew he did not lie. She was a bit shocked, so that meant he must be a Prince? Or the Emperor? Where were her manners? She sat on the coach as he requested of her and then looked at her hands for a moment, she decided that she would take a few minutes to digest that information before she said anything, she liked to reflect before uttering words she would then regret. She then said, “I see… So you must be the Emperor if not the Crown Prince.” If they thought her the miko it was only fair that the person with more prominence looked after her, even so by his clotting she could tell he had the highest rank. She was no fool and though she did not grow in these lands she and always enjoyed the subject of history and did a lot of research on her own. In fact, when she began reading Akahana’s copy of this universe she did one research of her own and learned about the gods and the Seishi and miko. You could say she wanted to ensure she could find a way to bring her friend back, and though she did not succeed, she had earned useful knowledge it seemed. “I take it then your god if Genbu, he summoned me…” She was still confused at the whole thing but she decided to ignore it for now.
”If you are still chilled, you may wear my coat until something can be found to suit you.”
She was a very egotistical young woman but she was no simpleton and she knew propriety at court. Should the Prince then be offering his own things for her comfort? She looked at him and said, “Thank you, I am sure I will soon get used to this weather.” It was a blatant lie but she did not wish to appear rude or take something that she was in no status to accept. She could not stand being humiliated and, more importantly, punished for things that could have been avoided. She knew how peasants were viewed back in Imperial Japan, they owed devotion and respect to the Emperor and so she would not insult his lineage by taking his coat. Because then they would come at he and she would not hold her tongue and blame it on him for lending her his coat Prince or not, she was not going to let anyone charge her for something she did not do intentionally.
”Yes, I am. My Seishi name is Ayumu, but I answer to the name Hayate Katsurou…How do you know of Seishi, Gina-san?”
He raised a eyebrow, did he honestly think she would pop into this world without any knowledge on it? She was not as careless as others could be, besides she had time to do some research so she knew quite a lot about this world already, the only thing she did not know was why there was trouble when everything seemed to be so at peace… So this was Hayate, and how should she address him then? Prince Hayate? Or Katsurou-san? She decided to deviate the conversation a bit and said, “What is your symbol? What are your powers?” Oh yes, she wanted to know everything…she did not want ton e tricked. To his last question she admitted feeling herself important due to his curiosity about her, “I happen to be fond of history and myths of old and like to do research on the topics, besides, a friend of mine was made a miko somewhere in Kutou I believe, I found her book and then you know the rest.” And then he placed his coat on her and she blushed lightly but then ignored it and asked, “Are you sure you should be doing that? I am no one important and you are a Prince…And how should I address you?” She raised an eyebrow and turned to look at him, he did not want to take her for a fool she was well aware of propriety at court…She did not want to have any problems with his kingdom especially if she was to be the miko.
She turned to look behind Hayate the moment someone entered the room with what looked like tea and biscuits and she was surprised at how young the girl looked. Did they allow children to serve them? She felt repulsed and was just about ready to plague Hayate’s thoughts with making a law to stop such nonsense when he seemed to take the tray form the young girl and then both of them spoke like old acquaintances, was she a Princess?
“You should've let a maid do that, Yori-chan.”
"I wanted to, Nii-san…Is that lady still here? The one you carried in? Hello…I hope you're well. My name is Yori."
"This is Gina Hanako…Gina-san, this is my sister Yori."
"What a lovely name, Gina-san! I bet you're just as lovely as your name! Is she, Nii-san?"
"I'll show you later…Let’s give Gina-san some time to adjust before overwhelming her with questions, alright, Yori-chan?”
What a beautiful and sweet child!-She thought with a delicate smile. Her eyes did not move away form that young girl as her brother set her to sit by the couch, she reminded her so much for that little girl back in Okinawa and she could not help but to smile at her sweet words. And then, she called her lovely and asked her brother to describe her to Yori. She noticed the way he sternly drank his tea to avoid the question and rolled her eyes-typical narcissist.-It seemed this man was not as nice as she had thought at first, at least where she came from it was normal for men or women to voice their opinions and she knew he thought her beautiful so why not tell his sister? Unbelievable!
And what exactly did he mean he would show her? This man was a bit of an odd fellow…
It did not matter, she thanked him for the tea and decided to walk to where his lovely sister was siting and she sat next to her and gently took one of her hands, “Princess Yori, you have an even lovelier name and it greatly compliments your beauty. Thank you for bringing this delicious tea, I am honoured to have met you.” She then kissed the back of her hand and released it gently. She was sure that with a voice like that she could sing beautifully. As to her last question she finished her tea and placed it back on the tray with the same stoic attitude of Hayate and then turned to stand to Yori’s right. In all honesty she was glad she had his coat on, she was feeling better and better although it was a bit big on her, she was relieved to be a tall woman otherwise she would look ridiculous…and she liked to always look beautiful.
She then smiled at the beautiful Princess and said, “Why don’t you let me show you?” She knew form the moment she saw her that she was blind, of course that meant nothing to her but, it meant she would always have to communicate differently with her, especially if she was the miko, and so what better way to transmit something than music? She then opened the long pouch on her right tied to her belt and tok out a transverse wooden flute and after taking a deep breath she closed he's eyes and began to play a gentle tune that reminded of the white snow outside, it began with that, with describing the colour of her hair and the tanned skin, she then moved to a melody that made allusion to tall born mountains and precious gems found in mines, emeralds like her eyes. Then, she moved to happier tunes of the townsfolk of Okinawa to describe her fondness for dancing and music, and finally it concluded with the sweet melody that mimics the hummingbird. These were nice melodies that also soothed the spirit and the soul, once she finished she put her flute away and then moved to kneel before the Princess and she took off the smallest golden bracelet she wore that ask had a small emerald gem in it.
She placed it in Yori’s hand and moved it to her wrist, it suited her and she smiled, “I want you to have it, like my song, this came a long way with me, I have had it since I was a child, and now, I want the sweetest young girl to have it.” She smiled at her tenderly. She did not do this because she was the Princess but Gina was a great judge of character and someone as pure and innocent as Yori should always be treated like a true treasure, “And you can always come talk to me or ask me any questions you like, from today I am your friend.” It was so easy to live this girl…[/bockquote]

“I see… So you must be the Emperor if not the Crown Prince. I take it then your god if Genbu, he summoned me…”Hayate was impressed. She seemed to be taking this so much better than the Priestesses of legend. If she knew of their god, Genbu, she must be well informed indeed. "I am the Crown Prince, yes." She seemed interested in this topic, so he elaborated. "My mother is the Empress. I am to take over once she passes, or I marry, whichever comes first." Not that he had designs to take over. He'd be content letting Yori rule once she was old enough, and serving as her protector. He nodded to her statement about Genbu. "It would seem Genbu has chosen to summon you here." He considered for a moment. "It is fortunate that I saw the light when you arrived. The area where you landed is not frequented. I cannot say how long you might have been there otherwise..." “Thank you, I am sure I will soon get used to this weather.”Hayate resisted the urge to smirk. She was proud, it seemed, a trait he could understand, being guilty of it himself most of the time. He doubted she could get used to it quickly...there were some natives who never grew accustomed to the weather...and yet, Hayate had always thought the snow offered a silent sort of beauty. It was for this reason that he took the decision from her, and placed his coat on her shoulders. Besides, he would not be the Seishi who let the Miko catch cold. “What is your symbol? What are your powers? I happen to be fond of history and myths of old and like to do research on the topics, besides, a friend of mine was made a miko somewhere in Kutou I believe, I found her book and then you know the rest. Are you sure you should be doing that? I am no one important and you are a Prince…And how should I address you?"He nodded as he listened to her story, beside the part about her friend being the Seriyuu no Miko, it matched what he'd read in past accounts of the Miko. He considered how best to describe his abilities. "My symbol is 'Encampment', and it is located on my forehead." He paused to indicate the spot. "My powers...lie in dreams." He knew that was vague, but he had to pause again to think of how to describe what he could do. "I can create...well, I suppose you could call it a waking dream state. The person is awake, but their mind shows them very realistic dreams." He chose not to mention he could also summon nightmares as the need arose. "I can also manipulate the dreams of those who are asleep." He gave a very small smile. "Does that make sense, Gina-san?" When she asked if it was alright for him to lend his coat, he waved it off. He could do as he liked, after all, and only his mother had the power to complain about it. "It is mine to do with as I please, and if I should let you wear it, no one has the right to say otherwise." He considered the second part of her question. "You may call me whatever you like. I may be the prince, but I am not your ruler." He shrugged. "Since Genbu has summoned you here, you are a person of great importance, Gina-san, so please make yourself at home here. No one will fault you for doing so." He caught her eye roll when he interacted with Yori, and worked hard not to match it roll for roll. "Yori-chan cannot see, so I use my powers to show her things." Yori nodded cheerfully. "Nii-san tells me stories before bed, and shows me what's happening. He says it's what watching a play is like for most." “Princess Yori, you have an even lovelier name and it greatly compliments your beauty. Thank you for bringing this delicious tea, I am honoured to have met you. Why don’t you let me show you?”Yori giggled when the older girl kissed her hand, and blushed at the compliment, but waited silently, curious as to what she had to show her, and how. Hayate was also curious. He watched as she took out a wooden flute, and began to play. So she was a warrior, a scholar, adn a musician? Was there anything their new Miko could not do? He watched, genuinely pleased that Yori seemed to enjoy the music so much. She closed her eyes and swayed in place to it, smiling cheerfully. When Gina finished her melody, which had done a fantastic job painting a clear, beautiful picture, Yori's eyes snapped open, and she began to clap enthusiastically. He'd been so busy studying the musician, and watching his sister, that it took him a moment to realize she had in fact finished playing. "You're suppose to clap, Nii-chan." Yori chided, still clapping. "Sorry," Hayate spared her a small but genuine smile as he joined in the applause. "You're quite gifted, Gina-san." Yori fell silent after a long moment, and both siblings were surprised when she removed a bracelet from her own wrist and put it on Yori's as she spoke to her. “I want you to have it, like my song, this came a long way with me, I have had it since I was a child, and now, I want the sweetest young girl to have it. And you can always come talk to me or ask me any questions you like, from today I am your friend.”Yori blushed, and hugged the bracelet-clad wrist to her chest for a moment before reaching out for where she heard Gina's voice. Once she came into contact with her, she leaned forth and threw both arms around the older woman, hugging her in gratitude. "Thank you, Gina-chan! I will treasure it always!" She leaned back and sought Gina's hands, holding one in each of her own. "We are friends now." She nodded, decisively. "So I will call you Gina-chan, and you will call me Yori-chan." It seemed the most obvious thing in the world to the young princess. "And you can call Nii-san Hayate-kun, since he always says a friend of mine is a friend of his." Hayate watched the exchange. Though he didn't show it outwardly, the woman had just won a special place to him. Anyone to behave in such a caring way toward his sister...and not just because she was the Princess...was truly a special person indeed. He watched Yori release one of Gina's hands and pat the couch next to her, indicating she wanted her new friend to sit with her. "You have done your research," Hayate said, by way of preamble back to their original topic. "Is there anything you have questions about?" He looked up when there was a soft knock at the door. "Yes?" A maid entered. "Sire, the room you requested is ready. We have also found some clothing, it is in the wardrobe. Shall I have a hot bath prepared and sent up?" She smiled gently. "It is the room next to Yori-sama's." Ah, he thought, so it was the room across from his then. That was good. Hayate turned to Gina. "Your room is ready, Gina-san. Would you like a hot bath?" He nodded in the direction of the maid. "I could have some dinner sent up for you as well...unless you would like to join Yori-chan and I for dinner." He was sure his mother and the others had gone ahead and eaten without him, but he knew Yori would elect to wait for him. It suited him just fine. Sometimes meals could be...awkward, what with his mother and father, Yori's father, and usually whomever his mother's current lover was. He'd just as soon enjoy a quiet meal with his sister. He waited to see what Gina would decide.

”I am the Crown Prince, yes…My mother is the Empress. I am to take over once she passes, or I marry, whichever comes first.”
She took in all the information he offered, after all, if she was the miko she and to know her Seishi inside and out although something inside her made her doubt slightly that she was the miko. Gina had great intuition and could pick up things others would transmit without realising. This Prince was a bit more difficult to read but she would still tell some things, although, he seemed to use the same methods with her. Something in the way he spoke seemed to alert Gina that he probably did not wish to rule and she was not surprised there were some Crown Princes who abdicated their right to the throne in favour of their siblings since it was not in their vocation to rule. However, he did look like someone who would make a good Emperor and yet she respected others, he probably had his reasons, after all. And she knew that they were still strangers so she might as well give him his space until they earned each other’s trust and esteem and possibly friendship? She always liked following those steps because then things came naturally and you did not force any confessions or relationships with people. Otherwise those bonds would often break with the smallest problem due to it being forced upon tom the beginning. She knew that well, she learned the lesson in the past. And she learned it well, she was never fond of making the same mistakes; once was enough for her.
"It would seem Genbu has chosen to summon you here…It is fortunate that I saw the light when you arrived. The area where you landed is not frequented. I cannot say how long you might have been there otherwise…”
She crossed her arms around her as the memories of her being dragged to this cold and inhospitable place returned to her mind, and she did not even get to say god bye to her little friend, she hoped the little girl would not panic, how could she ever explain to her what happened? She hoped she would not be heartbroken although Gina surely was. She felt the pain once more, but she swallowed, she would not look weak in front of this man, she knew he was being civil, if not kind, but he was the typical kind of person to use these things against you. She best not test her luck. “I guess so although, you or another Seishi would have probably gone to find me, I know Seishi are meant to be drawn to the miko somehow. At least that is what I have read.” She turned to look at him for a moment, “Thank you for finding me and fringing me here, I am not sure how long it would have taken me to wake up otherwise.” And so she would have been an easy prey to the cold and bandits, if there were any in these lands.
"My symbol is 'Encampment', and it is located on my forehead…My powers...lie in dreams…I can create...well, I suppose you could call it a waking dream state. The person is awake, but their mind shows them very realistic dreams…I can also manipulate the dreams of those who are asleep….Does that make sense, Gina-san?”
She smirked and thought for a moment, so he could probably also see what you dreamt about, she better never have any sort of romantic dreams with this Prince, otherwise it would not end well… She knew he was not telling her everything but she was no fool and since they were both alone for now she decided to make it clear she would not be so easily fooled. Although, she respected his reasons for revealing or not parts of his life and anything intimate or personal, he had to be honest when talking about his abilities mainly because she had asked. his last words were almost offensive, id he thing her a fool who could not count past one plus one? However, the small smile he offered her eased her temper a little. She eyed him for a moment and said, “I understand it perfectly so you better not give me any nightmares, I do not take kindly to them…” She winked at him once she had made her point and she hoped form that moment forth he would not conceal things form her that were useful to know, “Leave those for the enemy when we come across them.” True, his powers were quite useful but, they would be quite valuable when they faced the evil she had to summon Genbu to fight.
“It is mine to do with as I please, and if I should let you wear it, no one has the right to say otherwise…You may call me whatever you like. I may be the prince, but I am not your ruler….Since Genbu has summoned you here, you are a person of great importance, Gina-san, so please make yourself at home here. No one will fault you for doing so.”
She was impressed. This Prince was unlike any other she had read about even form the book. He had such poise and unnatural egotistical pride and yet he carried himself with such determination and excellence that even gestures such as leading her his coat seemed rather meaningless whereas for other kingdoms it could be perceived as many things, some worse than others… She decide against arguing then, since she knew that no matter what she said, if he ‘felt like it’ he would let her use his cloak. Instead she allowed its warmth help her feel better. She was overwhelmed by how he wanted her to feel at home even if she was not royalty but she was from a city in Japan, from a small village within it and not used to this way of life, could she ever get used to it? He seemed to be making such a fuss about what she should call him and how she should behave that she decided to stop asking about it-even though she did that so neither of them would have problems-and simply do her best to enjoy such occasion.
“Yori-chan cannot see, so I use my powers to show her things."
“Nii-san tells me stories before bed, and shows me what's happening. He says it's what watching a play is like for most.”
It was a bit of an understatement, she knew that Yori was blind and had noticed almost instantly, but in any case she decided to listen and smiled at the Princess as she spoke. It seemed that, despite everything, this man was a good brother and his sister loved him dearly so, she would give him the benefit of the doubt for now and hoped that they would both get along for the sake of Genbu and for their own since they would probably have to spend a long time together until her task was over.
"You're suppose to clap, Nii-chan.”
“Sorry…You’re quite gifted, Gina-san.”
There were no words to describe how happy Gina was that her efforts to describe herself had worked and Yori even cheered for her and beckoned her brother to do so as well. She smiled tenderly at the girl and then nodded her head at Hayate to thank him for his compliment. She was a bit surprised since he did not look like the kind of person to give compliments…rather receive them. Maybe he was pleased she was getting on with his younger sibling, but Gina found her adorable and she truly wanted to be Yori’s friend and be there for her for a along as she remained in this kingdom.
Gina’s heart melted the moment Yori pulled her hand to her heart to embrace the bracelet she had just given her and she blushed. Oh she was so adorable! She served all the unimaginable happiness…
“Thank you, Gina-chan! I will treasure it always! We are friends now… So I will call you Gina-chan, and you will call me Yori-chan…And you can call Nii-san Hayate-kun, since he always says a friend of mine is a friend of his.”
Gina gasped in surprise when Yori seemed to search for her and threw her arms around her neck and spoke these sweet words. But she soon closed her eyes happily and embraced her back and her words touched her heart so…she was no longer alone in this kingdom, she had two friends with her now? She blinked feeling a few tears in her eyes, she did not want to appear weak but how could she not be so emotional when she and made such a gentle friend? She would truly value this bond even after she finished her duty in this kingdom. And because of Yori she was determined to protect this kingdom no matter what the cost. She smiled and lightly pulled away form the embrace and allowed her to hold both of her hands and said with a smile, “Very well Yori-chan, I am happy to know you also wish to be my friend.” It was strange but, suddenly, her heart was filled with a great desire to protect this girl no matter who threatened her safety, “I will also do everything at hand to look after my new friend.” She smiled and sat next to Yori and then Hayate spoke again, she had almost gotten used to his rather silent personality.
"You have done your research…Is there anything you have questions about?”
She smiled and nodded, “Actually I would like a bit of input on the current situation of the kingdom, the God’s involvement and if you have any knowledge as of yet regarding the threat this kingdom is facing, anything useful for the task at hand. Have you found other Seishi thus far?” She kept her hold of Yori’s hand and realised she loved her like a younger sister, she was a truly admirable and strong person, for she possessed true joy despite her disability, she felt in her heart she wanted to do much more for her…much more.
“Yes?”
“Sire, the room you requested is ready. We have also found some clothing, it is in the wardrobe. Shall I have a hot bath prepared and sent up? It is the room next to Yori-sama’s.”
“Your room is ready, Gina-san. Would you like a hot bath? I could have some dinner sent up for you as well...unless you would like to join Yori-chan and I for dinner.”
She smiled, how could she ever repay such kindness? She smiled at him and slowly stood up before gently letting go of Yori’s hand and caressing her cheek gently, “If it is not too much to ask, I would really like a bath.” And she would then feel completely warm and revitalised and after the bath she would be hungry no doubt. To his last words she smiled, “I would be honoured to dine with the both of you.”

“I guess so although, you or another Seishi would have probably gone to find me, I know Seishi are meant to be drawn to the miko somehow. At least that is what I have read. Thank you for finding me and bringing me here, I am not sure how long it would have taken me to wake up otherwise.”Hayate gave a nod, not dismissing her thanks, but silently saying he did not mind doing so. "It is true, the Seishi and Miko are often drawn to one another." He considered the tales he had read. "Usually she has an ability to sense her Seishi...be it their emotions, or in some instances their pain." He wondered if Gina was able to sense him somehow, and hoped it wouldn't be the ability to sense his pain. that just seemed unfair to the Miko. “I understand it perfectly so you better not give me any nightmares, I do not take kindly to them… Leave those for the enemy when we come across them.”Hayate was impressed once more. He had not meant to infer she wasn't intelligent, but he simply chose not to consider that aspect of his abilities. Still, he had to agree it would be useful when facing their enemies. "You do not have to worry, I do not enter dreams without permission...unless there is no other choice." He'd had a problem when his powers first developed with accidentally wandering into the dreams of others, but he hadn't done such in ages. After they listened to Gina's song, and Yori announced they'd all be the best of friends now, Hayate smiled, just for a moment at the pair. He was quite glad that Gina was there. It was so nice to see Yori talking and laughing with someone outside her small circle. “If it is not too much to ask, I would really like a bath. I would be honoured to dine with the both of you.”Hayate nodded. "Mei will show you to your room." He indicated the maid at the door before turning to her. "See that the lady has all she needs, and show her to the dining hall once she is done." "Yes, Sire." Mei bowed before turning to the stranger. "My lady, if you please..." Once Gina was following, she led her from the sitting room, pausing only long enough to tell another maid to bring up a bath before she showed her to the room that had been prepared for her. "My lady." She said again, opening the door and then handing a key to Gina. "There are clothes in the wardrobe. If they do not fit properly, we will make sure to have more ordered right away." Mei was the head maid and ran a tight and orderly crew, so she was glad that two maids quickly approached, entering the room and preparing the hot bath for their visitor. Once it was ready, they bowed and left. Mei stood to one side, patiently waiting for any orders. "Is there anything else you need, my lady?" Yori listened to them go before she spoke up, "Nii-san...I want to gie Gina-chan a present." She announced. "She was so nice to me, I want to return the favor." Hayate shook his head but smiled. "What did you have in mind?" "A bracelet." Yori decided. "To replace the one she gave me." She stood and held a hand out for her brother. "Please take me to the treasury so we can find something. You can show me what she looks like on the way, and I can find something to suit her." Hayate took her hand, tucking it into his arm as they walked, and used a light form of his power to show her what she wished to see. He even showed the bracelet Yori now wore so she'd know what it looked like. He'd let her give it to Gina at dinner. They reached the treasury, and Hayate allowed Yori to wander about the room, feeling the jewels and treasures. Every so often, she would hold up one, and he would show it to her. She'd shake her head and put it back. Eventually, she held up a gold cuff bracelet with lovely emeralds in the shape of flowers. He obediently showed it to her, and Yori gasped with a smile, hugging it to her. "This one! It's perfect!" The young princess beamed. Hayate took it from her and wrapped it in a piece of white silk before giving it back for his sister to put in her pocket. "We'll give it to her at dinner." He promised. "Come on, let's go make sure they know to serve three tonight."

“It is true, the Seishi and Miko are often drawn to one another…Usually she has an ability to sense her Seishi...be it their emotions, or in some instances their pain.”
Yes, she also knew that. But she wondered what her own skills would turn out to be. So far nothing had yet happened and she was beginning to worry things were just as she had feared they would be. What if she had been brought here by chance? No, she had been enveloped in silvery-white light moments ago, besides, the God would not bring anyone by mistake, she knew she had a role to play but was not entirely sure as of which it could be now. She was still accepting the fact that she was meant to help a country she did not know but she was willing to give it a chance to impress her and show her they deserved her help. Besides, she only just arrived, maybe she would find the land beautiful after all and she would work hard to get used to the snow and the cold, she was determined to do this, she never let go of a challenge until she got the hang to things and she was certain that while the other Seishi gathered, she could ask the Prince to teach her all he knew about these lands. Besides, she was a rather curious person and loved cultivating her mind in any way possible, she might even learn more about the snow, the animals of the area and the stronghold of the kingdom. She wondered how they survived here though.
“You do not have to worry, I do not enter dreams without permission...unless there is no other choice.”
She smirked, she did not entirely believe him, would he not try to use his powers if he was curious about a person or to tease? But she did not go any further on the subject she merely looked into his deep eyes before she decided she would trust him to some extent, for now. She was not the type not to give people a chance but she was still in unknown territory and if she was connected to their realm, would they have been this generous had she simply been fund wandering off lost? Maybe they would have, the two nobles she and just met seemed two lovely persons but, he was a bit more severe. He needed to be more lively. She wondered why he was always this composed, did Yori’s cheerfulness not influence him one bit? Or was there something that had upset him in the past? Just the fact that he acted so was more than enough to make Gina curious and want to help him if she could manage to. But she would not be that obvious, she still had her own ego to look after and she did not want to appear as if she had finally decided to give in to his obsession with being the one in control. She could see it in his eyes, he was so doted he believed he and every right to go about as he pleased. Yet, for some strange reason, that made him rather attractive.
She ran a hand through her hair turning to look back at Yori, where did that come from? She best keep her head on her shoulders or else she would seriously screw up. She already disliked leaving the company of a girl she had just come to adore but she was already looking forward to enjoying dinner with them. She hoped Yori would not be sad if she left to her rooms but to be honest with all that had happen that day she was pretty tired and did not want to be in the company of royals smelling like a streets with a great crowd. After all, that was what the morning had been to her, but she did not mind, she enjoyed performing her samurai skills whenever possible. Maybe she could go to a dojo of some sort here and practice the next day.
She stood up the moment she was being escorted and looked at Yori and said, “Yori-chan…” then she looked at the Prince and said, “Hayate-kun…” She then bowed her head lightly and she finally heard him addressing the maid. She waited for the orders to be dictated before she followed suite.
“Mei will show you to your room…See that the lady has all she needs, and show her to the dining hall once she is done."
"Yes, Sire… My lady, if you please...My lady….There are clothes in the wardrobe. If they do not fit properly, we will make sure to have more ordered right away…Is there anything else you need, my lady?”
She felt certain familiarity with the lovely royal housekeeper but she was not used to such formalities so she frowned whenever she was addressed as ‘my lady’. She was not a noble so she did not see it fit, she smiled at her though since she knew it was custom. Once they reached her room and a bath was prepared for her she smiled at the lady and said, “Yes Mei, I wanted to thank you for sorting out this room for me and for akin me at home. And please, call me “Gina” or “Gina-san” if you most, but do not refer to me as lady, I am not used to it and also do not feel it necessary.” She smiled and nodded at her as if stating that was all she wanted to say. While the bath was being prepared she looked at her clothes and smiled, they had not been ruined by the snow so she could still wear it. She opened the wardrobe and examined the clothes, there were several things she could wear but she was pleased to see some quite leggings she could easily wear underneath her dress and a polar sleeveless shirt she could also wear underneath.
She quite liked her actual clothes and decided she would do as she usually did for the clothes she would wear in parades or demonstrations or dances and draw them for the tailor and have them made that way. She thanked the maids as they left and then the undressed removing the jewellery first and then moving with the dress, boots, socks and undergarments. She slowly made her way to the tub and sighed the moment she got inside, there was sweet soap foam and rose petals. This was something she had never experienced before and was truly grateful she could enjoy it. She was certain her parents would not believe her if she tad them of this. She laughed softly and submerged in the bath for a moment before coming out and enjoying the many scents and salts, it relaxed her body completely. It made her wish she and her rubber ducky with her now. She sighed and submerged once more before she decided to wash herself. She did not like making others wait for her.
Once she was ready she took the towel and got out of the bath. She dried herself and tied the towel on her hair while she got dressed so it would not get on the way. She actually liked the way her clothes were complimented by the polar vestments she added underneath and she finally put on her socks and boots and jewellery. She smiled at her reflection as she finally dried her long silver hair and then allowed it to fall on her shoulders like snow itself. It would dry more easily then. She smiled and then put on some perfume she found in the room and finally took her time to look around and gasped, she did not deserve a room like this one. She walked to the bed and knelt on it and smiled at how soft it was, Truly this place was wonderful!
She finally left her scabbard with the sword propped to the wall. There was no need to take her blade to have dinner with the two royals. Besides she had great intuition. She stretched her arms and wondered what to do next, for now she would not wander about lease she should come across someone who might feel offended at her curiosity. She opened the door to the balcony and leaned on the rails and felt her hair leaned forward as she looked around, she was definitely feeling much better now and the polar underclothes were just what she needed, she would have to get some bots made of the same colours of the ones she was wearing so she could go and wander about in the snow.
Her eyes shone like precious gems with the moonlight. And the whiteness of the snow contrasted with her tanned skin and she smiled looking up at the stars for a moment and she sighed, she would miss her family but, she had a feeling she could get used to this place and enjoy the company of her new friends for now. She looked up at the sky and said as she placed a hand on her heart, “My dear TingTing, I hope you are not too lonely with me gone.” TingTing was her young little friend in Okinawa and se had moved there all the way form China so she felt lonely and Gina befriended her and spent most of her time in her company. She almost wished she could be reading this so she knew she thought about her.

“Yori-chan… Hayate-kun…”"Gina-san." Hayate returned the nod. "Gina- chan." Yori corrected, crossing her arms. Hayate's lips twitched into a smile. "My apologies. Gina-chan." His sister could be quite stubborn sometimes, but he supposed it was one of the few traits they shared. He watched their visitor go, and hoped she would like her room. He wanted her to be comfortable there, after all, and he and Yori were the only two who stayed in the large wing anyway. “Yes Mei, I wanted to thank you for sorting out this room for me and for akin me at home. And please, call me “Gina” or “Gina-san” if you most, but do not refer to me as lady, I am not used to it and also do not feel it necessary.”Mei smiled gently and bowed. "Thank you, Gina-san. It is my pleasure." She left just after the other maids, intent to give the young woman some time to enjoy her bath and make herself comfortable. When she had deemed enough time had passed, she knocked softly on the door, and stuck her head in. "Gina-san, if you are ready, I shall show you to the dining hall." Hayate and Yori sat across from each other at the dining table, talking as they waited for Gina. Neither was in much of a rush. Yori seemed more cheerful than usual and flitted excitedly from subject to subject like a hummingbird. "Do you think I can ask Father to each me the flute so I can play like Gina-chan?" She asked. Her father was skilled with many instruments, and she was sure that was one of them. "Oh, I just can't wait for Mother to meet her!" "I'm not sure if she's ready to meet Mother..." Hayate observed. He loved his mother, but she could be an acquired taste. "I see how it is..." A voice called from the entrance of the room, and their mother strolled in, a pout on her lips. "My own children are too busy to dine with me, but they have plenty of time to sit around and talk about tme when they don't think I'm listening." Brother and sister stood to greet her. Hayate moved to her side and leaned down to kiss her cheek. The Empress then moved to her daughter's side, and allowed her to embrace her before she indicated they could sit again. "It isn't like that, Mother, really..." Yori insisted earnestly. "I've simply been busy seeing that the girl I found earlier was provided for." Hayate explained. "She is from another world..." He knew his mother would understand that that implied. "Ah." His mother seated herself at the head of the table with Yori to her left and Hayate to her right. "I see. Your Miko has come." She smiled, her eyes twinkling. "Could it be my stoic son has finally found a young lady to steal his attentions?" Hayate did his best to remain composed. His mother really showed too much interest in his love life, or rather, currently, his lack of one. "It isn't like that, Mother..." "Not yet, perhaps..." The Empress laughed, and Yori joined with a quite giggle. Hayate had to force himself not to facepalm, and hoped they would change the subject before Gina arrived.

”Gina-san."
"Gina-chan."
"My apologies. Gina-chan.”
Gina smiled at the balcony, she could tell there was stubbornness in the family but she did not expect Yori to show her own. It made her smile though, that young girl was so strong she realised that aside from being fond of her already she also admired her. She could not help wondering though, had her coming only deprived them from their usual quiet and peace? She did not want to be the reason this palace was struck with grief or darkness and she had to admit she sensed a darkness nearby although not too proximate at the moment but it was there somewhere. She sighed, maybe it had been a very long day for her and all she needed was a god meal and her bed. She could hardly wait to try that bed, it looked so soft and enjoyable. It was naive not to admit she had at times wondered what it felt like to lead a life of luxury and she did like her ego to be enhanced at times. She smirked shaking her head, no, she could not be so naive yet she had to show gratitude. While she enjoyed the landscapes outside she felt a presence, and saw a shadow leaning to a tree and though she could not see the person she knew piercing eyes were fixed upon her and she pretended not to have seen the shadow and walked back inside. It was probably her imagination, surely…
“Gina-san, if you are ready, I shall show you to the dining hall.”
“Ready as I’ll ever be.” It had also been great timing, she had felt a bit shaken by what she had just seen and felt much better in the company of another human being. She smiled at the maid and closed the door behind them keeping as close to Mei as possible without sounding paranoid. After a few steps she regained composure and sighed closing her eyes, she probably did need rest. She had not felt that tired but it had been a busy morning back at Okinawa and then this whole…book thing, it would make even make the Great Dragon of Unity tired she was sure. As they moved on she looked around greatly impressed by the paintings, sculptures and architecture of the palace. How could there be so much beauty in one place? And then, she saw a portrait of the Empress and smiled, Yori had taken to her, both were so beautiful…she wondered if the Emperor treated her s she deserved.
But then, as they turned a corner, there was a man leisurely leaning on a pillar as if waiting for someone. Initially she paid no heed and walked on concentrating on keeping in rhythm with the march and wondering what they would dine that night, she then sighed, she had forgotten to say she was vegetarian but then again royals ate a lot of fish right? So she could just eat some fish and vegetables or something. Even bread i there was nothing else that night, it would fill her and she would be able to grease dreamland straight after. Her thoughts were rudely interrupted when that person leaning on the wall turned to look at her and he grinned but in a way she had not seen in a few days, when she had to teach some drunken men a lesson. He was sober though, and had short lift blue hair and even lighter blue eyes. He was dressed in silken robes and his attire denoted great power and influence, he seemed to be twice her age if not more, could this be the Emperor or something? And yet, the way he looked at her made her want to fold herself in several blankets if not hit him for such defiance.
The man looked a bit impressed, so this was the Miko? She was far lovelier than he had ever thought she would be and that…hair. How could her hair be that colour naturally? His grin widened, he would find out eventually and by the looks of it she was not happy with his peeking. Who could blame him though, especially when she wore clothes that truly suited her, she looked like a princess of some sort. But what she did not truly know was that she could beat that grin off his lips if she chose to. In his eyes all women were feeble…this one would make no exception.
She found herself frowning and once she got close enough he stood on her way past Mei. So that the housekeeper would not have seen. He lightly stretched a hand to touch her hair-at least that was the direction it seemed to be heading to-but Gina was quick to react and she avoided his hand and quickly dodged him and ran to keep up with Mei. After a few steps she turned to look behind her and the man winked before he smirked silently ad walked in the opposite direction. She shivered lightly but also felt great anger. If she and not been in this palace she would have at least severed the crown jewels to ensure he knew not to mess wit her again, royalty or not.
She placed her hand on her heart and felt it beat fast with a rush of adrenaline, yes, her senses were alert now and if he dared approach her again she would make such a tantrum she would bring the whole palace down…well probably not the whole palace since she cared for Yori and in a way for Hayate as well but, yeah, she would not be a happy bunny. Her hands moved to her sides and closed into fists, she did not know who it was but she decided she would keep both eyes open from now on, just in case. She heard voices and finally saw light ahead and she sighed and closed her eyes for a moment feeling the tension evaporate. But…
”Ah…I see. Your Miko has come…Could it be my stoic son has finally found a young lady to steal his attentions?"
"It isn't like that, Mother..."
"Not yet, perhaps…”
Wait…what? Gina stopped cold on her tracks for a moment and blinked, that was the Empress? She was sitting with her children at the table talking about hooking her up with Hayate? She raised an eyebrow imagining her alongside him, no, he is far too serious and stoic, she would grow bored to death! And yet, she remembered the smile of his and his deep purple eyes and she felt her checks blush, she whispered a curse before she caressed her cheeks hoping it would make them regain their usual colour. Yet, she pressed on hoping Mei had not heard or seen anything embarrassing. she had to pretend she and not heard that but it was difficult…
Once she entered the room she bowed her head deeply and closed her eyes, her long silver hair moving in front of her shoulders. She was not sure how to behave in front of an Empress so she decided to stand straight after a moment and looked back at her hands, “Forgive my slight delay Your Highness, and thank you for your generosity thus far. I am greatly indebted to you” It was hard biting her pride like this but she did not wish to be too forward when she was still learning the specific customs of this palace. She was a perfectionist so she did not like to allow room for error.

Hayate stood when Gena entered the dining hall. It was customary for a man to stand when a lady joined him at a table, and either way, he was currently the only man in the room. A small post of him hoped she had not heard his mother's teasing a moment ago, but he pushed that thought aside. She looked a little shaken, perhaps, or upset, but he didn't want to embarrass her by pointing it out in front of everyone. He was amused when she didn't come to sit down right away, and instead began to speak. “Forgive my slight delay Your Highness, and thank you for your generosity thus far. I am greatly indebted to you”"Oh, what lovely manners!" The Empress exclaimed as she stood as well. Hayate turned to ask his mother what she was going, but she was on the move before he could form the words. She rounded the table and strolled up to Gina, her deep purple eyes sparkling with her joy. "And so lovely too!" She grabbed the younger woman in a hug. "Yori-chan has been singing your praises since she parted company with you. I'm glad to see that my daughter has not been exaggerating." She stepped back from the hug and took one of Gina's hands as she tugged her toward the table. "And please, when it's just family like this, feel free to call me Sumiko. As I'm sure Ha-chan has already told you," She attempted to deepen her voice so it sounded more like Hayate's. "We are not your rulers." She giggled, as did Yori, though Hayate looked down to hide an eye twitch at the long used nickname. "Mother, I'm sure Gina-chan is quite tired and ready to eat..." He attempted to draw his mother's attention to the real reason they were in the dining hall, which wasn't to tease him. "Oh, Gina-chan!" Yori smiled brightly. "Will you sit next to me? Please?" Hayate moved around the table to pull out the chair next to his sister for Gina. Once she was seated, he did the same so his mother could be reseated and returned to his own place. He gave a nod to a waiting servant that they were ready to eat. "I could have used your help at dinner tonight, darling." Sumiko told her son, deciding to keep conversation going. "Cho-kun was being rather unfair to Daichi-kun." "You can't fault Father for not being fond of your new lover, Mother." Hayate replied somply. To be honest, he didn't care for the man either. "And I don't know what you think I may have done to help..." "Oh, we both know when you're around, Cho-kun only talks about training. He told me to remind you that you're to meet him in the dojo after breakfast...though since he'll see you at breakfast, I'm not sure why." Sumiko smiled over at Gina. "Perhaps Gina-chan would like to go with you. I always enjoyed watching the guards train when I was her age..." She winked at her son. "That's how I met Cho-kun, after all..." "Cho-san is Nii-san's father." Yori explained to Gina. "He's really nice. He's always making me Oragami flowers. He runs the training dojo for the guards." She smiled in thought as the food was served: baked fish, rice, and vegetables. "My father's name is Miki. He's the court musician." Hayate was glad to see the arrival of the food, but his attention was mostly on Gina. He had hoped to ease her slowly into their unconventional family arrangement, and prepare her for meeting his mother, but it seemed Genbu was not on his side tonight. "Hokkan does not have an Emperor." He attempted to explain, even though he'd rather change the topic. "Mother has never married. My father and Miki-san have been given special status because they fathered children, but..." "But I'm afraid I never settle down for long." Sumiko finished with a wink. "Though Daichi-kun is rather handsome. I've never seen eyes that color before..." She waved away the food offered her, as she'd eaten earlier, but accepted the wine. It was also offered to Hayate and Gina, though Yori was given juice. "He is...the painter?" Hayate asked. It was hard to keep it straight sometimes. "No, that was Kuo-kun." Sumiko replied. "Daichi-kun is the merchant from Sailo. He had those lovely wood carvings to sell, remember?" Hayate shook his head and decided to change the topic. "Are the accommodations to your liking so far, Gina-chan?" Perhaps he could figure out what had been bothering her when she'd first arrived to dinner.

She was a bit surprised to say the least when the narcissistic Prince stood up the moment she walked into the room. He was rather intriguing for Gina, he was like a puzzle yet to be solved and even though she would put the pieces together she was not quite there yet, something was amiss and the last piece would not fit. the harder she tried the more things she learned about him and the more she thought she did not know this young man. At times he was so full of himself that she thought he would not even behave like a gentlemen in the company of anyone since he was too much for their undeserving company. And yet, here he stood all gallant and handsome like a proud Lord of his palace. Maybe that was part of his act, to also appear like the chivalrous knight any women would dream of. That way he could boast about his popularity with women, right? Someone so full of himself seldom did things for honourable reasons, but, she turned to look at him as he stood up, his eyes gave no hint of mirth or mockery, was he truly doing all this to be charming? Or did he want her to finally fall on her knees for him or something? She could not make up her mind about Hayate and it was beginning to irk her. She looked from him to lovely Yori and she smiled slightly, however, she had joined the feast it seemed since she soon realised the Empress was standing up too and she bowed deeply unsure as to what to do.
Yes, she had read a lot in her history books about customs at court, status quo, duties, responsibilities and what you should avoid when in the presence of a monarch. But there was a colossal difference between learning things and reading about them and putting them to practice. She decided it was best to remain in such a position unless the Empress decided otherwise, that way she would not offend anyone in the room. She still remembered the many times her mother had almost fainted when she fort her manners in public. She closed her eyes for a brief moment to regain composure and tang a deep breath she silently exhaled. The Empress did not stop until she stood right in front of her and she did not know whether to look up at her or kneel, but she was an honoured guest so that would not be proper of her. So many rules to consider, she almost lost the string of conversation…
"Oh, what lovely manners! And so lovely too!”
She blushed lightly at her words and yet she smiled, at least these two ladies seemed not to mind being honest. She was so proud of her person she had grown to become, she was complimented wherever she went, well, with the exception of Mr. Narcissus sitting across the table there. Unable to look elsewhere but at the face of the beautiful Empress she gasped silently, those eyes…Yori inherited her beautiful long green hair but Hayate…he had her eyes and they were deep and purple and full of emotions inside. She wondered if Hayate was alike his mother in that aspect too, was this stoic man capable of feeling and showing such passion? She was bewildered when the Empress embraced her but she returned the embrace nonetheless with a smile.
“Yori-chan has been singing your praises since she parted company with you. I'm glad to see that my daughter has not been exaggerating…. And please, when it's just family like this, feel free to call me Sumiko. As I'm sure Ha-chan has already told you… ‘We are not your rulers.’”
Yori was such a sweet girl if she went so far as to praise her that way and she felt her heart go to her. She knew she had done well in showing that young girl her appreciation but not because she was blind, that did not matter for Gina, simply because f the size of her heart. It must be difficult at times to be in this big palace on her own, she did seem to love her brother the Crown Prince, but that still was not like playing around with girls of her own age and doing the things she liked. She made up her mind at that moment, she would spend more time with Yori and teach her some tricks and tips to look after herself, so that she did not depend completely of others. She would show her the true joy of life and she would learn to see it with the eyes of her heart and soul.
She raise an eyebrow when the Empress insisted she called her by her name, this was one royal family she never expect to come across of all the other families there were. They were so warm and welcoming she almost felt bad for entering their lives and causing so much havoc already. “As you wish, Sumiko.” She could not help it, however, but to laugh when the Empress called Hayate by such an amusing nickname and even mocked his words. She nodded, “He did say that…” She turned to look at him as they laughed on and realise that he was not pleased at all, of course, being as egotistical as he was, teasing did not exist in his vocabulary unless ‘he’ was the one doing it to others. She almost rolled her eyes at his behaviour when she noticed he looked down. So he was refraining himself? She honestly did not expect him to be capable of such a task when he was Mr. Narcissus, but then again he probably loved his mother and sister enough to chew at his own pride. Interesting… For now she would not tease him but she might in the future.
"Mother, I'm sure Gina-chan is quite tired and ready to eat…”
That was true yet she knew Hayate had used her as an excuse to change the topic and get on with the show and she smiled at the Empress squeezing her hand and moved toward the table. She decided not to anger the Prince for now, here were moments when enough was enough she guessed. It was then she noticed Yori turned in her direction and she could already guess what she was about to request of her and she smiled sweetly, her emerald eyes sparkling with true delight, it was impossible, and yet it happened-she loved that girl as dilly as she would her own sister-. She only just met her but her purity and gentle heart were more than enough to charm a whole nation.
"Oh, Gina-chan! Will you sit next to me? Please?”
Looking at her pretty face she said, “Your wish is my command, always Koboshi (star-child), I could never say no to that lovely face.” She caressed her cheek affectionately and then noticed Hayate moved to walk in her direction. So, he was determined to act like a refined man and move her seat for her? Well, she could be charming too, she moved to her seat, her eyes looking deeply into his and she gave him her best smile as she thanked him and finally sat comfortably. She watched him do the same for his mother and then she turned to look at the Empress once everyone was seated.
She watched the waiters move forth to place their food on the table and she silently prayed there was no meat in hers… She could not avoid gasping in delight when she realised it was fish and vegetables and she thanked Genbu for this delightful meal. Once everyone began to eat she followed suite. She did not want to appear like a pig and so she did her best to eat the very same way Yori did, she hostly did not low how to use half of the cutlery available. Even the chopsticks looked different…New things to learn she supposed.
"I could have used your help at dinner tonight, darling…Cho-kun was being rather unfair to Daichi-kun."
"You can't fault Father for not being fond of your new lover, Mother…And I don't know what you think I may have done to help..."
"Oh, we both know when you're around, Cho-kun only talks about training. He told me to remind you that you're to meet him in the dojo after breakfast...though since he'll see you at breakfast, I'm not sure why…Perhaps Gina-chan would like to go with you. I always enjoyed watching the guards train when I was her age...That's how I met Cho-kun, after all…”
She concentrated on eating when they spoke of rather personal matters, she honestly did not wish to get caught up in it if something happened although both seemed rather civilised to be at each other’s throats. But she would have to be a snail not to learn pretty fast of Hayate’s dislike for the Empress’ current lover, what was his name?-Ah yes, Daichi. For some reason she did not like that name the least and it made her think of that strange man she and just seen at the passageway. She did not turn to look in that direction and kept on eating until she realised what the Empress was saying regarding a dojo. She was truly happy to know there was one and she would love to keep her fitness. She smiled at the Empress, “I would be delighted to go, if it is ok with Hayate-kun.” Of course she would not invite herself, she was proud but not stupid and the Prince had to decide if he liked the idea or not. Yet the last words made her blush lightly and she took the vine and drank from it to justify the rosy cheeks. Yori then spoke and she turned to look at her.
“Cho-san is Nii-san's father…He’s really nice. He's always making me Oragami flowers. He runs the training dojo for the guards…My father's name is Miki. He's the court musician.”
Goodness! All this information…how many men had the Empress slept with or dated even? Was this like that pathetic television show called Big Brother? She smiled at Yaori’s description of Hayate’s father and she looked forward to meeting him, now she and been trying all that time not to tease him in any way but there was just no point in refraining this much. Besides, she was honestly a rather inquisitive person and whenever new information landed on her hands she had to learn it…Part of her wanted to tease Mr. Narcissus and part of her wanted to ensure his father was not a boring and stiff log like him. She turned to Yori and muttered, “Is Cho-san as dead serious as the son?” She also wanted to make the young girl laugh, but she could not help it, it had to come out of her lips at least once. She eyed him though wondering if he would twitch his eye again or humble or something. She was not sure why she enjoyed annoying the man.
"Hokkan does not have an Emperor… Mother has never married. My father and Miki-san have been given special status because they fathered children, but..."
"But I'm afraid I never settle down for long…Though Daichi-kun is rather handsome. I've never seen eyes that color before…"
"He is...the painter?"
"No, that was Kuo-kun…Daichi-kun is the merchant from Sailo. He had those lovely wood carvings to sell, remember?”
Gina was rather shocked, how many men could you love in one lifetime? She turned to look at Yori, then at Hayate and finally at Sumiko and she decided the Prince was not too happy with that but he would not get involve din his mother’s romantic life, it almost felt unfair that she was so eager to get involved in his… On the one hand she admired her for being so independent and ruling a country on her own, on the other, she could not imagine this being so healthy for her children and wondered if this was what made Hayate so narcissistic. Was he the kind of person to charm women only to boast about it and receive the attention he knows he deserves? But…the way he loved Yori, the way he looked at her, how he spoiled her…there had to be much more to this man than what he protected to the world. She realised she had been staring at him as she thought all this and she quickly turned to drink some more wine and finished her food. It was truly delightful!
“Are the accommodations to your liking so far, Gina-chan?”
She almost blushed when she realised Hayate was suddenly addressing her and she used the napkin to pretend to clean her mouth now that she had finished so that she could recover form being caught unawares. She turned to look at him and smiled, “I have never been in a room as beautiful as that one, even the walls are decorated with beautiful creatures, peacocks and pandas… And the bed seems reassuring. I will sleep like a log tonight no doubt, thank you for putting so much effort Hayate-kun.” She almost frowned at her words, how many times had she thanked him already? She should not make him so used to this or else… He would expect her to lick the floor his shoes graced form that moment forth.
She was about to excuse herself so she could accompany Yori to her chambers when suddenly she felt a cold shiver down her spine, she and this sixth sense well developed due to her samurai skills: she could perceive people so long as they were not far form the room she stood in, and a dark presence lurked close but fearing she already knew who it was she drank some more wine and busied herself with cleaning her lips not to turn and look behind them.
The same man that had given her a rather disturbing experience on her way to the dinning room entered with a smile. His eyes moved from Kayate to Yaori, Sumiko and Gina. She dared not look forth and drank some more of her wine, she was shocked though when he smiled at the Empress as if nothing had ever happened and she decided to play along for now. She turned to look at him as if she head never seen him before. He nodded at Hayate in greeting. The man stopped in front of the table and said, “Please, forgive my intrusion, but something just arrived and I have been waiting for months to be able to give this to dear Yori.” Now, this man was probably the most selfish and ambitious scum that ever walked this earth but…even he was fond of young Yori and whenever possible he ddi things to make her smile and this was-he hoped-one of such occasions.
He walked toward Yori and gently tok her hand and kissed her knuckles saying, “I hope you like this dear.” He gently placed a small stuffed animal of a fox, he knew she loved collecting animals and a fox was cunning and loyal so it seemed fitting for her collection. He finally glanced at Gina and said, “So, Sumi-chan, is this the miko you were talking about at dinner?” He smiled and walked toward her, her body tensed completely. He took her hand and she was resilient to allow him to kiss it but she did not want to make a scene there and she managed to smile at him and allowed him to kiss her hand. He then said, “I am Daichi, it is a pleasure.”
She watched him as he moved toward the Empress and she nodded at him saying, “I’m Gina.” What was the guy playing at? How she wished she would punch him now! She closed her hands into fists underneath the table and gently rubbed the part he head held and kissed on her napkin hoping no one would notice. He disgusted her if he was the kind of man she feared he was. He moved to kiss the Empress on the forehead and caressed her cheek before he said, “I will need to tech some more merchandise, I will be gone for a week, is there anything you or your loved ones need?”

“I would be delighted to go, if it is ok with Hayate-kun.”Sumiko's eyes sparkled. So the young Miko liked the idea of watching the guards train then? Or could it be she was interested in watching the Crown Prince? She smiled as she sipped her wine. "Ha-chan doesn't mind, do you dear?" "I do not mind." Hayate suspected Gina didn't want to go to the dojo for the reasons his mother thought. He recalled seeing the sword she'd been carrying when he found her, and thought that, as he'd watched her move around...at least as little as he had, anyway, that she moved with someone who studied either dancing or martial arts. He couldn't help but tease as he added. "It would be interesting to see if Gina-chan knows how to use that big sword she was carrying." His eyes sparkled with teasing as he looked briefly over at her to see her reaction. “Is Cho-san as dead serious as the son?”Hayate couldn't stop another eye twitch as Yori giggled. He didn't think he was 'dead serious', he simply had a lot of responsibilities to attend to. Yori shook her head. "No, Cho-san is quite fun. When Mother has parties, he always dances with me." Of course, Hayate danced with her too, but she figured that her brother wouldn't like Gina knowing that, as he did seem to be trying to stay professional around her. "And he laughs a lot." She gave another giggle. “I have never been in a room as beautiful as that one, even the walls are decorated with beautiful creatures, peacocks and pandas… And the bed seems reassuring. I will sleep like a log tonight no doubt, thank you for putting so much effort Hayate-kun.”What would she expect as an honored guest of the Empire? Still it seemed things were to her liking, and that pleased him. He didn't want her to dislike anything about this place that, for now at least, would be her home. He smiled faintly and nodded. "You are welcome. If you need anything else, do not hesitate to ask." He finished eating, and took another drink of his wine. He was about to excuse himself when he noticed Daichi enter the room. He did not trust the man as far as he could throw him, so Hayate remained at the table, as if he was still interested in the conversation. In truth, he didn't want to leave this man alone with the three women. “Please, forgive my intrusion, but something just arrived and I have been waiting for months to be able to give this to dear Yori. I hope you like this dear.”Hayate returned the nod, and tried, for his mother's sake, not to let his distaste show. He hoped she'd move on to a different lover soon. He liked most of the ones in the past, actually. Yori's father for one, and that doctor...but this man...Hayate just couldn't bring himself to trust him. Yori hugged the toy and smiled. "Thank you, Daichi-san!" She turned toward Gina to show off her new toy. “So, Sumi-chan, is this the miko you were talking about at dinner? I am Daichi, it is a pleasure.”
"I'm Gina.""Yes, this is the one." Sumiko smiled sweetly at the man before beaming at the rest of the small group. "And thank you for thinking of Yori-chan. That is such an adorable little fox." Hayate frowned slightly. He didn't like Daichi behaving that way toward Yori, but he didn't like him doing it to Gina either. Perhaps it was because, as a Seishi, it was his job to protect the Miko. He didn't want that man to do anything to frighten their guest. It was then that he looked over at Gina and noticed her discreetly wiping her hand that Daichi had touched. Could it be he was too late, and Daishi had already done something to upset her? Could that have been what had upset her upon her arrival to diner? He wanted to ask, but knew he could not in front of Yori and his mother. Perhaps later, then. “I will need to tech some more merchandise, I will be gone for a week, is there anything you or your loved ones need?”Hayate gave a polite shake of his head. "I don't think we need anything, Daichi-san, but thank you for the offer." He pushed his chair back and stood. "Yori-chan, would you like me to help you find somewhere to put your new toy?" He then looked over at Gina. "I can escort you to your room as well, if you like. I know the hallways can get confusing if you are not used to them." Yori nodded and stood as well. "Thank you, Nii-san." She moved toward her mother's seat and hugged her, kissing her cheek. "Goodnight, Mother." She then hugged Daichi. "Goodnight, Daichi-san, and thank you again." Hayate took her hand and tucked it into his arm before leaning over and kissing his mother's cheek as well. "Goodnight, Mother." He then nodded to her lover. "Daichi-san." He then turned back to Gina to make sure she was ready to go before he started to walk. The sooner he could be out of the same room as that man, the better. "Goodnight, my darlings!" Sumiko called after them. "Sleep well, Gina-chan!" She shook her head as she stood to leave with her lover. "Forgive, Ha-chan. He's under the impression that you can't have fun and be responsible." she giggled as she took his arm. "Shall, we, Dai-kun?"

“Ha-chan doesn't mind, do you dear?"
"I do not mind…It would be interesting to see if Gina-chan knows how to use that big sword she was carrying.”
Gina’s eyes darkened when he teased her and she turned to look into his eyes. Hers were no fire already and she was truly tempted to snap at him that he must never take any warrior for granted, but she coded her fists underneath the table and was rather taken aback by the way his eyes sparkled and his lips curved into a grin. She had thought the man completely devoid of any human emotion, however, for now, she decided she would hide what she was thinking and just kick his royal backside at the dojo the next morning. And so she sat back and crossed her arms across her chest with a humph. If he was expecting her to simply give in and let him tease her as much as he wanted, however, he was sorely mistaken. Gina was also a very proud and stubborn person and if she had to snap at him so he became aware of that she gladly would oblige, it just did not seem like a good thing to do when there were so many people at the table and they seemed to be growing in company. Her eyes moved to look back into his and they were fiery, it was as if their eyes were on fire at that moment and she forgot the Empress was here, she hoped she would not try to become their matchmaker or something…
”No, Cho-san is quite fun. When Mother has parties, he always dances with me…And he laughs a lot.”
Gina eyed Hayate and smirked when his eye twitched, for some reason she loved getting on his nerves as much as he seemed to enjoy such thing about her. He was teasing her all the time after all…She turned to smile at Yori and said, “He sounds like a very nice man, I would love to watch you dance Koboshi, it must be like standing in a galaxy full of stars and yet one shines the lovelier.” She smiled fondly and felt relieved about Cho-san, otherwise she feared she would be unable to control her temper if there were two Hayates in the palace. He could be enjoyable company at times but…he seemed to be lacking something and she could not quite put what it was, maybe he was to embarrassed of appearing too human when he was meant to be the Crown Prince, she understood his position might be tough and it entailed many responsibilities but not everything was work in life, she knew of Emperors who balanced their lives quite easily. Maybe she could help him loosen up, so ing as he did not annoy her every waking moment…or else they would be fighting all the time, she could see it…
”You are welcome. If you need anything else, do not hesitate to ask.”
Maybe he could smile from time to time? She did not voice her thoughts however and nodded, “I will.” She noticed that Hayate was about to leave when the other man arrived and she already knew he disliked him but made no comment of it. Maybe it was not her place to be nosy, however, she could not help herself she was curious by nature, was that terribly wrong of her? Maybe it was…
“Thank you, Daichi-san!”
"Yes, this is the one…And thank you for thinking of Yori-chan. That is such an adorable little fox.”
Daichi smiled and shook his head, “Make nothing of it, Yori-chan’s smile is all the comfort I could ever wish of, I heard she and Gina-san became god friends, I’m glad about that.” Truth be told he did enjoy spending time with the title girl, and it only made him wish he had an adorable daughter like her one day. He felt the tension and looked from Hayate to Gina and he thought he would take his time to interpret what he would sense, everything could be used to his profit, so long as it did not harm Yori, of course.
“I don't think we need anything, Daichi-san, but thank you for the offer…Yori-chan, would you like me to help you find somewhere to put your new toy? I can escort you to your room as well, if you like. I know the hallways can get confusing if you are not used to them."
"Thank you, Nii-san…Goodnight, Mother…Goodnight, Daichi-san, and thank you again.”
So he was discretely taking both ladies form him? He could have almost smirked, he was a smart lad. He nodded to Yori, “I hope you enjoy it dear and have delightful dreams. And Hayate-kun if you ever need anything from the market just drop me a message.”
Without second thought Gina stood up and bowed her head at the gathered and excused herself over feeling a bit tired and was relieved Hayate and Yori would escort her to her rooms. She truly could not wait to get out of that room…
“Goodnight, Mother…Daichi-san.”
"Goodnight, my darlings! Sleep well, Gina-chan! Forgive, Ha-chan. He's under the impression that you can't have fun and be responsible…Shall, we, Dai-kun?”
Daichi watched them leave with a smile before he wrapped his arms around his beloved, “I understand, maybe the miko will help ease off some of the burden he has to carry on his shoulders.” He helped her to her feet and led her away. Gina followed behind Hayate and Yori and almost sighed in relief, but instead she decided to turn to look at her friend holding the fox, it ewas rather cute.
